So, what's next after the final movie of Bat-May?
Awesome video!
I liked it. Wasn't the best but it was fun
Don't really remember much of this movie beyond the "henchman backing out upon seeing Batman" scene and this rendition of the Batwoman suit. In a line up of all the Batfamily members having a suit that's entirely silver-ish/grey with pinkish red accents really helps to seperate it from the other suits. Sometimes I even think that I wouldn't mind if this suit was Kate Kane's Batsuit.
My all time favorite Batman animated movie only flaw is they should used Batgirl in this movie instead of the one scene but I really enjoyed Tara strong's Barbara Gordon other than that love this movie 👍❤️🦇
The best scene in this movie is when the blonde henchman walks in on Batman searching for evidence, gets glared at by him, closes the door, and then when his colleague asks if he saw anything, he simply responds "Nope."
The smartest henchman in all of Batman
Fits the lighter tone of the movie but also does something I'd say is rare.
"Expand the batman mythos"
That the Batman being fear personafied actually gives him a lil bit of "extra" stealth when caught and that some goons go: "Not dealing with this! I didn't see batman bye!"
It shows Batman ain't perfect, but also that the criminals do legimately fear him and rather get off scott-free by looking the other way just to avoid dealing with him.
Best thing of this movie to be honest XD
One of em is a lesbian.😂
@@kotlolish "There are two kinds of people: those who don't see Krod and those who know better."
This is the movie with a scene where a henchman straight up refuses to fight Batman. Smart man.
Seriously!? I had to watch the entirety of the Justice League cartoon just to see that scene? And you're telling me it was from a movie this whole time!? Either way justice league and JL unlimited was goated
Probably the smartest character in the movie
@@elimDBZ Exactly. Your time was well spent. The DCAU is my definitive DC universe on screen
Let's be honest, that scene is the only thing memorable about this movie.
@@amarcellus1714it's the platinum standard of superhero storytelling
I love the scene where that one henchmen sees Batman, and just one glare is enough to make him leave and pretend he didn't see anything. Smartest lackey ever.
There is one thing I'll say about this movie that it does better than anything else in the DCAU. This film by far utilises the Penguin as a character the best and really effectively showcases him as a capable mob boss.
Yes.
Yes, definitely. In nothing else, the movie made good use of Penguin and Bane.
As a character? What about the EP when he almost reforms. I dunno. Seemed average to me. He was used just as well in an average ep
@@DSan-kl2yc I don't think Bird's of a Feather was that good. And in terms of how he was used, no, Mystery of the Batwoman was significantly more accurate and more effective for Penguin.
The Chase Me short film was by far the best utilisation of Catwoman in the entire DCAU.
3:40 "i didnt' want to see the Pearls fall on the Concret Again"
God Bless you
But apparently, people haven't seen uncle Ben get shot enough yet.
I didn’t mind this movie as a kid, I didn’t mind it as a teen and even now as an adult I still really like this movie even now.
Agreed.
I also appreciate this movie even more because, unlike the first iteration of Batwoman and the New Woke Batwoman, she's not being used as some socio-political tool but rather she's her own character(s). I wish more writers would do this to the actual character of Kathy Kane and give her the updated story she really needs...
Same here
I like the song "Betcha Never" that was played at the club and the end credits. But I see your point.

Shrouded in mystery, this most mysterious of mysteries is the greatest mystery in Batman's mysterious career of solving mysteries.
Easy there, Nygma.
That moment when that bodyguard saw Batman in the room and, without saying anything, just walked away and said nothing was there was so hilarious and probably the most brilliant move Ive ever seen a thug make in a Batman movie. Shame that Bat-May is coming to an end, but may I suggest another idea... what if you guys were to do the same thing you did for Batman: The Animated Series and do it for Superman: The Animated Series, reviewing every episode of the show and even some of the tie in movies all in September? You guys could even call it: *"SUPER-TEMBER"*
Door opens:

Thug: Nutin'
Right answer
Montoya should have been batwoman.....
And ran with it
Very much agreed. She would've been perfect in Sonia's place.
"The scene where this is explained is written like Kathy is about to break out into a bad rendition of Part Of Their World."
Come to think of it. She even kinda looks like an animated version of Halle Berry. Coincidence? Most likely. But it's there.
Yeah Batman Mystery of The Batwoman came out a year before Catwoman(2004).
I liked that in this movie they actually had mobsters again. The sudden disappearance of all organized crime in the new Batman Adventures always felt jarring as guys like Rupert Thorne were so integral to the world of Gotham in the original BTAS seasons. It was really nice to see that back if even just for a quick make-up appearance in this final movie.
Best thing of this movie was the song betcha never at the club.
In my perspective, in "Chase Me," Bruce was imagining the whole chase with Catwoman and was saddened that it didn't happen.
Batwoman is an underrated character in animation. She better get the respect she deserves in live action or animation in the new DCU.
Hinestly, with how much the woke has ruined her perception in the eyes of many, I feel like it's gonna be a much longer climb to that...
The closest we've gotten is Brave & the Bold, Batman: Bad Blood, & Kate's portrayal in Arrowverse's Crisis.
Barbara: Spring Break will be coming up soon and I’ll be back in Gotham for two whole weeks. Won’t that be nice?
It's very sad that there's not many scenes with Tara strong's Barbara Gordon in this movie which is my flaw but this movie is awesome 👍❤️
Knowing what will happen between them, this scene is cursed
its fine. who wouldn't hit that
It's so confusing...because timeline wise that's impossible, Barbara should be like...30?
1997 Dick graduates, JLU takes place in the mid 00's, and this movie has to take place after JLU, not just because of the Barbara relationship and Tim being there, but also the laser weapons are first introduced to the DCAU in 2005, thus can not be in 1997 when Barbara would graduate.
@@nahte123456Not sure about JLU, but I always thought she graduated college before dick did. They were at least the same age.
While this film has a lot of problems, I'll give it ONE small credit: for a movie aimed at younger kids, with it's simpler writing and lighter tone... I think the twist about all three suspects being involved in the Batwoman identity is actually kinda clever.
Again, to stress, for a movie aimed more at kids, that's actually kind of a decent twist. I feel like an even simpler story would've just given us a singular obvious suspect and a few red herrings tossed in purely to justify it being called a 'mystery'. I give credit to this movie that, despite it's lower bar, it still TRIED to tell a somewhat decent mystery story. Again, for a kid's movie, it was at least slightly clever.
If that is true.. that just bumps the movie down futher for me.
If you have to make a movie in an universe as this and make it simpler and lighter for younger kids. Then it's an entry point to the franchise... yet.... does something weird as Barbara and Bruce being hinted at dating/Barbara wanting to date bruce.
In my opinion... at that point just do a full on Robin movie.
But this would be dumbing down a series for a "kids movie"
I understand their intent, but their intent was just not ment for this. If the pieces don't fit, don't break them to make them fit. Find the right piece.
@@kotlolish Nah I agree, just saying that they at least put SOME effort into the film, when I'd honestly have expected them to put in none whatsoever.
Sonia: We are so close to our goal. We stop them tonight, and we’ve broken them
Kate: Tonight?
Rocky: They’re moving that fast?
Sonia: Not fast enough for us, Rocky. Never face enough for us.
1:12 Kethy DuKane? Were they trying to hide the "Kate Kane" shout-out or not?
2:25 Now that I heard of that, I want to see the Dini one. Sounded like an interconnected anthology. 2:40 Oh, sweet!
6:13 Tim reading knock-off X-Men comic books.
OMG, we're gonna get the World's Finest movie next week!
The worst part is they brought back John Vernon as Rupert Thorne and he does next to nothing. What a waste.
I watched the movie and I gotta say: I was both confused and puzzled. It was building up to some plot twist on who was "Batwoman" then it was just three women taking turns portraying her. That's how I took it.
Me when that was revealed: OH THERES A BIG SURPRISE! That's incred- I think I'm gonna have a heart attack and die from that surprise!
To me I already figure out it as you had three new people brought all three had reasons for wanting to take down the main villains also they are just brought in the movie as a plot device for the story and than never seen again
A certain 90s horror franchise has popularized that twist.
personally, considering the only confirmation we have toward the Bruce/Barbara relationship is from Barbara herself (as far as I know) I just head canon that the whole thing is in her head and Bruce just doesn't know how to break it to her
possible
Dude, it was already confirmed that they were involved in Batman Beyond, and then there's that tie-in comic where Bruce knocked Barbara up and she wound up having a miscarriage. While we can debate how canon the tie-in comic is, it's canon that Bruce and Barbara were an item after she broke up with Dick in the DCAU, despite Timm being the only one who likes the pairing XD
@@daliborjovanovic510I think that comic was retconned.
@@CCaster2000 that sounds like a very smart idea
@@autobotproductions1244 Yeah, because I don't know what the point of all that was.
At the very least this is better than the CW Batwoman show.
The cancer that nearly killed me was better than that show.
I really enjoyed the character of Rocky and her voice actress Kelly Ripa
As a super batman animated fan I legit thought this served as a awesome steppingstone to explain the bat teck (and Nightwing glider para-wimgs) that would make up the beyond suit. I actually loved the music of this offering. Iv got good memories of this offering! 🦇
16:18 Return of The Joker was included with the Batman Beyond box set
it shouldn't be, that movie is dog-crap and it's a tie-in to Batman Beyond
@deadponic117 why is it dogcrap?
@@molcatz9634 a) because Terry is unworthy to wield the cowl, b) Terry broke the one batman rule that absolutely cannot be broken at all: he killed the joker (don't give me that "Tim's wearing a microchip which contains jokers consciousness and the real joker died years ago crap) and c) thanks to the jlu episode "epilogue", we now know he was created via Amanda Waller using Bruce's DNA, which makes him Bruce's biological offspring, and you would think Bruce would've taken Terry under his wing sooner and prevented another Damien, but alas, story has to happen
@@deadponic117Bruce didn’t know, at least he wouldn’t have until he met Terry and had him patched up (at latest by The Winning Edge as he’d had Terry tested for Venom to reassure Terry’s mother after she’d caught him with the Slappers he’d taken from another student). Bruce having Terry’s blood would make sense for how quickly he cures Terry from the bat splicer serum, knowing Bruce it was something he prepared earlier knowing they were investigating genetic manipulation and from his own experiences with the Langstroms.
The Beyond series ended before Damien was introduced into the main comic continuity (aside from being a baby at the end of one arc a Damien type character was limited to Elseworlds stories), so it doesn’t account for him. The Rebirth comic run does introduce Damien into the Beyond setting with the second or third arc iirc. Therefore TV Beyond Bruce wouldn’t have that experience to work from.
@@deadponic117 A: He's different from bruce, that's the point.
B: Terry has "killed" several villians as well in the show then. Earthshaker was "killed" by Terry for one. But if that bothers you... Whenever the Joker takes over Tim's body, he basically "kills Tim" to take his body. Like what? They remove the chip from Tim and put that in jail? Fair trial for what is basically an AI made by the joker and put in jail? To be fair that does setup a plot line for an army of jokers...but you get it..
C: Damien wasn't in the picture long after the JLU episode. Let alone Waller hid this from the elder Bruce when he retired. Bruce wouldn't know of Terry's true idenity when they meet, cause Bruce stopped being Batman and keeping tabs on CADMUS.
Terry isn't even close to being another "DAMIEN" , the whole point of Terry was the fact he was his own batman. Return of the Joker shows off why "THIS BRUCE" never gave up the cowl for any of the Robins, cause he didn't want them to become like him or suffer a worst fate. It's what Dick Grayson saw happening and why he avoided it as nightwing. And Tim Drake was tortured by the Joker...so yea...
It's clear you just do not like Terry and Batman Beyond as a whole. But your arguments are kinda weak.
I'll be honest the only thing I do not like of Terry is the fact it was revealed he was techincally a "Bruce Wayne offspring" via CADMUS.
I was like... Ooh.. cool but... The reason we liked Terry is that he wasn't related to Bruce and became Batman out of his own.
He was the street kid that took up justice in his own hands in his own way. That's what made him a cool charater. Adding the Wayne DNA just felt like it diminishes him as a charater with the writers going: "HE IS WORTHY! HE IS BRUCE"S SON TECHNICALLY!"
It was a good thing it was revealed at the very end though....but that still bothered me abit.
The Timmverse Justice League theme is hype AF, bro.
The 2000’s The Batman had the best summary of Bruce’s difficulty with relationships. Alfred sets Bruce up on a b,mid date, that he has blow off because of duty as Batman. Alfred shows up to break the news, the young lady asks “He’s married isn’t he?” Alfred replies “Yes…to his work.”
I honestly really love this movie. I like it better than most live-action Batman movies in fact. The fact that all three women are Batwoman makes it feel like the movie is not wasting your time by focusing on just one of them on a rewatch. Batwoman's costume is really cool, and much better than the maroon and yellow outfit from the comics. Also Cherie's song "Becha Never" goes way harder than it needed too
Happy Bat-May! Love this month! You guys are awesome
I heard people say that Renee Montoya would be a better Batwoman sense she was already developed character and we got to know her and it would make a great surprise twist
Edit: I wrote this comment before watching the video
She was already Bullocks partner too I don’t know why they didn’t do that
@@Doodle1678 I thought the same thing before watching this video. The only possible explanation I could think of is that she was vetoed by execs, much like Kathy Kane. Sonya is suspiciously similar to Renee, whose backstory was never truly explored in BTAS.
@@daliborjovanovic510 that’s a possibility
Always good to be back to Bat-May, let's dive into this mystery wrapped in an enigma !
It's not the best, but I don't think it's the worse. I like Chase Me a lot more, especially that they told a story without a line a dialogue. I think the idea of bringing back old love interests would have worked so much better. Also bring back their voice actors. I like that Bob Hastings was in this movie. I've never liked that Commissioner Gordon was only in Mask of the Phantasm for less than a minute. As for the Barbra Gordon/Bruce Wayne relationship, if it had just been an awkward crush that ended here, like Barbara saw Bruce ride off with his love interest at the end and it breaks her crush, then I'd be fine with that. But that sure didn't happen.
If you want to set up Batman's problem with women and his inability to settle down it's hard to do it better than "This Little Piggy". And the relation with Batgirl always felt forced and very inappropriate regardless of possible (questionable if other sources are to be believed) consent. Its very much the equivalent with a teacher that sleeps with his or her students.
14:19 Rest in peace, Bob Hastings
You are the hero, Jim
I know hes not the same as the original, but I love seeing David Ogden Stiers in anything, so I'm content with him playing penguin in here lol
I love this movie honestly. And I love the soundtrack. I know it isn’t the best but I have a soft spot for it.
I honestly think if several elements were fixed/altered maybe it would be a worthwhile movie. For example, if they kept in Kathy, removed the other girls, added Renee Montoya and Veronica Vreeland to the mix, they probably would’ve been interesting to watch. But that’s the quick version.
Thank you for another great Bat May! I love how passionate you are about these shoes and films- it really comes across in your videos!
I liked Bane in this movie. I also love the part where Rupert Thorne accidentally hits Penguin with his cards, & Bruce's fake static bit.
15:16 tbh, out of all the scenes in this movie, this one scene still cracks me up. the thug was like "Nope, I choose life"
Sad no Batman and Harley Quinn nor Justice League vs the fatal 5 which was Kevins last role in a justice league film!
I think what drew me to Mystery of the Batwoman was the casting of Kelly Ripa who was Regis Philbin's daytime co-host at the time.
I always look forward to Bat-May releases. Good one Doug.
This is one of my personal favorite movies, love the batwoman design, the action and that catchy song “Betcha Neva”
This is a flawed movie, but it has its merits for me (like John Vernon returning one last time as Rupert Thorne). I don't love it like Phantasm or Return of the Joker, but I like it alright. It's a guilty pleasure. In this film's defense casting-wise, Henry Silva retired and Matthew Valencia left the business. It made sense to have Eli Marienthal 'cause he was Robin on Static Shock at the time and it's hard to go wrong with Hector Elizondo (I'd take his Bane over Tom Hardy's, to be honest with you). However, even though David Ogden Stiers was a wonderful actor, Paul should've been Penguin. As illustrated by Birds of a Feather and Phantom of the Paradise, Williams could do serious work.
14:00 I was thinking the glider from Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind.
Also, I'm surprised you found the short to be merely okay. I personally loved it. The entire story being carried through jazz music without any voice acting or sound effects was a smart move and the beats were evenly paced with the action.
was wondering what the 5th movie you were going to talk about was. forgot worlds finest would count.
This is another Batman movie I got lucky enough to find on DVD second-hand but in perfect condition.
I was honestly in the perfect mindset for me to not be able to figure out the mystery of Batwoman's identity until it was actually revealed because my first experience of Batwoman was Kate Kane's Batwoman, so when Kathy Ducane was introduced, my mind latched onto her immediately as HAVING to be Batwoman because the name similarity was way too close for it to be a coincidence... only for me to be just as shocked as Batman when both Kathy and Batwoman were in the same scene at the same time.
I was able to be shocked by the reveal THANKS to having watched Kate Kane's Batwoman first thanks to the CW.
If not for that, I might genuinely have figured it out too soon and not enjoyed the movie as much because the mystery was what kept me eager throughout the first watch.
Thankfully, unlike my copy of Mask of the Phantasm, my Mystery of the Batwoman has TONS of special features, which I'm very thankful for.
Chase Me is also on the DVD, not just the HD release
I definitely like this movie and I understand why there isn’t as much enthusiasm for it as the more classic movies that came out before it but it has a lot of fun moments in it and it’s the only Batman movie out of the animated set that features Robin, Bane, and penguin. All characters that I wanted to see more of, so that makes me very happy. I certainly respect that this movie doesn’t work for everyone and it is indeed somewhat different from the regular style of the DCAU, but it will always have a special place in my heart. Also I love the big climax. I always get really excited with the big climax and the final ship battle.
This movie was actually my first exposure to the animated 90s show and I like it despite everyone saying it’s bad or mid
I really hate the idea of Barbara and Bruce hooking up, especially when you think that Batman/Bruce has probably known Barbara since she was a kid (given how close her and Dick are in age) just feels hella ewwie
It would be one thing if Montoya alone had been Batwoman, but as part of a trio, nah. The only good way to include Montoya in this film while retaining the multiple Batwomen would have been as a red herring and have her not be a Batwoman.
I had this movie on DVD as a kid and absolutely loved it might rewatch to see if I love it now but I lost the disk so I need to buy another
I did like how Bane somehow miraculously survived to return in Batman Beyond but how his Venom usage screwed him over in that episode even though Bane wasn’t the threat in that episode.
I agree, Barbra and Bruce just feels…fundamentally wrong.
On another hand the idea of having 3 people trading the mantle of a vigilante is actually pretty fun and somewhat smart. Solves quite a few of the usual issues that being a masked crime fighter presents.
Yeah, the three people as one vigilante thing is probably the second best thing this movie does. The first being that scene with the guy that just leaves the room when he walks in on Batman.
@@MoostachedSaiyanPrince “see anything?” “Nnnnope”
They can't all be winners. It is indeed a Mystery why they'd return to BTAS after so long instead of doing something with Justice League or Batman Beyond again. It's also an unwritten rule that movies are for stories with a bit more gravitas to them, requiring that extra time to fully tell the tale. Maybe do a story focusing on the sidekicks if the goal was 'Bat-lite'.
"Batman and Harley Quinn" is just as bad as Brainiac attacks
That is a much better comparison to the Brainiac Attacks film
I thought Brainiac Attacks was okay
@Makman1994 Couldn't agree more.
I think the movie works if you look at it as a Harley Quinn movie. The decision to make it semi-canon to the DCAU may not have been the best one.
At least it gave us Captain Clown one more time
I feel Mast of the Phantasam already did a fairly good job explaining Bruce's issues with commitment. He can either keep his promise he made to his parents, or he could be happy and live a fulfilling life. But never both. It was when Andrea left him did he lock down his choice, and forever set him on his path of vengeance. Him being emotionally distant is all part of the act, a mask he never takes off for fear that he may never put it back on again.
I dunno, man. I kinda view this one as...my own guilty pleasure, if you will.
Detective Bullock: What's next? Bathound?
Btw is it me or does Sonia look like Hawk Girl
Kinda like how that woman that batgirl talked to in The return of the joker looked like Black Canary
David Ogden Stiers will always live rent free in my head as Penguin. I'm a huge fan of his work as Charles Winchester in MASH, and i think he brought some of that characters rich pompousness to Penguin. Kinda wish he could have played the character more, i feel like he fits well
7:04 THANK YOU!!! Veronica is a super underrated character who needs more love!
I didn't watch this one until YEARS after the fact. I honestly don't remember exactly WHEN I finally saw it, and I don't remember much about it, either. "Mask of the Phantasm" is one of the best Batman movies ever made, in any medium. "World's Finest"/"The Batman/Superman Movie" is top-tier storytelling. "Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker" is phenomenal. This thing? Unremarkable.
Whoever developed Mystery of the Batwoman must've really loved to draw her with one hand.
I like this one its not flawless but still fun
Here’s a Batman film I hear nobody talk about.
The Saxophone sound was probably added to make the film sound more mysterious and to the character of The Batwoman as a mysterious and sexy flare just like in a detective movie and remember Batman is called “Detective” by Ra’s Al Ghul.
Movie really is a downgrade from the previous Batman animated films, lacks the beautiful artwork for Sub Zero and Phantasm, the haunting music of Phantasm or the Dark gripping storyline of Return of the Joker. IT really feels like an extended episode of the TV series. Only part of it that's memorable is the one scene of the thug seeing Batman, before shutting the door and walking away.
My only real problem with the film Is How Easy it is to figure out Batwoman is and if you watch any Mystery build up movie they always make it too simple to guess who the new villain or unknown hero is
I hoped you’d do this! This was the only Batman movie I ever watched as a kid
I watched this so much as a kid. Love this film.
12:31. In my headcanon the injuries Bane endured from the fire and his use of Venom were the reason he was so messed up in Batman Beyond.
I saw that movie recently for it's 20th anniversary last year.
I never noticed when watching this when the 3 ladies dress as batwoman their voice changes and that voice is voiced by this actress named kyra sedgwick but still like this video
I always thought that Kathie Dukane in this movie was supposed to be a reference to Kathy Kane from the silver age comics glad to see I was right 😁
I remember seeing this on TV as a kid
I think you could argue that with Sub Zero, the music was just as "trendy" as Batwoman. After all, Sub Zero came out at the height of the big band revival trends we were seeing in the late nineties with Ska bands like Save Farris.
Chronologically Bane survived his fall as he appeared in Batman Beyond
By 2003, animation studios were starting to faze out the cel animation method and started focusing on the more efficient digital processing procedure to cut costs. Like Anime, it was very apparent this diminish the quality of these projects that make it seem so far disconnected from the original source material (i.e. HunterXHunter or BigO).
In the case of traditional animation, there's a sense of warmth and fluidity that goes into creating such vast and beautiful worlds.
That said, this movie was part of that period where most American animation studio produced very generic results without depth or consideration. Mainly why I usually dismissed this film overall like I have gracefully erased Heavy Metal 2000 off my memory. Those are my two cents, anyway.
Say what you will about Mystery of the Batwoman, but I like it! Got it as a graduation gift from HS and though different- I rather enjoyed it! You get an ensemble of different heroines plus a continuation of The New Batman Adventures! It's not perfect, but worth a watch.
Paul williams being replaced just makes me think of phantom of the paradise when he steals winslow’s music and has the juicy fruits play it
In the end Credits with Singer Singing, I swore I was going to all the Characters Dancing. LOL!
This movie was actually my introduction to the DCAU as a child. Since i didn't know any of the characters, it put everything in a completely different context and made it very enjoyable in my opinion. Now i love it for the nostalgia.
I like Mystery of the Batwoman fine. I sure as hell like it better than Sub-Zero, a Batman movie with almost no Batman in it. It's nothing great, but it's fun, well made 80-ish minutes of action. Sometimes that's all I want. I'd probably be much more disappointed with it if it was a TAS and not a TNBA movie, but I already don't really consider TNBA to be exactly the same universe as TAS. For the TNBA world, this film works well enough.
I get what you're saying about Montoya, but I'm not sure how well that would have landed.
First thing that I didn't even click together when I watched it back in 2018 or so was that this movie came out BEFORE the popular Kate Kane version debuted in 2006, which my first exposure was in Batman Bat Blood from 2016 (same with BAtwing in that film, never had heard of him before).
15:15 You probably missed out the only best scene from Mystery of the Batwoman, Walter...
This movie introduced me to bane and he’s been one of my favorite Batman villains since
The Contents of a Liver Sausage will always be a Mystery
You make good points but I still like it. i think would have been nice to show that one ofthe grils returned to the role in the JLU even as a background person like the Creeper
It's never a great idea to have Batman and Batgirl in a relationship. We see you, "The Killing Joke" ...
Honestly the idea of them being together doesn’t bother me too much .That being said and having watched “The Killing Joke” I can understand your viewpoint.
You got one thing wrong about “Chase Me”: The entire chase sequence was in Batman’s head. He imagined it because it was what he would rather be doing.
I agree, it was good but it could be much better. Using Veronica Vreeland, Renée Montoya, and Catwoman then using two as a bait and switch would work much better. I don't mind the new characters but ya, the idea of making all three the Batwoman was bad, and it would been better to make Roxanne Ballantine an accomplice instead of being the Batwoman would have added more mysteries around the character. For me, going with a romantic action story about Bruce and Veronica would be better, and uncovering that she was the Batwoman would be more shocking and connect her becoming Rupert Thorne's criminal activity and having a friend or family member killed because that person was just at the wrong place at the wrong time would bring some connection with the two but hey, that is my idea. It is still okay, but compared to other DCAU movies, it's just above Batman and Harley Quinn.
I loved "Betcha Never" from this movie, and that's about it. I don't hate this movie. However, I'm not crazy about it. If it was on tv with nothing else to watch, I'd watch it again.
