Nice little light Kevin. My flashlight in my truck is forever drained of it's charge so this seems like the ideal flashlight for using in my vehicle. Thanks for the great review!
Hello Kevin. Yes, these are great little lights and I can attest to that as I have two Baton 3 Premium Editions myself...the orange and blue versions! When describing the features and or the different modes of this product, you didn't mention a few things... the light has a lock-out mode, a timer you set to automatically turn flashlight off after 3 minutes or 9 minutes and an illuminating battery level indicator on it's switch that employs three colors to tell you what percentage of power remains on the battery's current charge. Also The wireless charger has same illuminating battery level indicator as the light and a low voltage alert built in as well. If you have an older Baton 2, this wireless charger WILL work to charge it too. If you put the Baton 3 into wireless charger when the light is on, it will automatically shut its beam off... although the Baton 2 WILL NOT turn off, so take caution. Who puts a lit light into an enclosed charger anyways, right? haha. Then to top it all off, Olight includes a 6"x6" microfiber cleaning cloth for the lens. It's in the box along with the USB cable and instruction book. Those two comments at the bottom... just ignore those fools. How are you supposed to not make it sound like an advertisement especially if you actually like said product?? Effin' trolls make me laugh.
Thanks for the comment Zach, my instructions don't say a thing about those features. I'll have to check them out. Regarding the troll comments, you will only see one now. I noticed that one of them kept re-editing their comment, like every hour all day long, I thought that was very strange. The sentence structure and grammar continued to be poor despite the edits, and then I noticed that despite having a North American name the first letter wasn't capitalised. On a hunch, I asked if that person was a troll for a competing Chinese based flashlight company. I got a very strong negative reaction and that person started leaving negative comments on my other videos. I banned that person from my channel and now I think I am in the middle of a Chinese flashlight war 😝
Just got one of these for free because my dad accidentally ended up with two. Id been using the s2rII for about a year. This is pretty much the same performance in a smaller package. Much more comfortable for edc and now I have light to keep in my truck
no, the reason it can only do 1.5min on turbo is due to heat. If you let the light cool down again it will run on turbo again. And if you keep doing that it will actually get to around 75min of turbo runtime, it just cant do these 75min at once because of heat
Thanks Craig, the USB cord plugs into any USB charger. It does not come with its own charger/wall plug. That seems to be the norm for a lot of stuff these days.
This would be great to have in the car. Always looking for something useful to get for my husband. *i need a recommendation for Bear spray. You should consider becoming an Amazon affiliate. I often use links when I get recommendations I need and trust. Thanks for the info.
Thanks Mmama, I do have an amazon affiliate page. I just don't mention it much or hard sell on anything. People find their way there and I make a few bucks to keep the channel going. For bear spray I would recommend Counter Assault. They were the first company to develop the spray and they seem to be constantly working to make it better and more effective.
@@KevinOutdoors , thanks so much! I found the Amazon recommendations in the description 👍🏻 I hadn’t heard you mention that so I never looked. Hiking with my family to Pyramid Mountain, Tripod Rock in NJ tomorrow. It’s a pretty busy little trail so I think we’ll be ok without the spray. I’m going to order the spray for future outings. Thanks again! *update: ordered two air horns from your link ~ the spray won’t ship to my address 🤷♀️ I’ll check our local sporting shop. **second update: the spray won’t ship to NJ because you’re only allowed 3/4 of an ounce in our state 🧐 ~ I can have it shipped to PA (next door) and of course only hike in PA 😏🤫
Hey thanks, I hear that NY state is like that too. My original research suggested it was permissible in all states. If you are on a busy trial, the spray is likely not necessary. Happy trails!
all of these reviews ive seen are from people that have been sent the light for free... I wanna see someone whos shelled out $100 for one of these and how they feel about it...
Ha, great comment. All I can do is review the product and tell you what I like and don't like. You need to look at the price and decide for yourself. I don't tell anyone how they should spend their money. This one isn't my favourite as I don't have an immediate use for a little flashlight with its own charger, but would I pay $100 for the Freyer now that I have had it for awhile.
Sorry for the essay, but here's a thorough review from someone with absolutely no affiliation: I coughed up $64.95 for the version without the charging case (I quite like the magnetic cord charging method), and I've had a S2R Baton for a while. They're exceptional little lights with a lot of features, the amount of power, throw, and runtime you get out of the form factor is nothing short of incredible, and they feel very sturdy and of quality build in my hand, with an attractive finish. The light color is on the cool side for my taste (a more neutral tone makes discerning certain details easier), and I prefer a tailcap button for quicker access to the highest setting (the double-press to enter turbo mode on the Olight strikes me as potentially problematic under stress) so I carry a larger and much more expensive Surefire EDCL-2T (made possible by my also consistently wearing some variation of cargo or tactical pants--something not practical or desirable for most), but considering the price and size of the Olights they're spectacular, the Baton 3 matches (or at least comes very close to) my Surefire in terms of brightness, flood, and throw from what amateur testing I've done. I've given S2R batons to my mom and girlfriend as well and both have no trouble carrying them on their persons daily despite both typically dressing in "girl clothes" with basically non-functional pockets. We've had absolutely no problems with any of them. There are brands with more of a reputation for superlative quality, and there are lights that can be carried daily with more attractive beam characterics, but between the size and relative affordability of these little Olights what they offer has impressed me very, very much.
Oooooh! This came at a perfect time, as I'm in the market for a compact flashlight for my car's emergency kit!! Thanks, Kevin!!
That is probably the best use for this product.
Nice little light Kevin. My flashlight in my truck is forever drained of it's charge so this seems like the ideal flashlight for using in my vehicle. Thanks for the great review!
I think vehicle storage is the idea application for this. It is still probably something I would not bring camping given the case isn't waterproof.
Damn good review, concise and direct and your added humor was a nice bonus.
OH, yeah, I bought A Baton 3, based on your review, thanks and thumbs up.
Thanks for the feedback.

Thanks for posting this. I have 3 Baton 2's and was wondering if the charging case would work for them. Thanks for the info.
I really enjoyed the review Kevin. Your videos are some easy watchin
I love that, thanks Connor. I think that sums up what I am going for - 'easy watchin''!

Can you set it on turbo and use while it’s in the charging case for a longer run time than 1.5 minutes

Awesome night shots. Looks like this flashlight can illuminate most objects 10 ft away. :D
Yes, a decent little flash light, but not a flood light.
Very good review. I have always been wary of anything powered by USB cords...good to know. Where does the other end plug into?

Great concept, I like it!👍
Thanks Wade, I really do like the concept.
Great review, Olight can thank you for the sale!
Thanks!
Got one . There awesome. Use it in my trucking job😎
Cool.
Like your reviews, great job keep them coming
Glad you like them!
Canadiens! Maybe next year bud!
Love the review 🤙
I believe you can charge the Baton II with this case too.
Yes, I believe so.
No one is saying how the Baton 3 is matching his beard?? 🤪
I wonder if Olight considered that when they sent me the flashlight? :)
I would like to see the orange version in the international market.
Recharging times ??
I haven't tested it from zero charge but the base easily charges in a couple of hours.
@@KevinOutdoors thank you !!!!

So this is not exactly an unbiased review is it
You think what you want. If you think I can be bought by a company sending me a free flash light then so be it.
@@KevinOutdoors I can be bought for beef jerky or donuts 😎
@@tjellis1479 Yeah but this is just a flashlight - not jerky!

Humm, I am curious why you would say that? Is it because I like this product? I was quite negative on my last Olight video.
