    ADDENDUM: IF YOU DON'T HAVE A SKILL, YOU CAN STILL DO THE CHECK, IT WILL BE YOUR ASSOCIATED STAT + 1D10 ONLY.

    This content has been so consistently good that I’ve started to send my players to your channel when they have questions that I know you can answer better than I can. This channel is a new player/gms best friend. Keep making the amazing content!

    This video is KEY for CP Red. The skill system can SEEM overwhelming at first glance, but after absorbing this tutorial it becomes more freeing. It was important for me to think of the skills in their associated bins on one hand, and as a way to create the EXACT type of PC/NPC I want with sooooo much latitude, on the other.

      exactly! at first seems a bit much but really once you "get it" it's pretty simple =)

    Another great video, I think the fact they put the skill difficulty chart in the book made me like the game even more. Being a fan of the WEG Star Wars RPG I am use to coming up with difficulty numbers on the fly and this helps make it fluid

    First of all thanks so much for doing these. Cyberpunk 2077 has made die hard DnD players like myself very interested in cyberpunk red and these videos have been great for giving me more context before I slap down money for the books. You’re doing great!

    Yeah this playlist rules. This is essential for GMs new to this game. Thanks! This is only deepening my appreciation for this system.

    What do you use for intimidation checks? We discussed this with our DM and ended up using the Facedown check. Mind you, this came up during combat, after my character dispatched two guys in a way that the DM found would be somewhat intimidating. We're not really sure what else would be best.

    Would be nice to have a table with which skills to use with social checks against n NPC. What do I use against bride, persuation, intimidation, etc

    • @CybernationUncensored
      @CybernationUncensored  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's not always that simple. Each situation has details the GM needs to take into account. For example, persuasion can be used to persuade, intimidate, seduce etc... so the way the player is using it may change how it's contested. Also sometimes you can use human perception to defend against someone trying to persuade or lie to you... each situation is different and up to the GM.

    Do negative modifiers stack? On that same note, how often do you use negative modifiers?

    • @CybernationUncensored
      @CybernationUncensored  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      yes you can always stack modifiers, depending on the conditions. Use mods anytime they are involved. Not every situation is under stress or without tools or in fog etc.

    Question on Social skills based on EMP. Do we use the max emp value, or do we use the current value. I have a player with a base 8 in EMP, but after cyberware are at 45.

    • @CybernationUncensored
      @CybernationUncensored  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      always use current values.

    Unfortunately the core book doesn't differentiate between a failed check and a critical failure. There's simply no difference between both, is there?

    • @MajinMind
      @MajinMind 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Failed check: didn't beat the dv
      Critical failure: rolling a 1

    • @thomasnihil4878
      @thomasnihil4878 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@MajinMind Yes but what is the "effect" or difference between them? According to the core rules there´s no different outcome - no matter if I just don´t reach the DV or if I roll a 1 and substract the additional 1D10 roll. In both cases I simply failed at the check. That´s my issue here. Greets

    • @CybernationUncensored
      @CybernationUncensored  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The difference is when you roll a crit fail, you have a BIGGER chance of failing because of the additional 1d10 subtracted from the total. Also a crit fail while using a "poor" quality weapon means it jams and takes your next action to unjam it.

    • @ArtAlv0613
      @ArtAlv0613 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can make a difference as the GM. AFAIK in most TRPGs most critical failures with consequences are just a house rules.

    • @thomasnihil4878
      @thomasnihil4878 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ArtAlv0613 Sure, I get that and many RPGs do specify those outcomes. CP2020 had a fumble table. Think my question is still valid imho. The regular missed check is not differentiated from the rolled 1 by the rules and they do not explain why I have to roll again and subtract from my first roll. What exactly makes it so CRITICAL is my question. So far critical failure outcomes are only specified for cheap quality firearms iirc. Greets

    If they don't put levels into a skill can they still use it? Like if they are trying to read lips, but don't have any levels in it. Would they just use the corresponding Stat or would they just not be able too?

    • @CybernationUncensored
      @CybernationUncensored  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      yes if you don't have a skill you just use your stat + 1d10
