      I absolutely disagree with anything N ° 1 Everyone says that the two-t bike is more fun. But it is complicated to exploit especially in the use of the engine (because it is not a motorbike for neophytes) So if you want fun you should get a 250F. Also because it is he who says it gives you more security and stability. So a light and ballerina bike is certainly no longer fun. N2 ° Ordinary maintenance. Absolutely the two t and more complicated only x the carburetion speech. Mixing is a bummer and if you forget .. So another error of the type. In that extraordinary one obviously wins the two t. (Which is better) N3 ° What bike to use in the race? I repeat the two t you have to know how to exploit it so if factory a 400 two t it would certainly be stronger if brought by a pro. Lapucci demonstrates daily. So the guy pays the "two seconds per lap" because he can't take advantage of a motorcycle (needless to say 15 years obsolete ..) 4th Ground Lapucci, or whoever goes fast for him, has shown that even on the asphalt the two t is more than competitive. Summing up. Like Covid. Unfortunately people on the web can say what they want and unfortunately many do not know how to understand the truth .. The guy contradicted himself several times. See maintenance or ease / fun.

But at my age now and the old aches trying to hold on to a 2 stroke it’s a lot of work. I still own a YZ 250 but I ride my 4 stroke 95% of the time, heaps of grunt but usable and I’m not stuffed after an hour riding. Love it! Also I think the 4 stroke sounds awesome also.

    I tend to use my 250f more than my kx125. But that's because I have to drive the bike on the road for hours to the mountain trails where I ride. I only use my 2T on tracks in the city or trails close by. We don't have the luxury of having a trailer where I live. Plus, labor here is so cheap, it's not a problem for me to order the parts and hand them off to a mechanic which charges LESS than $5 an hour for top rate work.

Once though I rode my friend 2 stroke KTM 250 carbs version. Love how 2 strokes have to be ridden harder with more skill whereas you can ride lazier on a 4 stroke, makes me feel more alive having to work the clutch more and also taming the bike, powerband, etc... Since I’m racing 2-3 classes though I’m hoping the 4 stroke will allow me to conserve energy a little more for the extra motos. Tyler, something you didn't touch on is the "style" of riding you plan to do. Most of the modern produced 2 strokes are much better "off track" than "on track". I realize this varies model to model and brand to brand; but it bears repeating.
    KTM / Gas Gas / Husky / Beta all make wonderful 2 Strokes that are not great on the track but are fantastic off track. If a new rider is looking to just weekend ride in the woods; I would heavily suggest looking at a 2 stroke of the appropriate size by any of the aforementioned manufacturers.

    Both good. I have a 2022 YZ250FX, and my buddy has a 2017 YZ250X. 4 stroke's more stable and planted, 4 stroke has more usable power, it's way easier to ride, it's more manageable. 2 stroke is lighter, way less stall happy doing hard enduro, the 250 actually has some decent low down torque, but most 2 strokes have a very annoying power curve since they only make power at the top of each gear. Maintenance is an interesting point, the 4T requires more frequent cheaper maintenance, whereas the 2T requires basically no frequent maintenance but they blow up more, so more big fixes. 100% getting a 2 stroke front end to feel planted is much harder than on a 4t. I will say for woods riding though a 2stroke is nice cause of the weight and the engine temps. 4t runs hotter and in the slow stuff is harder to handle and easier to overhear. Thats why i have a 450sxf and a 250xc. You can pick up older bikes for much less and have both and some cash to spare vs new. If you are riding for fun grab a yz250 of a ktm 250 from the mid 00s or newer and enjoy. Rm250s are great but getting hard to find.

    • @4touchdowns1game29
      @4touchdowns1game29 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      well it's not really similar. Four strokes make more power in general. Although in single cylinder small displacement applications where weight is an issue two strokes make the most power hands down. A single cylinder two stroke 250 makes more power than a single cylinder 4 stroke 250. Although when you add in diff engine designs like a 250cc parallel twin or inline 4 it's no contest. People are making almost 70 hp with the new ninja zx 250. Its hard to even get a 500 two-stroke to that power.

      That means
      At 9000rpms
      The 2 stroke had 9000 power strokes

    • @4touchdowns1game29
      @4touchdowns1game29 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@tonnyberben1770 more cylinders does make a difference. It allows optimal afr while allowing higher rpms. Before I became mechanically inclined I used to think the same. Since a two stroke fires twice as often it's making twice the power. First a 2 stroke loses about 25% of it's power per revolution compared to a four stroke because of lack of valves. A four stroke can have it's power stroke be self contained all the way through. A two stroke hits the opening on the cylinder wall about 3/4 down and loses all that compression. When four strokes topped out at 9000 rpm the two stroke was still faster because even though it was only 75 percent as efficient it was firing twice as much. Now that four strokes rev to 20000 rpms things are different. And I was talking na. Once you throw boost in the four stroke easily makes more power. Two strokes really can't be turbocharged efficienctly unless its a giant, heavy, scavenger type diesel system. The bra ham bt 52 for example was capable of almost 1400 hp from a 1.5 liter engine.

      Its really the point i made times 10
      The math you spoke of double the power and 25% loss is still 25% gain still seems way more powerfull
      And youre right a 4 stroke makes his combustion strike optimizing compression minimalizing compression losses with the valves but you still need 3 usseless energy consuming strokes to make that happen
      And make a f1 engine 2 stroke v10 thesame displacement (no turbos ) i bet the would be more powerfull
      Only downside fuel consumption and handeling ( look at the difference on a dirtbike ) imagen that in a car going 300+ kms
      For years they want to make it safer and safer
      2 stroke in f 1 would be a disaster resulting in many deaths

      That generally is wrong in all other comparisments
      Thats why i believe in f1 2stroke will be more powerfull because generally its known 2 stroke is more power for the same displacement Power would be higher but not faster since those 10 or 12 expansion exhausts wouldnt fit into the teams plan for aerodynamics
      Theres a race car with a flat 6 2 stroke engine 10k rpm 280 hp
      The exhaust on that thing is ridiculous 😂😛

    2 stroke makes you and teaches you how to ride in the power. Once the 2 stroke is mastered than its a good idea to go to a 4 stroke. Unless you wanna be a lazy rider for a while go right to a 4 stroke.

The biggest thing that I forget about, is the small amount of engine braking that you get on a 2 stroke. In all honesty it’s prefrence 2 stroke bikes last forever as long as u maintenance them regularly 2 stroker are the easiest bike to work on 4 strokes are known to be giant headache many things on a 4 stroke to keep it running all it takes is one thing to go out to cause it problems making it very hard to figure it out unless u know everything on that entire motor yes 4 strokes can last a extremely long time piston wise but the other parts to make it run west down fast and u wear out bolts a lot faster do to constant oil changes 4 strokes are much faster depending on the machine and upgrades but 2 strokes can last way longer than a 4stroke there are 2 stroke bikes from the 70-90s that are still going strong today but they come at a cost as well as 4 strokes after 10 years of a model the manufacturer stops parts. Being made so u have to rely on third parties for parts I stay away from Kawasaki because parts are very hard to get hands on even if its 2012 parts are hard I find that Yamaha and Suzuki and Honda are the most reliable companies to buy from Suzuki is making its way to strictly street bikes by each day goes I have owned pretty much every bike made weather it be a atv or dirtbike no matter what style u choose you still find a risk of not getting a part u need new 2 strokes only need top ends carb cleans reed replacement more often than a 4 stroke but they are the easiest to fix a 4stroke can be a money pit it honestly falls on do u pay a mechanic to fix it for u because a 2 stroke can be fixed without really knowledge at all if u have a manual for it or TH-cam itself on how to but a 4 stroke will cost u a couple thousand in shop labor and parts if u can get them before u jump on something u like do your homework on the bike your looking at make sure u can still get parts like a crank or a piston or just even small things like kickstart parts down to brake parts because if u can’t it’s not worth the risk even newer bikes from 2010-2013 parts have stopped being made it just really depends on your knowledge of fixing them and cost of parts 4 strokes will always cost more to fix than a 2 stroke a lot of people love a 4 stroke growl but when your riding u won’t be paying attention to that if u plan on making a really fast bike then buy 4 stroke if u want a bike that will last u for just regular fun go 2 stroke
