    U are funny...trust me! I speak for many when I say " this entire job is not no where easy " for us regular folks.

      Lol, I had to climb on top the engine like a monkey and it still took 30 min to get that one nut and bracket off the back of the block.

      Would have been much harder without the video, I think it's really well done, but yes, I'd take issue with the "easy" meter at the beginning. It's at least an intermediate level job. Miserable. Maybe if you're on a lift and have done these a bunch of times, but the part where it runs along the transmission, up the bellhousing and behind the motor is not easy to access. The lines being in two sections are the only thing that keep this from being a much more difficult job, nothing against the product, just the "easy" in the video...

    Thanks for the video and the line kit as well.
    I wouldn’t say that the job was easy , especially laying out in the street for about 6 hours - but with patience it’s doable. Especially with the video as guidance. I’ve had my truck over 20 years and after replacing the fuel pump for the 3rd time the lines needed replacing due the the severe rust from the great northeastern rust belt. My truck has running boards which impeded access for me to the abs pump. Being that my truck is so rusty - a hole saw through the running boards fixed that problem. A few extensions to about 4 feet got me to the bellhousing bracket.
    Again, thank you for the video. It was of great assistance with my installation

    For anyone wondering about FL149-DX (this video is for FL149-D):
    There are some small differences between this kit and FL149-DX which is for similar vehicles with flex fuel. The difference is the flex fuel sensor and the lines connecting it. In the kit shown here, there's a short hard line in front of the filter that connects to a flex line and then again to a hard line all the way up to the fuel rail. All of these appear to be provided in the kit. For the "DX" version, the fuel filter is different, the front of it doesn't have a line nut connected hard line, it's a flex line with a quick connect. That short line goes to a quick connect on the fuel sensor just inboard from the fuel filter (top port on sensor). Out of the sensor (bottom port) there's a quick disconnect flex line that goes to the line nut connect to the line that goes forward to the fuel rail.
    I did see one document saying that the original short flex line between the fuel filter and the fuel sensor was stainless and reusable, and was not included in the kit. That does not seem to be the case here. As far as I can tell the kit is complete, including with fuel filter.
    Other than this small change, this video appears to match what I'm seeing with installation of the FL149-DX on my L59 (flex fuel) 2004 Yukon thus far.
    I'm a first time customer but this appears to be a very nicely made set, comparable to or better than OEM quality (I say that because they're made in 2 sections connected by flex lines so possible to get in without completely disassembling the vehicle), and was great to find because the dealer told me the line that I broke changing the fuel pump is no longer available from GM. Definitely not cheap but anything else I found looked like some kind of makeshift braided lines that I couldn't ever verify was complete. I was also almost shocked at how quickly it was delivered, from Nova Scotia in Canada to NY State in the US in under 24 hours for free, so I'm sure some what is worked into the price is the free shipping. As the saying goes, low price, quality and speed, pick 2 of the 3. You get what you pay for.
    One last thing. Every Ford or Chrysler product (and import) I've worked on since at least the 90's had plastic or stainless lines. This is my first GM vehicle. Why in the world would GM use mild steel for fuel lines? Was it really worth saving the little bit of money? There's a lot I've found that I like about our Yukon over Ford and Chrysler but this is not one of those things.

    060922 Chevy 2002 Avalanche 1500 developed a fuel leak. Presently figuring how to take off or bring down the fuel tank. I think the exterior fuel pump metal fuel hoses are really rusted and cracked. Don't know yet. Discovered need to change the fuel lines as well (OMG!). Really big jobs. First time DIY!!! Few days of searching and watching lots of how to videos . I am so thankful I finally got to watched your video. I need to fabricate that DECOUPLING connectors thing. Again thank you. God Bless!

      Good Afternoon Summerside Adventures,
      Sorry for the late reply!
      When removing that bracket our mechanic used a long extension, swivel, and a socket. He also mentioned that the longer the extention the easier it will be. He used a 2 foot long extention but it is not required to be that long. He runs the socket and extension in line with the drivers side of the
      transmission and pointed upward at the front.

    Another thank you for the video. I was able to use it for my 2005 Escalade EXT. Did have one question. My front driveshaft would not turn when trying to reach the u-joint bolts. I tried putting it in neutral. What did I need to do to make the front driveshaft move freely?

      Hi Tom,
      You will need to put the vehicle in 2 wheel drive.
      If the front drive shaft will not turn the vehicle is in 4 wheel drive and the front driveshaft will not be able to turn freely

    This job is so frustrating, took over an hour just to pull lines from front and they were unbloted already. Had to drop fuel tank to unhook lined that was 3 hours and a freaking mess. Now all plastic clips broke that held lines together and these lines don't appear to fit together like oem so really need clips or its a bundle of shit getting shoved back up to engine compartment, really ought to offer new clips to purchase in package, can't find a place to but yet....

    • @LinesToGo
      @LinesToGo  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello James,
      The shark bite unions we use in our kits are rated up to 290 PSI.
      The only section in this kit with a shark bit union is your vapor line. it is not a high pressure line.

    what if you cross the lines

    • @LinesToGo
      @LinesToGo  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello,
      The only lines that could possibly be “crossed” would be the vent and the return. Doing this will stop the fuel from returning to the tank and would instead go to the charcoal canister, which would quickly overflow the canister and leak on the ground. Destroying the charcoal canister in the process.
      It would not work to cross lines.
