The Jordaniars even said it was the most perfect matching voice to Elvis they had ever heard. Freddie spent his last remaining years just singing Elvis songs at home. One of the greatest comedians ever. Long live Freddie.

Freddie spent his last years actually living above a bar in Spain, paying his rent by doing a performance every night in the pub down below! I don't know where you got your info from, but it is wrong! Freddie moved to Spain around the time allegations were made against him which weren't even true, the man died skint, heartbroken, and hardly anyone came to his funeral who were supposed to be his friends!
RIP Freddie, like Vincent...... "the world was never meant for someone as beautiful as you"!

@colindavid2078 not sure what part of what I said you think is wrong but Spain had become his home after the horrible allegations and yes he was a broken man and skint. Michael Fogg undertakers even sorted out his funeral free of charge. Can't see where we disagree but if that's how you feel I won't argue.

@@andrewmurrell4962 When You said "home" I thought You meant where he spent 60+ years in England! That's where I would call "home" after 60 years, not Spain! Anyway, my bad, we both agree he was a Legend, that's all that really matters!!

American Trilogy - one of my favourite Elvis songs, and Freddie's tribute was very good. He sang with the Jordanaires, who also sang with Elvis, and they thought he was great. After what you have seen already of Freddy, the fact that there was no comedy speaks volumes of the respect and admiration he had for the man.

Freddie Starr (Frederick Leslie Fowel 9 January 1943 - 9 May 2019) was a legendary comic genius but also a fabulous mimic and exceptional singer who had been doing, amongst the other elements of his eclectic shows, an Elvis impersonation long before Elvis's early death.

Freddie had a very bad upbringing as his father use to beat him up when he was a child. Freddie was a child actor and later he was a singer in a Merseybeat band in Liverpool at the time of the Beatles called the Midniters. My dad saw him performing in Tunnel Road, Liverpool in the early 1960’s. His hero was Elvis and like Elvis Presley, Freddie had a twin who died at birth. Freddie started to do comedy during his musical acts.

Freddie was never a contender to Elvis, but nor did he try to be, he made 1 video as a tribute to the king, NEVER said he was impersonating or emulating him, Freddie did his own interpretation on voices/actions to any star during his ERA, but to be honest, he could shut ALOT of impersonators to shame
And yes Elvis sang this song .

You need to watch Freddie doing Hitler in wellingtons boots.
Early Elvis is best, pre army.

you were 100% wrong....the song was American Trioligy made up of three songs the first being dixieland ! and it was sung by Elvis at the first ever satelite show in 1973 Aloha from Hawaii . Freddie was a huge Elvis fan an a decent singer in his own right but couldn't hold a candle to the power in the voice of Elvis. I find it astounding that two American teachers know so little about the greatest American icon and The voice of the 20th century . You need to watch Elvis himself sing it in the aloha concert an listen to his voice an his orchestra an you'll hear the power in his voice and as good as Freddie is you'll see he is a million miles from Elvis, the Elvis movie was rubbish the Kurt Russel Elvis was much better and more accurate.

His Elvis impersonation is great but i don't like his version of this song.
You said you're not familiar with this song after 3mins but then say you've heard it a million times so which is it?

You just didn’t hear it correctly. Rewatch at time stamp 8:25 ish. I say that the beginning part of the arrangement I wasn’t familiar with at all. Which is true. But the part where it says “Glory Glory Hallelujah…” I have heard a million times at church as that has its own song

@@BoringReviews You should get familiar with this song, even if it's in your own time, it's fantastic. Freddie doesn't do it justice. I recommend Freddie Starr and The Jordanaires - Don't

These guys are kinda known as "ETA's"............. Elvis tribute artists as opposed to impersonators. No one can ever match up to the real thing. And to say you aint familiar with this song shows you know nothing about him.
