It’s absolutely terrifying when you consider that even the most fanatical of impala stormtroopers from the Star Wars empire or even the a clone soldier would either refuse or hesitate a given order which said trooper or unit knows will result in death
The special forces for special mission, the Asessonoriun and the Ordo Tempestus /StormTroopers - Scions.... are the Imperial Guard`s branch that finally uses carapace armor, that are much more common for the Sisters Of Battle, Sisters of Silence, Inquisition and Adeptus Arbiters (Not gonna include the Scouts Marines, because they are super modified humans). Its really difficult to see so many Guards Regiments going to war with no armor, with no carapace (except the Cadians with their light crap armor, ok, better than none).
While I too love the GM, they are more of a crack regiment rather than a special force. Republic Commandos would be more apt of a crossover since they are special forces that use squad based tactics like the Scions do. Galactic Marines might be closer to a particularly good Cadians or Kriegers (especially considering their higher aggression and lack of care for casualties).
@DogseatDogs again, I hate to be that guy but I disagree once more. Clone Airborne exists so that would fit more towards Elysian/Harakoni. When have the GM ever jumped out of a LAAT above a not-crush-my-knees altitude?
@@cjthebeesknees That is the 91st Elite, not Galactic Marines. The Marines were on Mygeeto fighting on those giant bridges. That (IMO) makes them MUCH closer to Cadians or Krieg, especially when you see their expanded universe lore and how they are deployed.
The Scions are the apex of the mortal forces of the Emperor Armies and like the former Solar Auxiliary they stand as example of what humanity can be as soldiers in the far future. While many within the Imperial Armed Forces consider them as toy soldiers the Scion nevertheless prove themselves to earn the title of being the best mortal fighting force that the Imperium can produce.
No, Lucifer Blacks are more elite. A normal guardsman is a space marine, Tempestus Scion are Grey Knight, then Lucifer Blacks are Custodes. Additionally, they existed before the Great Crusade and outrank a Solar Auxilia
glad you covered these Elite units, I think they are equal to the Marines or Seals of USA's military and the other elites of other countries. keep up the great content my friend. :)
As a former Marine, I would like to make a correction. A regular Marine only receives basic combat and marksmanship training, like the other branches, except with a little more emphasis on each because the slogan goes, "Every Marine a Rifleman." However, this does not place a basic Marine anywhere near Elite units. SEAL's, Delta, SAS, Raiders, Green Berets, etc. would absolutely manhandle a normal Marine infantry unit without even breaking a sweat.
There's a huge difference between a regular marine infantryman and special ops personal. A regular marine is the equivalent of a member of the imperial guardand special ops (seals, green berets, Air Force CC and PJ, rangers, raiders) personnel would be closer to a space Marine.
Marines are a branch of the US military, they are reg infantrymen. They have their own spec forces units like RECON units, but a Marine would like a regular Guardsman in the Imperium. They would be like a Cadian soldier. Scions would be like DEVGRU/Seal Team 6, 1st-SFOD-D...the actual tip of the spear units.
Not even close they are raised from young children 6 to 12 years old taken to training facilities indoctrinated marines an seals would not come close. This is like war crime city 😂
Oh shit one of the best looking mini's for the guard on the table top. Also when we getting their armor in DARKTIDE? Huh Fatshark? HUH?! Don't tease me with a helmet then nothing.
Stolen from aristocratic families., ypu would think such families would gladly tithe some of their children to serve his most holy god Emperor of mankind . . .
It's not incalculable. "How many people died in those wars?" "Well, a fifthilliongigillionmintillion and five". "Emperor protects..."
Scions were my first Imperial Guard kit.
Not a single regret.

The Schola Progenium raises some of the best men and women the Imperium has to offer.
Really enjoyed this in-depth look at the Ordo Tempestus! Awesome job, Remembrancer!
Honestly I absolutely love the OG inquisititorial stormtrooper armor design, there boxy armor and rounded gas masks 😂
All hail the jackals , long may they bring terror to the Eldar menace.

Among all the Pew Pewer's, The Tempestus Scions are some of the most Pew Pewiest. (Ork translation: "Dey gotz mad DAKKA DAKKA, fer bein lazy blastas")
The greatest human warriors.
