As someone who had only owned gas station flippers and generally a fixed blade guy that mostly uses knives for bushcraft, filleting, and hunting. I jumped on the civivi exarch immediately. You'd expect someone like my to be in the opposite demographic for the exarch. But it still keeps an edge after filleting dozens of fish and has zero corrosion. It may be an executive knife for EDC but I put it through it's paces and it held up. Got one for my dad who is the ultimate outdoorsman and he loves it.

Just got a Pintail with dark green micarta scales with the S35vn blade. It’s my first Civivi. I was blown away by the packaging and attention to detail considering the price. I can’t believe how smooth the action was right out of the box

Yeah, it really is. I have that version and the black g10. The wood variant is really nice for jacket and tie occasions. It’s just so dressy and “inoffensive” to non-knife people

Agree 100% on the brass scales for the McKenna...it takes a great knife to the next level. I had a G10/D2 version but after I got the brass/154CM variant...my green G10 never sees pocket time. Love the knife...my favorite for sure. Considering getting one in copper/damascus next.

Great video. . . I loved the anticipation of the reveal with all the pouches. (and the pouches ARE DEFINITELY one of the great things Civivi does with their presentation!)
My favorite Civivi is the Isham McKenna in Brass. Such great action, high quality feel, cuts like a laser (I use it for food prep all the time) and classy! 2nd is my Rustic Gent. I like the Elementum also, but I generally hate shadowbox liner overlays and agree with the lanyard hole. If they made the elementum with full coverage scales and no lanyard, it would be an almost perfect knife.
My knife would never see a pouch again.

In this last year I have acquired an Elementum, an Odium, Rustic Gent, an Incite with Damascus with a shredded carbon and gold in it, a Backlash and lastly acouple of days ago I just bought 5 Fracture slip joints!! I agree with how Great the Incite is. My gold, Damascus and shredded carbon It’s so good and awesome looking! It has incredible and Super SMOOTH action!! I only have 1 knife and that is the elementum. I feel like its a staple to have in any knife collection. I just got the classic grey scales but I am thinking about getting the wood scale back blade. It looks so good, but first I want to expand my collection and geta fixed blade next.

I just got a civivi Ortis about five minutes ago in the mail, WAS NOT expecting the pouch, cloth and stickers. I’m astounded with the packaging, and the action is awesome. It’s so light too!
If it had metal scales like the leek I’d probably call it the best knife in my collection, am planning on trying it edc with my leek

@@simplyknives7117 Right on. My Statera also has amazing action. Falls shut like nothing & rockets open. It's my favorite Civivi so far, but I did sand the cutout on the scales because the edges were pretty sharp. That was all it took to make it perfect.
I like the gold liners but, different strokes I reckon...
In the last 5 years the knife snobs have come out of the woodwork.
With the Asticus, I would consider buying some wood blanks in a species & grain pattern you like and make a set of flush (with the liners) fitting scales
And on the Dogma, maybe try choking back more on the handle and try index finger flicking it. Should prevent the web of your thumb from getting in the way of the flipper tab.
4:40 Now that's what I'd call a Wharncliffe😉 Beautiful damascus-style pattern on that, but hey, that's just looks. For everything else I'd just go with the much more affordable Tangram Santa Fe🧐 Nobody seems to love the Civivi Governor like I do ... but that's just fine by me😁
Esoteric the governed was ok. That’s the beauty of Civivi... quality and action are on point with all their models, so it really just comes down to size preference and aesthetics. 🔥🔥
I just ordered the Dogma. It came down to the Dogma and the Elementum for me. The Elementum got great reviews on TH-cam but a lot of bad reviews on Amazon.

I’d go with the Exarch over the Chronic.
I have 21 different models of Civivi knives so thought I would chime in. I obviously love the brand so won't argue with your (12) picks or the order of them other than 4 lol. Two simply because I do not own them (the Exarch and the Odium) so can not comment on them, one because it is simply too small for me and the other is a substitute.
The one I would disagree with you on (and you'll hate me for this) is the McKenna. For "me", it is just too small. I do like it and fully agree, if this was a mid size knife, I would not argue with your placement. I've basically taken off the clip and use it as a secondary in-pocket knife. My hands are XL..
The second "change" I would make is to substitute the awesome Mini Mastiff for the full sized one. If you're going to go with that pocket intrusive of a knife, might as well go large lol.
So after trading the big bull for the little bull, the three I would slide in there is the Vexer, Wyvern and the Plethiros. And a nod to the much forgotten Naja, if I may.
And I fully agree with being perplexed on the ones to choose and placement. But I definitely agree with 90% of your picks. Good Video!
Kirk Emerson totally see where you’re coming from. The Regular Bullmastiff is one of the very few Civivis I haven’t handled yet, otherwise it may have very well replaced the mini.

I was at southern edge knife works in Myrtle Beach, and I was talked out of getting the McKenna in favor of getting The exarch I had heard the exarch was an easier flipper combined with the hollow grind ... i got the exarch and sold my elementum that week 🤯 actually one I bought from slicey dicey lol
The Exarch is a great piece too! I just ever so slightly prefer the McKenna, which is rare for me because I usually favor bigger blades when comparing two knives.

I would have got the praxis in that tan color but all they had was black blade and green handle but it’s all good . I like it . I’m different . I like big knives 👀. Thick ones for the woods . Folders and tangs but I defintely prefer the folders unless I m actually really working with wood otherwise I’d bring a 17” hatchett seems to be a good size otherwise I d bring an axe and a chainsaw . Lol, I’m so tired 😔I feel delirious
I have an imperium in Damascus and I really like it, do you prefer the exarch in the Damascus or D2? Seems the Damascus would be better ? Definitely better looking
I’m torn. D2’s corrosion resistance is poor but it still performs really well. For performance I’d say D2 but looks, maybe Damascus

Alright so here’s my gripe with WEvivi (and yep this is absolutely a “not really a problem” problem)....they are ALL so good! Hahaha. I’ve gotten bored with them, which is absurd! Personal preference, their designs are stale to me BUT no matter which one you get they are terrific. Great products...just very meh🤷🏼♂️. I had the Praxis and HATED the gold liners...but again terrific knife. I would like to get the upgraded Elementum, I see a lot of value in that knife. But then passed that I really don’t need another Civivi. We are all drawn to a brand/style though...I really love Steel Will, some hate them. That’s one reason I love collecting knives so much, the vast difference in opinions!! Good video my dude!

The one thing that really bugs me about Civivi is they won't get that narrow edge out of the front finger choil. Why?? --- nonetheless... great video! It would be cool to see some of the other TH-camrs do their Civivi top 10s and send you some love in their take on it for the idea.

Great video my next knife will definitely be a civivi no doubt and you have given me an excellent opportunity to pick one that I think will work for me. They all look like great knives. I was wondering if you could answer a question I have on spyderco sorry I know your video does not talk about them. I just purchased my first spyderco and I kind of went I think more on the more expensive end then I should have. Its a sage 5 I have been playing around with it since I got it and I have cut myself twice now. I realize there will be cuts with any knife. But I was hoping the spyderco would make those cuts fewer and less often I’m not sure if the knife is too big for me I’m a woman with average size hands my hands are not typically small woman’s hands if that makes sense. I’m using the hole for my thumb and when I’m trying to open the knife I think my thumb is slipping out of the hole and it has landed on the blade I don’t know how this is even happening since I’ve Heard that it’s not very likely I o cut your thumb with the spydy thumb hole. Have you ever heard of this and would you have any idea why this would happen. I’m very knew to the knife world and I don’t know how this is happening? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated 🔪🙋🏻♀️
I’ve actually cut my thumb on a PM2 one time by doing that. You just have to be very conscious to do it more as a flick and not a roll. Another good alternative is to just spidey flick it open, then there’s definitely no way that can happen lol. I doubt it will keep happening though. The more comfortable you get with deploying blades, the easier it will be.

I bought a $50 civivi and got a pouch and microfiber cloth. Spent $150 on a Spyderco and it came in a cheap cardboard box lol. I want the new imperium that came out recently.

the only one I don't like that much is their cleaver, the way the ridge at the top continues thru to tip makes it looks like a broken knife. I'm sure it's awesome tho, haven't seen a Civivi that sucks, ever, lol.
Their mastodon is the same profile minus the fuller so you might like that one.

Naja baby! Too bad they don't make it anymore. I've been carrying one as my EDC for two years. I never thought I would carry such a big folder in my pocket (as opposed to in a belt pouch) but it really doesn't get in the way when using the pocket clip.

Very close to the Incite dimensionally, but was half the price. The flat grind (on both the Naja and the Incite), which I REALLY LOVE, requires the wide blade to have enough spine. I can see that Shredder getting snapped in two very easily.
The McKenna? A clear case of form over function. Looks like it would be good for opening boxes, I guess. Not much else.

@@andremartinez418 Yea, I run Adblock Plus on all my desktop browsers and I have a Pi Hole running as DNS but unfortunately I normally frequent YT with iDevices and I haven’t found a good way to block them there. It has gotten REALLY bad over the past week or so. Don’t know what is going on but I can’t hardly watch any videos anymore without two ads every minute and a half or so. Quickly reaching the threshold that I’m simply not going to watch anything at all. Congratulations YT, you’ve jumped the shark on adpocalypse.

@@MZN2906 - The Ortis is much, much lighter and more fidgety (if you can do the reverse middle finger flick thing). And, it’s the sharpest out of the box Civivi I own. I personally prefer the Praxis, largely because I am terrible at the reverse middle finger flick, and the action is so smooth. It’s almost completely fall-shut.
I've had the impression the ortis will have smoother action from that ceramic ball bearing. Man, all these videos yet I still can't make up my mind. Wish I could own both but I just can't.
@@MZN2906 - You can’t really go wrong with either of them. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed, either way. And, if you’ve found a good deal on the Ortis, at worst, you’ll have gotten a great deal on a great knife. You can always get the Praxis later, maybe when you find a great deal on it, too.

My problem is that Civivi knives all seem to be copies of other knives. And I think we should stop funding our own downfall.
