I watched part of the third stream live and went back and watched the vods, but I appreciate this highlight reel. The editing work you did is great, I appreciate the jokes and instant replays. By the way, I wish you would post more on bluesky, since I am no longer on twitter except for my job.
Thanks a bunch for the support and kind words! The editing was something I really wanted to put more effort in, so I'm glad it came out nicely despite the length. I had +8 hours of footage to filter! xDD BlueSky is something I kinda need to figure out, but you're right, I should try to post more. Thank goodness you reminded me, because the app stopped working on my phone and I had no idea.
May not have been there for the final stream, but great job on beating the game, I certainly know I wouldn't have the patience. (This highlight reel also got quite a few laughs outta me) I can only wonder what hard game you'll play on stream next.
Glad to hear the feedback! The game was definitely quiiiite tough xDD After SOTN I'm not sure what will come, I still gotta finish Legends 2 and MAGMML3, but that's MegaMonday stuff, we'll see!
5:37 "Slap right in your face :D ... give me the balls :D" But seriously, this is fantastic. I really enjoy the visual gags you added to the video, and there's a bunch of memes that I had never seen before. You have a good sense of comedic timing with the editing. Aside from that, it's also awesome to see you get progressively better and better at Battletoads over various runs. Seeing the varied gameplay styles, paired with the varied cartoony attack and death animations? The game makes me think of Crash Bandicoot about a decade early, in a way. And it's seriously refreshing to see just how positive and good-natured you are, BurnCrow. Well done on clearing Battletoads! It was a lot of fun to watch this highlight vid. PS: The fact that extra lives are represented with hearts in the HUD, and that you can collect more lives than the ones shown? I think Rare reused this idea for the Donkey Kong Land games on Game Boy. Just like, a lot more hearts are displayed than five.
Thanks a lot for watching, and I'm very glad to hear that the editing came out pretty nicely! I agree on the comparison, Crash Bandicoot also has that cartoony, goofy feel when it comes to character animations. I love how Battletoads combines so many things, it's definitely one of the reasons why it's so difficult, I just can't help but enjoy it. It makes me happy to know that I come out as positive, I usually just fire up these streams and make sure to enjoy my time with y'all. Watching how I slowly made progress through the game was the most fun aspect about putting this video together, so if that's something you enjoyed too, it's great! About the HUD on DKL, you're absolutely right! It's like a better version of how Battletoads displays extra lives, since once you go over 5, you gotta keep track of them by yourself.
If you know anything about the limitations of NES hardware, I would definitely say it's the greatest NES game of all time. It's truly dark magic, it's packing SNES quality of design and variety into 8 measly bits. It's a true accomplishment
Oh you bet! Rare were absolute magicians back then, The Revolution might be the most impressive level I've seen on the system. Tech wise, it's up there as one of the best games on the console, for sure.

Indeed. >:]

@@burncrowsp It really is the new twitter if it randomly breaks.

"Attempt no" pixel font out of resolution* 😂 I was there when you at that ice stage. Stuck around til the end! Great job at it!!
YES! Thanks for being around, glad the video ended up lookin' fine!
Lol that was great!
Happy to hear, and thanks for watching!
By the way, what was that music you used in the winning run montage? It sounded really good and I’d like to find it.
@@Shadow96532 That's "Dark Queen's Battleship" from the Battletoads Arcade!
Ah, nice! Thanks!
@@Shadow96532 No problemo! The arcade game's OST is amazing, probably David Wise's most underrated piece of work.
BATTLETOADS IS THE BEST VIDEOGAME EVER
It is one of the best games I've played in a long time for sure! Very unforgiving, but very memorable.
There is literally no other game like it.
