A no copyright professional recording of Bach's WTC.
This fugue is in five voices and I classified them as follows:
First Treble
Second Treble
Alto
Tenor
Bass
The main purpose of this video is to analyze the structure of the fugue, which includes its entries, the parts, the coda, etc. We can also see in this video where the episodes are derived from.
Proper interpretation of the piece in terms of performance may be talked about in a different topic.

So many things happening in this fugue 😮 Great analysis! 🤩
Thank you for this analysis of such a great fugue! Also, I believe there is yet another main (red) theme in the basso from the middle of bar 97 to bar 100
Marvelous analysis ! Thank you so much !
Fyi. The subject pattern is commonly known as the cross
The light green countersubject resembles the crown of thorns, and the dark green countersubject resembles pounding nails.
P.s. Although the green and dark green are still debatable, the main subject remains known as the cross
Agreed. Heard about such symbolisms about the fugue! The 4-note subject represents the cross, the quavers subject is crown of thorns!
After measure 94, the crown of thorns subject stopped appearing because He was depositioned/removed from the cross!
It is no second countersubject, it is a second theme.
Play this fugue at 0.75 speed! That's the correct tempo!
Actually this fugue is a triple fugue, a fugue with 3 subjects. The quaver figure and 3rd theme are not counter-subjects because they also appeared without the 1st 4-note subject. If they are counter-subjects, they should only appear when 4-note theme appeared. And counter-subjects are not used in stretto.
For whatever reason, I really didn't expect you to appear here.
@@play3r.wav. Where else should I be?
@@mtv565 I don't know, I almost find it pleasant that we managed to find ourselves both here again.
By the way, in case you didn't remember who I was, check the notifications.
@@play3r.wav. Oh ok. This is still Bach, no surprise that I'm here

The main fugue theme only has 4 notes. Do not include the 5th note, it's not part of the theme
