- This video shows how to get started with FPGA programming using the inexpensive Tang Nano 9K board and the Gowin EDA tool set running on Ubuntu 22.04 Linux.
Later, I will post a video showing a more complicated project.
It's easy to find videos on TH-cam that describe what FPGAs are and how they work, so I do not go into that.
Chapters
0:00 About the Tang Nano 9K.
1:08 Download and install the Gowin IDE on Ubuntu 22.04 Linux
2:36 Run IDE for the 1st time.
3:51 Install openfpgaloader by building it from source.
6:01 Create 1st FPGA design.
8:16 Create constraint file to assign pins.
10:14 Run place and route.
10:37 Load bitfile onto FPGA
11:41 It works!
Here are some links to information on the Tang Nano 9K:
Gowin Semiconductor (get EDA tools here): www.gowinsemi.com/en/
Wiki with much information on the Tang Nano 9K: wiki.sipeed.com/hardware/en/t...
You can find documents (see also Gowin site), examples, and the board pinout and schematics here.
The board I bought: a.co/d/b7bsFoY - วิทยาศาสตร์และเทคโนโลยี
Don't you also have to turn around three times and sacrifice a goat on the fpga board?
I see you have experience with these things! There are indeed some things that don't work with the Gowin EDA (at least on Linux), and things that require incantations!
I have had no luck posting a comment to this video and do not understand why.
Hi, I see your comment about "no luck posting" but do not see any sign of a previous comment. It does not look like it was somehow held for review by me. I have had a similar experience where I try to comment on some other persons channel and never see the comment. My comment that failed to appear contained a web link. Could TH-cam silently reject those? I don't know. I was not able to figure it out. Sorry you are having trouble. I appreciate it when people take the time to comment.
Not apicula(
I have not tried apicula. Maybe I will someday. I have found the Gowin educational tools edition to be imperfect but easy enough to get started with.
