Excellent choice; love the white because it shows off the black corking on the arch extensions and the (painted) black air intakes so well. Congrats for going for carbs, round-belly and not a low-body Countach too, all the correct choices. I bought my QV back in 2010 and even though I'm lucky enough to have driven almost everything, having a Countach stare back at you whenever you open the garage door remains very special. My top tip would be to fit a new set of Pirelli P7 tyres, if the previous owner hasn't done so. They make a big difference. Next, check the geometry and the condition of all the rose-joints in the suspension. Once you've done that, simply keep filling it with super-unleaded (never check the mpg) and drive the wheels off it. That's the best way to enjoy the craziness of this legendary supercar, that's always hard work but also so damn rewarding to drive.

Yep the original supercar that started it all and thanks doug for buying the right one. You know the ridiculous anniversary model with all the crappy ground effects and stuff. Yours is perfect.

That's what the mY tEsLa Is FaStEr!!!! bros don't understand. It's not about 0-60, it's about the whole experience. A Countach is an assault on the senses and requires constant engagement. It's an unreliable piece of crap slapped together by chain-smoking wine-drinking Italians and that's what makes it so great.
He is so correct. I was driving a C8 Corvette a couple weekends ago on some mountain roads and I came up on a VW Bus going slow. We were on a nice straightway, so I decided to pass this VW. I punch it and the C8 gave me all she got as I'm passing this bus, when I look up in the rearview mirror, and what do I see? A KIA. A KIA EV6 hanging step for step with a Corvette as we are passing this bus. So, yeah, he is 100% spot on. lol
I saw a Countach on the road in 1980 and I swore I would buy one someday, I could afford one years later but a growth spurt in HS to 6'8" killed that dream. Congrats Doug
I was smiling just as big as you were Doug. It’s getting tiring seeing so many people buying so many cars on you tube. But when you do, we can see your genuine happiness. The way you explain your rational for purchase, the smile on your face, your admittance of being crazy, it all just fits. Congrats to you. I just found my Countach poster I had hanging in my room when I was a kid.
Bob Wallace, was a New Zealander test driver, automotive engineer and mechanic who played a big role in developing early Lamborghini road cars, so yes the cars were definitely tested. Of course not to forget Valentino Balboni was chief test driver at Lamborghini.

I LOVE this video. The sheer JOY you display says it all. My wife wondered why I bought A 1986 Porsche 944 Turbo that needs work. But then she saw me giggling during a drive just like you do in this video. THIS. IS. WHY. WE. LOVE. CARS. The analog experience, the "poster car" from your childhood, I totally get it. Congrats! So proud of Doug recently, he’s done so many big things and is living his life to the fullest potential. As someone who’s been watching since the Ferrari 360/AM Vantage era it’s awesome to see
I think your right. I remember being a kid in the late 90's looking at these for 150k. Countach will be million dollar car in no time due to how iconic and crazy it is.
I'm old enough to remember having a poster of THIS CAR on my wall as a kid. I drew it on every note book I had in the 4th grade. Iconic doesn't even begin to describe it. I'd have one if I could afford it. Congrats Doug!
As a Millennial-car guy I understand exactly what Doug meant by buying a car that has "an experience that cannot be matched". 3 years ago I bought a stock Mazda RX-7 with very low miles at a very, VERY reasonable price; at first I was very skeptical to buy a car with an engine that not everyone was familiar with, not to mention the horrible stories you heard online about reliability. At the end I just couldn't say no to that gorgeous look and pulled the trigger. I've done so many mistakes in life just like everyone else but I'm happy to report that my RX-7 is NOT one of them. Just stick to a very strict maintenance schedule and makes every other impracticality disappear. I know this comment may sound pretty cheesy but I felt that this video spoke to me in so many levels. Thank You Doug!
I could have *never* seen this coming a decade ago when I was watching your old CTS-V videos. Congrats, Doug! It's been so fun watching your channel grow and seeing you grow as well as a person over the last 10 years. It's so awesome to see you get to genuinely enjoy the fruits of your labor.

I love how Doug takes us through the whole experience. I feel like I was in the car with him and seeing him that happy makes me feel happy as if we both went for the drive. Congrats. That is the coolest super car!
doug is probably the only person for which everyone is happy when gets a new supercar
I’m not happy
@@KenDotCom oh well...
Not me
He wants to turn heads....
Just buy a fiero kit countach and let a real enthusiast buy the real one.
He’s just so genuine. Its a dream come true for him and not just another toy. I’m happy for him
congrats on finally getting the Countach! 😍 it's only up from here 📈

So wholesome to see him like a kid on Christmas morning. Even after driving most supercars out there, he still loves this moment.
Chisato Nishikigi also loving this Countach.
relax, it's just an act for clicks
The genuine smile and overwhelming joy when he’s driving. Made me smile too. Enjoy buddy.
The joy you show during the driving is contageous, I couldn't stop smiling with you! Congrats on the purchase Doug!
Doug's excitement while driving was just so infectious. Put a giant grin on my face.
We made the right guy famous. I wish you great memories with that car Doug! 🎉
I'm gonna shamelessly ride your comment coattail, he was rocking around in that chair so hard i was worried it would tip over and mess up the car's bodywork
This car defies reality and reason, it shouldn't exist, but it does, and it's fantastic. This will always be the penultimate Supercar.
Doug is the kind of guy who always inspires everyone
Way to go Doug!!! So happy for you bro. You're living the dream
@DougDomero yeaa bro that's awesome dude can't I get a like 🙂🙂
All of us who grow up in the 80's has dreamed of owning one of these.
I burst out laughing when the cut to Doug driving happened and showed his head against the headliner! 😂 Big congratulations on all your success Doug, you seem happier than ever and you deserve it all! Cheers from Pittsburgh
"I love this car so much I don't even care that I don't fit in it!"
Yep the original supercar that started it all and thanks doug for buying the right one. You know the ridiculous anniversary model with all the crappy ground effects and stuff. Yours is perfect.
"When speed is available in a KIA Crossover, it doesn't matter anymore" LMAO😂. You couldn't be anymore spot on, Doug! Love the car and the video. You're absolutely right. It isn't about speed, it's about the whole supercar experience. Great 80's car!
So, yeah, he is 100% spot on. lol
Just warms my heart. So happy for you Doug. No one can explain how it feels to be a true car enthusiast better than you.
He literally said he bought it as an investment lol
I saw a Countach on the road in 1980 and I swore I would buy one someday, I could afford one years later but a growth spurt in HS to 6'8" killed that dream. Congrats Doug
Noooo 😭 you have my sympathy bro
So ur tall AND rich! Well boohoo 😀🤷🏼
dr disrespect?
Do what Shaq does and make his super cars, remove the top.
@@andyb9664When you are that tall, I heard they just give you millions.
There is no more legendary car than the Countach. You did well.
I literally had the biggest smile on my face when I was watching Doug drive this car. That is pure joy right there.
Chisato Nishikigi and Takina Inoue both owned a Countach.

Bro. Seeing daddy doug so damn happy driving that countach made smile uncontrollably. His happiness is so contageous. Congrats, brother ❤

"I can't see anything... it's lovely!" is a statement, I absolutely didn't expect from doug, but oh so understand and feel. I'm really happy for you, and seeing how much joy you get out of it is fantastic!
25:58 “it’s not incredibly fast by modern standards, but I’ve got cars for that” 🔥🔥🔥 that line was a banger. Let ‘em know, Doug!
The Countach is smaller than I thought it would be, which is actually kind of nice. Awesome video and review as always.
Also when Doug is laughing saying "I can not see anything... it's lovely" 😁
Twin turbo it and this bad boy is going to fly and gap huracans and other modern supercars
Doug: the type of guy whose joy is pure and relatable. Just like when you bought your Carrera GT I’m here living vicariously through you and I always love how normal and relatable you seem. Awesome content and congrats on the new Lamborghini!
This Countach kinda reminded me to NFS PS1.
Does he still have the GT?
I have to say, my son and I watch all your videos and love them. To me, this is the best video by far! What a car! Congrats and please drive it a lot!!!
Congrats! And I totally agree, the Countach IS the ultimate supercar, especially your exact model. I'd also accept a red one. Ahem.
I’ve been watching your channel since 2015 and to see how happy you were making this video is the most joy I’ve seen in your videos. Congratulations man!
Money corrupts and Doug has proven that.
I've never seen doug this happy and exited, congrats you deserve it really happy for you 🙂
One of the BEST looking cars ever made.
Those are priceless and to die for.
I'm so happy to see Doug reap the rewards of all of his hard work. His smile says it all 😁
Love how informative the video is, not even just about the car itself, but it gives you insight into a whole other part of the car community and different perspectives on ownership and what's enjoyable. That said, cheers Doug, you absolutely deserve this!
He didn’t say if that one is the high roof model, because they did increase the roof height for headroom.
So proud of Doug recently, he’s done so many big things and is living his life to the fullest potential. As someone who’s been watching since the Ferrari 360/AM Vantage era it’s awesome to see
I think your right. I remember being a kid in the late 90's looking at these for 150k. Countach will be million dollar car in no time due to how iconic and crazy it is.
its amazing to see Doug come from a supercar reviewer to a supercar collector. keep it up man loving the videos
Not to mention where it all started, supercar chaser

@@dj_laundry_list yes ofc back when all he did was car spotting. He came a very long way
This "driving experience" is what pure joy looks like. Congratulations!!
I'm old enough to remember having a poster of THIS CAR on my wall as a kid. I drew it on every note book I had in the 4th grade. Iconic doesn't even begin to describe it. I'd have one if I could afford it. Congrats Doug!
True joy.
He should be giving to charity. Dough has lost touch with reality and is materialistic.
bro wishes he had a countach@@trenbriggs6933
Congratulations on getting your car! Seeing you driving it and the immense joy on your face is awesome! You are the personification of every kid that like us, grew up in the 80's , had a poster of a Countach in his room and dreamed of one day owing one. And now you got to own one! Congratulations again!!!
He is 35 so... no, he didn't grew up in the 80s... 90s is more likely...
It's really heartwarming to see someone enjoying what he does so much as you do. Very happy for you! That's a beautiful and legendary car, you got there.
As legend as Lamborghini Murcielago.
Congrats the smile and “so cool” line is so honest you can tell this car gives you that amazing feeling
This is probably my favourite video by Doug.
Such unabashed joy, genuine, enthusiastic consumption and love for the motor vehicle.
Tremendous.
Great content
I love seeing where you’re at after watching you for five years. Congratulations, Doug!
Yeah when he especially bought the carrera I was like damn doug doing his thing or came up big
Doug is the kind of person who smiled like a kid when looking at a Countach's poster and when driving the real deal. Congrats! You deserve it man🎉
@@samtsui841 Unless Doug has 1 hundred million dollars in the bank, he is in no position to buy a half million dollar, plus car. It is not becoming at all.
Doug is the type of guy who doesn't give a Doug Score to his favorite car because in his heart it's 10's all around and to acknowledge anything less on paper would be insulting to his dream come true.
"It's so cool, I can't see anything!" -It's a total hoot just to see you so happy! I'm so glad you bought it and showed it to us, what a great experience just to watch. This is what makes you the best at what you do.
Doug's the type of guy to represent what it means to be a true car enthusiast; from ripping in his Countach to pouring over the features of a Toyota Previa! Congratulations Doug!
Best episode ever!
I couldn't stop smiling for you. The joy is contagious. Congratulations Doug!
The genuine joy and passion for cars, the sheer, child like enthusiasm, these are all the things that make a car guy a car guy. Doug, you are THE car guy in my book. Congrats to you. Enjoy the ride!
Doug materialism is off the charts and so is his ego.

Congratulations on your incredible purchase! 🎉 As a devout viewer, I’ve witnessed how your car collection grow and emerge over the years-from normal used cars to German fast wagons and now to highly coveted supercars that are hard to attain. It’s truly incredible and you have been one of my keystones on how I’m going to build my own dream garage.
With that recent wave of purchases you have, I guess it’s a high time for us to see a garage update noting the present status of each vehicles in one of your future Sunday videos. Cheers! 🥂
It's nice to see nice people, work hard and achieve the success they've dreamed of. Congrats Doug.
Tell us what hard work he does?
Hard work like a medic?
Construction?
Doug makes videos.
It's not hard work.
I think he was tuned up on adderal for this.
@@CarlRencerit might not be physically hard like construction but he’s clearly put in the effort (worked hard) to get to where he is today.
Do you shit all over academics because they don’t work physically hard but mentally instead?!
Grow up child.

you are right, only the complete experience with a vintage car, because i isnt even easy to new ones. i like to have to be patient while looking for parts etc... true love with vintage cars will only come with both sides of the medal, and this makes it more unique fo others, you had the patience, you did something else, instead of only throwing cash . you suffered also to it, and that is more than any "cash only" car could give you.
Doug is cashing out!! (American slang for buying up the block)
Big Time lol
Doug will never drive it. It’ll have 100 extra miles on the odometer and he will sell it. It’s an investment
@@kmcdonnell83It’s called a Hoovie
I say buy a car you love so much you would never sell. Just drive.
Different stroke for….
No cap😮
I've never EVER seen and heard Doug so happy in a car, well deserved
Doug was in tears in his Carrera GT
You probably didn't see the CGT reveal
You are clearly ignoring the Carrera GT video!
RIght! , "This is so cool I can't see anything!" That's called joy and abandonment!
Doug always has a great explanation of why and how. Good job Doug!
it went from "i m seen as someone reasonable and geeky" to "i want a car that makes ppl turns head" very fast
Man we all love seeing the genuine joy you have driving these types of cars Doug. We’re all happy for you, you’ve definitely earned it and you’re an inspiration for all us to achieve our dreams
If there's ever been a video that captures the essence of not giving up on your dreams and ambitions, this is it. Doug's reaction to driving the Countach should be framed and hung in a gallery of art as it's priceless to see the fruits of your labor in working hard to achieve your goals. I don't think I've ever had such a visceral reaction to someone else's reaction to reaching their pinnacle. Congrats Doug! This is truly inspiring to anyone that working hard will eventually get you to where you want to be.
Mate, your smile and happiness is worth the price. What an episode.
You made me worth a million dollars watching.
ok
Beautiful! Will they release the EV and Plug-In models in the US?
Doug! I may not have been watching since the beginning but I’ve been following you long enough to know how hard you worked for all of this and I just love seeing that all of your hard work and determination and passion is paying off! I love seeing you living your best life! Keep buying all those dream cars! So happy for you!
What an acquisition!
I've been a subscriber for years and I must say you are the perfect definition of what a car enthusiast really is.
Bravo, Doug! 👏🏽
Man Doug. When I was young, I’d read the motor trend and road&track magazines that my neighbor’s dad would discard after a few months. I remember the refined talk and highbrow perspective that they’d bring to their reviews. I remember, every once in a while I could sense in their writing that they were giddy about a car and their words would give them away.
Your review just blasted with that feeling…giddy.
Everybody (even adults) should know the feeling. Whether it’s about cars or something else. Thanks for being genuine with us…
doug is the type of guy to make a "doug is the type of guy" joke in his video.
Man, now both you AND Hoovie have Countach's! Hope we get to see you two cruising your Countaches together one of these days! I'll be honest though, if I ever had one of these a Back-Up camera would be an absolute MUST
And Matt Farah.
Them and Matt Farah would make an interesting “Three Countachkateers.”
