I have ridden in the cold and what felt like an iron butt but not even half of one. Major credit to you for taking on two of them in such a short period amount of time AND in the cold
I think this is the third time I have mentioned this, but you can have the rear end gear ratio changed on the truck and it will make a huge difference in towing capacity rather than getting another truck. Retired RV Dealer here.

How much can you change the gears on the new vehicles before it confuses the computer and screws up the shifting? I remember this being a problem with the OBD-II when it came about in the Mustangs. But I agree, gears are everything. My Tacoma Access Cab has the 2.7 and weighs 4000 lbs., but it has a 4.30 rear and the 6-speed auto has a real granny gear for 1st. Us old school guys would never believe it's only 159 hp when you have a 20 foot Mastercraft behind it.
I've been off TH-cam for a while due to an emergency family situation, so I didn't know that you got a new bike. DAMN it looks good. Congrats!

Fun video Jess! I feel ya, sad to see Appa go at some point, but yeah I think it's also wise to do so.
I think it's completely up to you if you sell the bike to someone, or to a dealership or raffle it off, and the money from that is your payment for the bike.
I think the first 2 option seem more easy to get sorted and less of a hassle. And since Harley's do keep their value for quite a while you should be in the clear as well.

That's a good time for 1076 miles. I've driven many trips of 1k headed to my home state over the years. 1076 in just over sixteen hours. That's a great pace. Perfect. Nothing quite like that motivation to get home, that gives you that focus and drive to just go hard and get there.

We have over 100 springs within a 50 miles radius. Tons of rv camp sites with ocean view. The riding here is beautiful and way less congested then the tamp area and it's only 2hrs from Orlando and Tampa.
We also have tons of national and state Forrest to camp in for cheap cheap.
Pluss, you can swim with manatees. Who can say no to that.
I test rode a 2024 Road Glide, but ended up buying a new Indian Challenger Limited. The HD was good but the Challenger was a completely different level! Thanks for your awesome channel!

Just want to add another note. Having met you & Jordan in person last year at AdvFest I couldn’t picture the “mean wife” thing. You two are so good together and I think a lot of that in fact comes from how each of you is so totally accepted by the others that you are each so comfortable doing your own thing. A lot of folks are not used to that but having met you both (I spent how many hours chatting with Jordan??) it’s obvious that you guys work so well together. Jordan does his own (amazing) thing and I’m sure he’s thrilled to be back with his DR650 too! Rock on!

I just got 2019 indian chieftain steel gray a week b4 Christmas. I got it painted gloss white. The old owner installed the stage 3 116 bbk + an additional $5,000 in other mods. So me getting it painted, is way way cheaper then me buying all those mods. And now its all done, i dont gotta waste my time buying/installing everything. The only thing i still need is corbin heated/cooled seat, captain itch cc, tabs header cat-less, highway pegs, advanblack king tourpack trunk, "M custom cycles there police saddlebag crash drop guards",

I was given false information about the iron butt badge. Years and years ago I met a man that told me in order to get said badge you had to ride 11,000 miles in 11 days. It was then I conceded to never being an iron butt rider. I have done 1,000 in 24 hours, or less, 6 or 7 times, but as I couldn’t handle the 11 day gig I realized I would never be part of that community.
It wasn’t until I watched your video that made me wonder how you qualified for it, unfortunately unofficially, from this one trip and then got to sleep? I looked it up and learned I had been lied to.
If you get a chance, please educate people as to what it is and how they have to earn it. Thanks for the video, watching your reaction to your new bike makes all of us a little nostalgic.

24 road and streetglides are awsome. What a better product now, looks, tech, ect. vs the past years. I had 2 streetglides, 2 crossbones, a heritage softail, now a 08 softail custom . ( and its a fricking beauty too) if i wasnt 58, id buy that 24 roadglide. But i just dont have any drive left in me. I rode my custom 200 miles last summer. Im an old fart now!!! Your awsome tho. All my respect to you!! And that 24 roadglide is awsome. Im happy for ya. Wild hogs!!!!

Hey, I just went through what you are with the RV except I bought the bigger truck too. 😔 I did the math and between the payment, fuel and the RV park fees it was cheaper to stay in a hotel. Everything you are saying is very valuable to anyone thinking of getting a toy hauler.
At this time I still like my 2022 Heritage Softail. I have yet to test ride a 2024 Street Glide and / or a Road Glide and I have been to my dealer twice now within the past two weeks.

Totally get it. When I bought my 24 Ride Glide I had to trade in my owned 2021 RGL and people on the channel were bummed and some upset. I think after I explained the way like you have, people got it. Good luck in whatever you decide, but your bike is worth too much money to do that and you’ve worked too hard on debt.

I would just sell Appa. Raffles aren't awesome. I dig what Shadetree does, but I think a straight sale would probably go better for you. It is just my opinion. I know you are locked in pretty tight with Harley (no shade intended I love The Motor Co) , but more BMW R18 content would be awesome. That bike is a bucket list bike for me. I like your videos and enjoy following your journey. Thank you for the good content. Be safe out there.
I live in Alaska and I once hit a bird on my Utra while traveling at speed through Canada to the lower 48 States. Fortunately, it hit my windshield and not me. However the bird pretty much disintegrated, Scared the crap out of me. Also on a side note I loved how you said you were going to keep your bike pretty much stock and then a few minutes later showed the video of you getting new slip-on mufflers put on it. 😄😄😄Slip-on mufflers may not count though. Yeah, let's go with that😎😎🤣🤣Love your channel.

Jess! If you're wanting to make the 2024 a touring machine, consider upgrading the suspension. I'm having Legend front and rear installed in the next week or so. I've never ridden on anything but stock but everywhere I've read people have said it is like night and day. If it ends up being as good as everyone says, I'll probably move it up on my list of "things to modify first".

If this were the older generation, I would 100% agree with you! But for the first time ever, Harley has really put a lot of effort into their stock suspension on the new models! I have actually had zero issues with the stock suspension and I think it rides wonderfully! Not to say that a performance suspension wouldn’t be a good investment in the future, but as of right now, I feel perfectly content with what is already on the motorcycle!
Did you have to give the tour pack back or are you keeping it? I’ve been going back and forth with the King or the Chopped. I had the Chopped on my Street Glide but just traded that in for the new Road Glide same color you got. Loving it so far. Very nice bike.
I’m keeping it. The chopped looks better but the king holds two helmets. I like having that space

Raffle is a great idea. It would probably bring in more money than the open market. Plus, it increases the chances that someone would continue to love your bike.
I have done Tampa to north WV 1020 miles in 15 hrs. On my 2019 RGS what I do is, do a set a route on my bike, what it does then is record and show the start and finish times and number of miles travelled. I know it's not an official Iron Butt but for me I can take a picture and use it for my own bragging rights as all details are shown. I guess you can do that on Skyline OS?

As a long-distance cold weather rider, you have outdone me. My distance record is 912 miles,and my coldest long ride is 15h (664mi) at 28-31 degrees.

My first bike was a 1978 FXS Low Rider that I picked up in 1980 I have had numerous others!!! today I have a tricked out blacked out hot rod 2015 Steet Glide Special.... Ride safe
Ok kinda of an off the wall question ... if one was to buy a used or new van to double as a camper/motorcycle hauler would you recomend a Dodge Promaster Super Hih Roof 159" extended van or a Ford Transit Super High Roof 148" extended van. Ford does make an AWd van but they are very expensive.and out of my price range. I would prefer to ride my bike to wherever but in the rare times I need to haull it ... Thanks and God Bless

Awesome video great bike , but I just bought my 2023 road glide in May, so it's not worth trading it , I also would not buy a brand new model the first year they come out , they need to work out all the flaws first

@Her Two Wheels I’d recommend contacting volunteer audio. They’re working on a system for the stereo. They just did a video on the current 24 system and it was pretty interesting.
Not having to go in and pay for fuel was so good when I visited the US last year. In Australia, going in to pay is the norm so they can tempt you with their food and drink.
A painted inner fairing from the Fairing Exchange would look great.

How was the seat? I was feeling it after an hour or so. Mechanical issues ended the trip. Not sure if I need to swap it or if it will be good for my next trip.
Unload camper. Jordan stated it's falling apart. Get a 2 motorcycle trailer and cap for truck and tent camp. Many alternatives. I sold RVs for a bit they are bad investments unless you have money to burn
I get attached to vehicles & motorcycles myself but I would have to sell Appa & pay off some debt. I wouldn't mess with a raffle but maybe offer it up to one of your subscribers to buy him. Love the video!

I completely understand wanting your bike to go to a new home that will love it as you do. I get it. Maybe put the word out to friends, that you would consider selling it. I right person will come along. The other side, if you raffle Appa, whoever wins, has no skin in the game so to speak, a 5 dollar sticker could win. So my advice is to keep it long enough to come to terms in your head of letting it go. Then your decision will be easy. Have Peace.
I don't know how you do it Jess. Granted my wife is usually with me but 1k miles? I don't know if I could do it. Of Course you are 20 years younger but still. Kudos to you girl . Sell Oppa. Do what you have to do. We are debt free as well. I get it. Put that money back in the bank. I am in a similar situation. I have one I need to sell and I'm just procrastinating.

We drove down together, I had to get my new bike back home somehow.
I have a portable battery pack with a long charge cord that will run between my Cardo and the pack. I put the pack in my inside jacket pocket and recharge the Cardo. Then I put the pack on to charge from the bike. It isn't pretty but it works really well.
Do you need suspensions upgrade or stock are fine both front and rear?

...The dangers of anthropomorphizing bikes. A raffle would be nice but I understand those can be big headaches. I would bend Josh/ Dave's ears for advice on that option. I think you would get more out of it, overall, to sell it. By that, I mean you could do multiple things for multiple people with the proceeds of the sale without the headaches. I'm not 100% sure but I think the only rule you have in giving away something on you tube is that it can't just be for members only. Well, whichever way you go, best wishes Jess. I’ve got a good truck. I bought this truck just knowing I was going to make money because I see them selling for $60k. Well for sale for that but who knows what they are actually selling for. I paid $41,000 for this truck and after having it on a buddies car lot for 8 months only a couple people interested in it. But anywho I just want my money back. It’s a 2006 ford f650 with a caterpillar turbo diesel with an Allison automatic pushbutton transmission. It’s a quad cab with a timer Dually bed, power windows, leather interior. And 133k miles. Super clean truck. The guy I got it off of bought it from the bmx store danscomp in Indiana. It’s a bad ass truck I toldgee.
I absolutely love the Harley digi dash display . At the start of your video I'm riding an older kawasaki . Nothing so high tech

Question: Closing the exhaust valve must change the back pressure so why can the valve be opened and closed without having to remap the ECU?
Maybe. But i literally feel no difference in the delivery of power. I ride in “road mode” when I tour so it all kind of feels the same

Where did you find an aftermarket windscreen for your 2024 RG? I just got one and rode it this past weekend and was beat to death by the wind. I’ve searched for hours online and cannot find one.
I just bought the same bike she’s got. Same color. My dealer said no one has made aftermarket yet but companies are working on it. I just got the 12 in light smoke from Harley. Looks good and that wind is gone. I’m 6ft tall.

The factory ECM actually has active exhaust available in the tuning. Jeckel and Hide uses their own controller though i think.
You can velcro those pockets on the fairing for a few dollars in 2 minutes

Nope. After you connect them manually, they should connect automatically each time you start the motorcycle. But i do think you have to have your phone plugged in to the bike

One thing you might think about if you decide to keep snowbirding, instead of buying an expensive bigger truck, just pay a hotshot driver to take your camper to where you are going to be snowbirding and when you decide to go back home then pay a hotshot driver to take it back home for you. That would be cheaper than a huge payment on a new truck.

@@David-yp4fl I have done my best to take care of my Avalanche the 3 years I’ve had it. I bought it from a long time friend of mine who was the original owner and he also took care of it. There’s lower mileage ones out there but they are hard to find and the owners want a lot of money for them.

Get a pinlock for your visor, I have a LS2 and even in the rain fog is never a problem. I rode this winter down to 25F without heated gear so I spent the money to get a pinlock for my smoke visor and it was worth it. It has the built in flipdown but for me it isn't dark enough.

My crew all keep small power banks in chest pocket, for on the go Cardo recharge. We have one motor mouth who kills our Cardo batteries in 6-7 hours😝😅
