I did not write this song and I do not intend any copyright infringement. Rush-Superconductor from the 1989 album 'Presto'. Enjoy! Check my channel for more Rush lyrics videos.
I really think that he is talking about the satanic corporate demons who twist the truth and control mankind and they get off on it! And the MEEK shall inherit the earth and find their exquisite delight in it! Halleluyah! Amein!
That old bastard ,satan is the super conductor of this cursed world .Yahuah{YHWH} is going to crash his party in our life time ,HalleluYAH ,come soon Yahushua{yeshua} Amein.
I gotta say, this album has grown on me. At first listen, I wasn't very interested, but I listened to all of Rush's albums in order a second time through, and I liked this one a lot more the second time.
Thanks to finding this youtube channel I am discovering what an awesome album Presto is. I have long ignored it. It came out at a time when I wasn't listening to Rock much and I really missed out on a great album. I have always loved the cover art so I have always wanted to like the album but just never took the time.
Intense song, in expression and subject. "Superconductor", My "Rush - Song for the day" this November 1st, 2015 for the super intense times that we live in, speeding off into the future. As long as Rush is at the wheel, I'm along for the ride ! This one, lifts you up.
Catchy as hell, Geddy´s voice is out of synch with Neals downbeat, on purpose and thats Rush, masters of timming, complex structures of melody and criticism of the media market. all in one song!
Plus the echos on the "Superconductor" vocal spiral down out of pitch, might be hinting at pop vocalists inability to sing or lack of musicianship in pop in general
" Orchestrate illusion's. Hoping you'll believe !! " The tagline for 2020. I also for years have said to people with poor sales pitches "Well at least it's got a strong and simple beat! "
Always wondered about that cowbell on this! Not the 1st song that comes to mind when u think of "cowbell songs" and yet there it is; just 1 hit and it never reappears. Always wondered why Neil (who composed all of his parts) chose to use it in this particular song. My impression was that it was just a fun, whimsical choice for his 2 beat into.
I'm pretty sure the "pin the donkeys on her tail" part is just a fun way of referring to the producers chasing down talented young people hoping to capitalize on their abilities. Y'know, ass is another term for donkey n' all.
It could even be a stripper - fantasy for sale - and that does qualify as entertainment. The lines between stripper and pop star were blurred more thanks to pop stars like Madonna, who was massive when this album was written. The "asses" could be producers as well as photographers, fans, media channels, and everyone else who buys that image. The casualty is the music
satan is the superconductor of this cursed world system ,they have assumed control, they have assumed control, they have assumed control. Yahuah {YHWH} will recompense.amein
I was stationed aboard an FFG-7 Oliver Hazard Perry frigate when I bought the CD. Couldn't quite figure what the song was about. Then the night after I bought the CD during the Midnight to 4am watch I went through the lyrics. When I got to "pin the donkeys on her tail, fantasy for sale" it hit me. EUREKA! Adult entertainment.
e77: Then, toward the end of my watch, Chief, we took two torpedoes, broadside. 1800 men went into the water, 500 men come outta the water, the sharks got the rest, and my new CD sifted to the bottom--but we delivered The Bomb.
Cabo Wabo, it's about the downfalls of adult entertainment (strip clubs). Back in 1989 when this CD was released, I looked at the lyrics for this song. When I read "pin the donkeys on her tail", I knew what the song was about.
its about the entertainment industry as a whole. specifically pop music. not sure where the pin the donkeys equates to strip clubs. perhaps i missed something there.
Cabo Wabo from what I'm understanding, it's those who are the face of the entertainment industry and how they do things that they may not want to do to become famous. It's a fairly elaborate song so that's as far as I can narrow it down.
basically describing the entertainment inustry and how they sell illusion. the superconductor is the actor actress entertainer.....who is hoping you will believe, designing to deceive, because that's entertainment...an illusion to trick people into thinking their lives are crap while this actor is so "amazing" then eventually the actor never leaves his/her role as an entertainer because of the paparazzi...and they begin to believe the illusion that people really love them, but in reality people are in love of the concept that the person portrays. in the sense no one loves brad pitt with his faults, they love how handsome he is and how he acgted in a certain movie....am i making sense?
For a long time I felt bad for this song because it sounds like an awesome tune trying to break out of a lesser one. I guess I would have worked longer on it, arranged it differently, but that's just me.
Presto is one of my favorite albums
"Hits you in a soft place, a melody so sweet......."
That is ALL of Rush's music, to me!
I really think that he is talking about the satanic corporate demons who twist the truth and control mankind and they get off on it! And the MEEK shall inherit the earth and find their exquisite delight in it! Halleluyah! Amein!
The devil lulls most into a trance with the stupid smart phone ,SUPERCONDUCTOR.
That old bastard ,satan is the super conductor of this cursed world .Yahuah{YHWH} is going to crash his party in our life time ,HalleluYAH ,come soon Yahushua{yeshua} Amein.
they are awesome.
One of their catchiest songs. What a class act - their songs have such depth that you never tire of listening to them.
I totally agree! This song and Tom Sawyer should be on the radio 24/7!
so true... also never ever get tired of Xanadu or Lakeside Park
RUSH is the kind of band that makes me feel proud to be Canadian, phenomenal musicians and pretty awesome guys.
This song is describing satan!
Nocturne..is awesome
Seen them on this tour on LSD.
A spiritual awakening and a life long addiction to RUSH
this is energy in his more pure state omg!!
never heard this before. Awesome tune. But then all Rush songs are awesome in one way or another.
SZ: Nothing like a discriminating listener, eh?
I gotta say, this album has grown on me. At first listen, I wasn't very interested, but I listened to all of Rush's albums in order a second time through, and I liked this one a lot more the second time.
They grow on a person like a soft moss.

I just noticed that.

Background vocals are Rupert Hine and yes, the effect works well.

OMG thank you for posting this! heard this last night on the radio and was instantly hooked
Wow, I've never heard this on the radio. That must be a great station! (Yes I know this comment is 6 years old lol)
Best lyrics in the song - "reality withdraws - now she beleives it..."
The role becomes the actor.
brilliant
Another flat earth comment.
I see this in a new light . Peart is telling it like it really is , we are being put to sleep and manipulated.
" Orchestrate illusion's. Hoping you'll believe !! " The tagline for 2020.
I also for years have said to people with poor sales pitches "Well at least it's got a strong and simple beat! "
R.I.P Neil Peart 😔
Alex has a great voice
Love the cowbell...... the Ludwigs are not bad either.

The lyrics of this song aged like fine wine

I think Bobby Prince (Doom's music composer) was inspired by this song. Some parts sounds very similar to "E1M4 Kitchen Ace".
I always screw up trying to sing this song, as I start the the words about half a second after he says them. Still one of my favorites though!
its about the entertainment industry as a whole. specifically pop music. not sure where the pin the donkeys equates to strip clubs. perhaps i missed something there.
"Pin the donkeys on her tail, fantasies for sale"....any attraction to women for any type of pay off or advertisement
This song is about the satanic rulers of this world and their leader satan! now the NWO!Halleluyah!
a+
Always liked this song, but what does it mean?

Hi I recommend a song and video called 'Looking Into The Mirror' By Robert Nix
@@redskies4530 Thanks. Yeah, that was unnecessarily discordant. A good idea implemented poorly.
could this song be a reference to Maralyne Monroe
Now, Let's go out an buy something.
Another great flat earth song by RUSH, I love the part that says, hoping you'll believe designing to deceive that's entertainment.

Justin Bieber and Lady Gaga.
Some decent songs on this album. Too bad it was recorded with a tin can. Garbage production.
