Honestly, Can someone explain to me WHY is there a GOAT MAN (who I never heard about) and NO BEAST-MAN ?!! BEAST MAN is essencially one of the biggest villains from the lore. And he isn`t in the movie???
I think it's an error. Maybe a typo or something. I mean, when I look at The Mountain, I DEFINITELY see Beast Man. Or, maybe, they're giving us a low-tier villain that can get killed off without much fuss, so they can make the heroes look badass and save his master, Beast Man, for the sequel.
Goat Man originally appeared as Beast Man's lackey in a Golden Book from 1985! so to have *him* and NO Beastie (?!?!?)... Beast Man has and always will be mah favourite for a multitude of reasons! To not have him there would be a travesty of the highest degree!!! 😩
3 things: 1. He Man creator Roger Sweet said that Dolph Lundgren was TOO THIN to play the strongest man in the universe HE MAN is a VERY MUSCLE guy and that kid (the Hollywood actor) would take at least 10 years to have a similar physique! 2- The forced inclusion is going to screw up the movie since there ARE African American characters in the ORIGINAL INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY. Like for example Clamp Champ, Melaktha, Garn and Shokoti (where two of them were created by the only African American 1984 screenwriter Don Manuel) I mean those "WOKES" who think they have the ability to make a He Man movie... THEY DON'T KNOW ANYTHING! 3.- Idris Elba should play Melaktha or Skeletor 👍🏻👍🏻 and Phil Heat as Clamp Champ 🏆
lol Yeah I LOVE the 1987 MOTU Movie but even as a Kid I said Arnold Schwarzenegger would be the perfect He-Man. I'm fine with Idris Elba, It is VERY HARD for me to envision his portrayal of Man-At-Arms at this early stage though. My problem isn't with the Cast, my problem is with the STORY. Casting at the end of the day is subjective, and everyone will have their own personal bias and can deal with that on their own. But if the story isn't good it won't succeed at all.
The people making this garbage have already told us "it's going to be different". Might as well say 'we don't want the fans that have kept the franchise alive for us to ruin.'. Given what they are saying and who they're casting I will not be wasting my time watching this.
They mean that because it's probably gonna be a R rated movie which is awesome..I want it bloody n violent like the comics..hope they don't mess it up or the upcoming ThunderCats movie?
I keep saying I'll believe it when I see it, but I REALLY want A MOTU Movie so I am holding out hope that we'll get a decent movie. @dadsbedtimestories2940
lol @jessiemartinez3056 That's not likely, they want a WIDE audience this will be PG at the most. The Thundercats Movie is definitely in Development Hell.
The movie might definitely be crap... but went not Idris Elba as man at arms? He'd be perfect actually. It's another planet so black or white won't make a difference to the character
While I'm generally not a fan of race swaps, I don't hate this casting. Idris is a great actor and can do the character justice. The Leto as Skeletor casting is what has me worried. Ultimately though, it's the way they're having the story start on Earth that is going to F this movie up. Literally noone wants that. I wish they would just do a movie version of the 2002 shows orgin story. That version really nailed it.
@@megajayretro 2 things: 1. He Man creator Roger Sweet said that Dolph Lundgren was TOO THIN to play the strongest man in the universe HE MAN is a VERY MUSCLE guy and that kid (the Hollywood actor) would take at least 10 years to have a similar physique (I'm a professional bodybuilder and a He Man FAN for 42 years) just in case! 2- The forced inclusion is going to screw up the movie since there ARE African American characters in the ORIGINAL INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY. I have been watching and waiting for this Masters of the Universe movie for 35 years. All I have seen is attempt after attempt fail. I have no reason to believe this will come to pass. As you said, " I will believe it when I see it!"
Exactly how I feel @keystoyourhealth2688 I'LL BELIEVE IT WHEN I SEE IT. So many years later, so many promises... I won't hold my breath until I see the first trailer!
@megajayretro You and me both, brother. But Netflix is invested in making Teela and the Masters of the Universe now while Prince Adam sits on a bench wondering where his life went wrong.
They have once again overlooked the perfect medium for this franchise. Motion capture. They could make the characters look perfect with zero compromise. Cast the perfect voices for the roles and their physical appearance would not be a factor. (I said the same thing about Tomb Raider; Keeley Hawes as Lara's voice and facial capture, and various athletes and gymnasts for her body movement.) Live-action films don't actually need to be live-action anymore.
2:00... That means "reimagined for a modern audience" which means not for the people who have supported the IP since they were reading the back of cereal boxes at breakfast before watching Space Ghost, Captain Caveman, Johnny Quest, Herculoids, Thundar the Barbarian etc
As far as the movie itself I'll say what I've always said. I'LL BELIEVE IT WHEN I SEE IT. We've been promised time and time again for a MOTU movie, but it ALWAYS Falls short. I'm hoping that this is the exception... BUT if the story isn't good it won't succeed at all.
This movie is going to fail, especially having Jared Leto as Skeletor. Jared Leto sucks as an actor, I never heard anyone say, check him out as the Joker, he was so awesome. Not to mention, already race swapping characters, I already see the movie as a failure. Ignoring what made Masters of the Universe what it is, by saying it's going to be different.
Yeah it's hard to see how he will play Skeletor, I just hope he doesn't go full Filmation Skeletor that would be terrible lol. Now if he can channel Frank Langella we've got something good!
@Aelbandii lol yup just like I've always said. I'LL BELIEVE IT WHEN I SEE IT. So many times we've been promised a MOTU movie, so many times it's come CLOSE but then cancelled. @solomonallen3524 if the story isn't good it won't succeed at all.
@@megajayretro it's coming the budget has been approved and casting is underway and the Director has been chosen and paid basically the script has been greenlit And the release date is locked down Which means the movie will open big and have a 90% drop off by next weekend and will be deemed a box office flop.
My problem is Jared Leto he is a great actor. But when he is given creative control of a character. Which I can really see this happening. Look at the Joker from Suicide Squad 2016. There were a lot of mistakes there. Then the latest Tron film. In which he plays the lead character. For me a dark cloud hangs over that film. So I will have my misgivings about his casting til I see the film. Idris Elba on the other hand knows what he is stepping into. As he has done similar films with the Marvel and Sonic films. So I trust him with the role.
I have the same sentiment @michaelrlomax1977 in the end we'll have to see how each actor plays out their rolls and if they can bring something new to their performances without going too much outside the spirit of the original characters they are portraying
Forget the "leaks." Remember how Force Awakens was supposed to reveal Rey as a Kenobi? Or how Michael Bay's Ninja Turtles were gonna be aliens? And how Doctor Doom was gonna be a mid-credit reveal in Wakanda Forever? All CONFIRMED from RELIABLE SOURCES!? Pepperidge Farm remembers. Me, I'll reserve judgment until we get something more concrete, like a trailer.
Mega Jay Retro Two MOTU fan films have already been made: Fall Of Grayskull and Fall Of Grayskull 2 which honors the source material! Tuesday Knight sings an outstanding cover of "I Have The Power" I think you know about this already? The so called fourth coming MOTU is garbage LOL!!
Daniel Benedict's Fan Films are amazing efforts for the fandom! The FOGS part 2 is looking AMAZING and I'm looking forward to meeting Daniel at ToyLanta / Power-Con in March!
It's really impressive how much efforts is put in making this franchise a failure. I mean how difficult is to have an epic saga SIMPLY following easy guidelines? Even without inspition or efforts, just putting the DC Masters of The Universe Eternity saga (or the wonderful prequel story - which I imagine they're using as a blueprint for the story of He-Man growing on earth with enough modifications) on screen would suffice to have an easy success. Honoring the IP and the character. What I find utterly stupid is this insane idea to change the story and appearence on a franchise thats survived this long on his stories and iconic looking characters. It's so stupid it feel unreal. And by the way I don't dislike the casting at all. I think the main mistake here is the story and the negative hype they're creating.
Totally agree @angelodichello6317 I'm going to echo what I've been saying all along I'LL BELIEVE IT WHEN I SEE IT. My problem isn't with the Cast, my problem is with the STORY. Casting at the end of the day is subjective, and everyone will have their own personal bias and can deal with that on their own. But if the story isn't good it won't succeed at all.
Hello, from Germany! The new translation function does a good job and is very ok! The pace of the AI voice changes a bit every now and then, which I have adjusted the pace from time to time! But that's not too bad and bothers me, personally not! I think that such "malfunctions" become less over time and that this technique, the communication on YT, can really enrich! What WE make of it is up to US (insults or respectful, deal with each other! ) I like the respectful handling and therefore wanted to give a short feedback! P.S. I am also rather skeptical about the film, since many film projects, unfortunately, were or are currently rather disappointing! Better not to expect too much at first! For good communication, Folks !!! ✌🤘😉
Movies gonna suck worse than the 80s one.Which we hated as kids BECAUSE it took place on earth… so I know, let’s make the new one take place on earth again AND let’s even make He Man an “boring office worker” that way everyone can relate….🤪🤮
@@megajayretro Looking back on it it actually wasnt anywhere near as bad as us 5th graders found it at the time LOL we were just pi55ed off that we didnt recognize any of the characters, and where's ORKO?!?! A Yosemite Sam lookin dwarf instead of Orko!?! smh The reason I think this is a huge mistake is that the film needs to take place IN ETERNIA. ONLY. But they are afraid the casual audience wont relate... Hollywood never used to care about that as much as they do today so Im not surprised just wildly disappointed.
Although it would not bring in new, younger fans, I would rather just see fan made shorts done with stop motion and action figures. At least those would be a labor of love, rather than some non-fan changing and butchering the source material.
He man needs to look like my thumbnail greedy gruesome He don't need to look like a pretty boy New adventures of He-Man if this guy is not bigger than Chris hemsworth we got a problem yall seen what they did to the dragon Ball z movie they made Goku white it took place on Earth the whole story got crossed up it was garbage and flopped horribly
lol I don't disagree with you @4thecollectors I've always thought He-Man should be HUGE. BUT acting is part of that, and most body builders can't act. Chris Hemsworth would most certainly be the right choice, or Alan Richardson. But the budget would ballon for the cast alone (we already have Idris Elba). I'm scared of the Earth Storyline too. I think Masters of the Universe Franchise is parallel to Star Wars in some ways and done correctly could be as big Star wars if the franchise could escape the Cammy 80s like Tim Burton did For Batman in 1989😮 if you're a comic book guru personally you don't really have to start with He-Man to tell Masters of the Universe story in the beginning start with a prequel with the Evil Horde empire King GraySkull and He-ro the back story before He-man.
I see where you're coming from @greywolf7583 it really is all about respecting the source material. Love your idea of He-Ro too! You're right if the story isn't good it won't succeed at all.
So... no Cringer/Battlecat or Orko (since no voice actors were mentioned) 😢. To me, He-Man without his tiger is like Knight Rider without the car... But knowing my luck, Battlecat and Orko probably show up as quick cameos at the end 😐
@trikeonabike4949 yeah according to Nicholas Galitzine they're going on their own direction and it will be treated as bible. So for now No Orko confirmed, and if Battle Cat does show up probably won't be voiced at all.
They need to stay the hell away from earth. And if they do this, the only good reason would be if they were hiding Adam from Horde Prime and The Horde didnt know of the existence of earth because of its great distance. So Marlena takes Adam there to protect him after Hordak successfully kidnaps Adora. The earth portion should be no longer than 15 minutes, then BOOM, they are gated to Eternia and away we go!
Who is Goat man? We need Triclops, beastMan, evil lin, Merman, and trap jaw with skeletor. On the Mastets side, Teela, man at arms, stratos, ram man, and buzz-off. I could care-less about new viewers give me He-Man before I die. P.S Make Battle Cat cartoon accurate.
Oh Jay - Oh Jay - what can i say. Like you - i am SUPRA on the fence about everything coming out about this proposed movie. As much as i ♥ MOTU - especially the original classic series and the 87 live action (has a little place in my heart); i've felt the newer iterations just can't even come close (tho the geek in me loved having Luke Skywalker and Captain Kirk clash as Skelly and Hordak appropriately). the casting choices have been bizarre to say the least. I will say i am not too familiar with Galitzine or his work OR whether he can pull off He-Man or not - and if that IS his huge "bulk up"; that honestly can't be too healthy. also thinking the studio's pulling a fast one on us and Bjornsson *might* actually be Beast Man (???) given his look and stature... unless they really do just want to go with Goat Man (???); either case i side with Nunonobre7822! that all said - i can NOT see Leto as Skeletor... and given Leto's more... recent acting choices😩. who knows - he *may* surprise us all, he's done some interesting work. but like you said - when it comes to live action - i don't think anyone will ever top Langella's performance - he was truly a Master of that Universe!!! what few pluses i see here are actually, yes - Idris Elba. he certainly can play the inventor/warrior but also play the mentor and father. i can also dig the proposed director Travis Knight - having done some really decent, eclectic work including "Kubo and the Two Strings" and the re-vamped "Bumblebee". i just hope for the best - hope they capture the spirit of the original and embrace the *fun* we cherish. last thing i have to say is - we can NOT put too much faith into these falsely generated pics and trailers - patience truly IS a virtue. Orko'd better fly, Cringer better talk and if they need a background character - have them give moi a call!!!!!!! 👼
I see the end of the movie begin open ended with say Hordax or She-Ra cameo, I'm sure Cringer will be in movie only as a pup as I think the movie will concentrate more on He-man's side characters hero buddies than the Villain, either way I still won't be watching it just not my thing, but I won't be dumping on it because it's good thing that it's being made as it gives hope to other movies down the line 👍🏻👍🏻
So it’s different than the original although people who they know will watch the movie only remember the original. No one is going to go see it. Let’s see how this loss of cash will affect them.
Luke skywalker and his sister were white but their dad was voiced by a black man. Are we gonna ban Star wars too because the fictional representation isnt accurate?😂😂
My problem isn't with the Cast, my problem is with the STORY. Casting at the end of the day is subjective, and everyone will have their own personal bias and can deal with that on their own. But if the story isn't good it won't succeed at all.
I don't hate the cast. Most are fine. Alison Brie could be fantastic as Evil Lynn. (Regarding the AI images, Evil Lynn has short silver hair, but that coesn't matter as it should be concealed, not down on her shoulders. Flowing hair is too humanising. She should be stern and cold, so covered hair like a nun would be better.) Galzatine certainly is handsome, just hope he can act. I don't mind the race-swapped Man-At-Arms, but less keen on the latina Teela. (Another redhead bites the dust.) 😞 I can somewhat understand why you might consider Leto for the role of Skeletor, but why do people keep casting him? Isn't he sort of, box-office poison? And I've heard he's a total dick in real life. Surely Mads Mikkleson should have been the obvious choice.
@drewlovelyhell4892 Great comment, yes I have to say that the REAL deciding factor is Story. The Story is where this movie will Succeed or Fail. Casting at the end of the day is subjective, and everyone will have their own personal bias and can deal with that on their own. But if the story isn't good it won't succeed at all.
Man At Arms is white. I'm tired of race swapping. Why not throw in Clamp Champ if you want a black character? Can you imagine the backlash you would get if you decided to cast a white guy for the role?
My problem isn't with the Cast, my problem is with the STORY. Casting at the end of the day is subjective, and everyone will have their own personal bias and can deal with that on their own. But if the story isn't good it won't succeed at all.
@megajayretro so what you're telling me is that it's okay to make a movie about Fat Albert and cast an all white cast, and the only thing that matters is the story line. Cool. Got ya.
So are they basically giving him the She-Ra storyline I wouldn't be surprised I'm upset about the man of arms love Ezra Alba I'm sure he'll do a great job I just wish they would stop the race swapping it should have made him the black fisto or sunman and I think the script that they have that have heard is going to flop the movie they should have had a major star b he-man's mother and her be a astronaut crash land on eternia and then tell the story they just keep doing the same thing and then I'm going to keep having flops look how everybody bitched about Revelations just imagine if they change the storyline in the direction the movie wants to go it's not going to work He-Man has a twin sister Shira man in arms is tila's dad Adam and tila grew up together they're just messing the whole lore up
It's not exactly Adora's story. Adora was Kidnapped and raised by the Horde to believe she is doing the right thing serving the Horde. This movie is pointing to Adam "Escaping" Eternia and growing up on Earth, so it's not only a fish out of water story, but it also raises the question: Why would someone who grew up on earth fight for a PLANET he has never known. I don't mind the casting for Idris Elba, but it's just so hard to separate my image of Duncan as he's always been the same since the very first toy, Filmation, Mike Yonge, Netflix Revelation, and Revolution he's always been the same. I'm looking forward to Idris Elba's portrayal, but right now it's hard to see him as Duncan. In the end it will all come down to Story, and the Earth Connection is NEVER a great start for Masters of the Universe.
@megajayretro thank you for that explanation j I personally think what they revealed so far is a mistake now I do like the he-man actor in the way he's explaining things so we're going to get nostalgia with new age but every time they change the original story though it never works out if they made a top-notch origins correct He-Man I think it would be a hit and they just need to add diversity characters already in the master verse not change original characters but at the same time they may be able to pull it off because we really don't have anything about He-Man as kid or young man I guess or did he turn to He-Man when he was 18
@chrisoliver2 that's fair enough, I am not expecting big things from this movie, but I have hopes that it will at least be a decent film. We will just have to wait and see.
Easy @MrX-kq6zm the choice of casing is based on the appropriate actor for the job. I adore Idris Elba, but I am having a hard time seeing him as Duncan as I've always had the Filmation Duncan as my Man-At-Arms, and he's been mostly the same character these past 40+ years. But if Idris Elba can bring his charm, and wit to the character making him better in this film. I welcome it as he is an incredible actor. The MAIN issue is THE STORY... WHY EARTH???? WHY?????
@@megajayretro Thank you for replying to my comment. Normally people get ignored or banned who have a different opinion! So my respect to you! Well I know what you mean and basically im also seeing it that way. For example He-Man, i cant imagine the new He-Man Actor as him but im quite open and would wait until I see him in the role. Like with Batman 89, where everybody was critical about Michael Keaton as Bat Man and surprise, surprise, he is now (for me) the greatest Bat Man of all time! But the difference is that I really really can't stand when, because of a political Agenda, they change the ethnical Background of a Character! I cant stand this and am strongly against that! It is completely against all logic and on so many layers wrong!!!! And no, I dont blame the Actors, because Idris Elba is a great and charismatic Actor but im against the politics behind the decision. And anyway there is a black original Character in MotU... guess who? Yes Clamp Champ!!! Why didn't they let him play that Character...?!?!? This is the million Dollar Question...!!! Im so done with Hollywood and the whole western Game Industry, because especially in the last 5-10 Years they completely went crazy with all the political stuff and it makes me so upset. And whenever I see that in a new movie or Video Game im completely out and loose my interest. Thats why I mostly (98%) watch and play asian content, because there they treat old and new franchises with respect! And they treat the Fans like adults and not like here in the west like children which must be lectured.... 😞
@MrX-kq6zm I can't speak to political agenda as I steer as far away from that as I possibly can. As far as the movie itself I'll say what I've always said: I'LL BELIEVE IT WHEN I SEE IT. Casting at the end of the day is subjective, and everyone will have their own personal bias and can deal with that on their own. But if the story isn't good it won't succeed at all.
I also had a hard time with Idris in this role, but combining his Heimdall and Stacker Pentecost (Pacific Rim ) characters could work. As a black man, I'm not a fan of race-swapping in most movies with established characters.
Exactly brother, I've ALWAYS associated Duncan with the versions I've seen before, this isn't about being black or white. As for a performance, I'm SURE Idris Elba will SLAY the roll of Man-At-Arms. Casting at the end of the day is subjective, and everyone will have their own personal bias and can deal with that on their own. But if the story isn't good it won't succeed at all.
My thoughts on this new project - I'm going to reserve judgement until I'm sitting in a theater and watch it from start to finish. Its very hard for me to have any preconceive bias's because I'm older than the generation this license was made in. But I find it odd that you have any reserves given how much you turn the cheek for the initial effort made with Dolph Lundgren. Can we be real just for a moment? That movie was a dumpster fire. Little of it looked like the cartoon; the added characters were embarrassingly stupid; and the effects even for its day were sadly low budget. Now if you can forgive ALL THAT and embrace that movie simply because you were still young, then why be so quick to dump on this before seeing a single frame of footage or even an official pic of the characters? Is a black actor in a supporting role really upsetting to you? Have all the years of forgiving the first film made you intolerant to any new changes? Maybe therein lies the problem. But lets at least see a trailer and see what they come up with before you cast it all aside because they don't look like your action figures. Dolph didn't either.
Turn the Cheek? Um... @Playitstraight44 I'm being HONEST when I say that the Masters of the Universe 1987 Movie is one of my childhood favourites. I know that's hard to believe for most people but it's true. There's NOTHING to forgive in my opinion. I LOVE the movie as it is. Gwildor is one of my FAVOURITE characters, sure I love Orko but honestly I think if you look at the Filmation Cartoon Vs. The MOTU '87 Movie one is SUPER Campy and appropriate for the time, and the other was written for a slightly older audience, and the story is DIFFERENT. Yes the budget and lack of special effects (which honestly there were a LOT) was a sign of the times. No CGI no 3D computer graphics, let's be honest Orko would look silly. Gary Goddard did what he could with what he was given and he did it expertly. Now back to your comments on this new film. Did you even watch my review, I said specifically that I adore Idris Elba I have no problems with his casting. I just can't see HIS version of Man-At-Arms in my head yet. As I've ALWAYS associated Duncan with the versions I've seen before, this isn't about BLACK OR WHITE this is about the PERFORMANCE which I'm SURE Idris Elba will SLAY. If you needed that explained to you there it is. This isn't about looking like my action figures either, even when I was a kid I always thought Arnold Schwarzenegger was a better choice than Dolph, but I accepted it because he was what was in the movie. Just like this Casting will be judged on their performances NOT HOW THEY LOOK or Physical appearances. As far as the movie itself I'll say what I've always said. I'LL BELIEVE IT WHEN I SEE IT. My problem isn't with the Cast, my problem is with the STORY. Casting at the end of the day is subjective, and everyone will have their own personal bias and can deal with that on their own. But if the story isn't good it won't succeed at all.
@@megajayretro I most certainly watched your video. I also watched the follow-up video and that reinforced my position. After looking at all of those AI concepts the comment is made, " Ultimately he just doesn't L-O-O-K like the character," to which you conceded. Does that statement have ANYTHING to do with him being a great actor? No...Does that statement have anything to do with the fact your judging from nonofficial images unrelated to the film? YES... And honestly you don't have a completed script in front of you to know how this story will unfold so why speculate? If you're bending over backwards to praise Idris as an actor, then why would he be challenged to play this role??? Did Samuel Jackson resemble the classic Sgt Fury from the comics? No... Did Michael Keaton resemble classic Bruce Wayne in the comics? No... But both are great actors and brought their craft to the role and made it their own. So if you will happily fall on the sword of the first film which, by your own admission is loaded with issues, then why not sit back, take a deep breath, and at least reserve judgement on this project until its completed and you've seen it? Maybe the story will make sense once you see it all contextualized in the film. ALL I AM SAYING is give it a chance! Is that such a bad thing to ask?
@Playitstraight44 when did I say I was challenging Idris playing the roll? I said I can't see it at this time because I am so attached to Duncan as he has been depicted in past media. I NEVER ONCE said he would be challened, as a matter of fact I said I look forward to his performance and seeing how he will play Duncan it had nothing to do about his LOOKS in fact I said in BOTH my videos that I am IN LOVE with the way he LOOKS. But I am CONCERNED that the EARTH connection is the WEAKEST LINK. It has NOTHING to do with the Casting, it has NOTHING to do with my love of the first 1987 MOTU MOVIE, it is a concern of mine that this movie will begin on the wrong foot. Then theres also that lingering feeling, that we've been down this road before, and we've gotten SO CLOSE to a MOTU movie multiple times over only to fall INCHES before the finish line. I've been let down so many times before and my faith has wavered. So to save me the disappointment I've adopted a MOTTO for Masters of the Universe Movies... I'LL BELIVE IT WHEN I SEE IT...
Quiero saber si alguien piensa como yo . Yo creo que los personajes tienen que ser parecidos . Por ejemplo. Man at arms no es negro y tri clips tampoco. Eso está bien para mí tiene que ser bastante similar al dibujo

I am tired of Jared Leto getting cast... Morbius, Suicide Squad, stop it already. Also, I am getting tried of Race and Gender Swapping. Changing the lore of Masters of the Universe is stupid and foolish, if this is going to be similar to the Kevin Smith's version and implement DEI BS, then this would be a disaster.
Wonder if sun man is going to be played by Brad Pit? Just wondering because it’s good to change things around with man at arms. Wonder if that would be a good idea? Maybe skeletor should be played by a women? Maybe they should make skeletor into a zombie because there isn’t enough zombies in the movie ? Not really excited about the crap Hollywood does. But all the actors are very good actors just not true to source material that people would like to see
It's not about who's playing who, but what the story is about. This Casting will be judged on their performances not their physical appearances.
@ In any form it’s who is playing the part is a big part in any movie A really good story is going to be a must with this movie. If you change to much around you will loose your audience that grew up with the show. We will see🤷♂️
I don't disagree, after all Nick Fury is being played by Samuel L. Jackson. Some people questioned it at the time, but his performance was amazing and now he's generally accepted as Nick Fury. Casting is INCREDIBLY important, but a good Story is even more important.
I’m so confused by your comments about Idris and Jared? Is it because Idris is black? Because I definitely feel he can capture that role very well. Jared Leto looks like Keldor with white skin. I think he’s going to be great! I think the cast overall looks good I’m more concerned with the story.
Bro they act like hollywood aint been white washing characters. They cast Elizabeth Taylor as Cleopatra. Now Egyptian people look like they migrated from NY. They so brainwashed about being replaced and it shows their ignorance.
@Chewzy_CEO the main reason I'm having trouble with Jared is his last few performances with "comic book" characters were such a departure from the source material, I am having trouble seeing him play Skeletor. I'm not saying he will be bad, I'm just saying it's hard to see right now. BLACK? What does that have to do with anything? As I said I ADORE Idris Elba, I loved him in Pacific Rim, Thor, Beast, and Suicide Squad 2. But just like I said in the review, I am just so attached to the Duncan I've known for the past 40+ years already, so it's hard to see Idris playing Man-At-Arms. But I'll say it again I'm sure he'll do a masterful job just but like Jared, I can't see it yet. But I'm eager to see both of their performances. You are absolutely correct though, it comes down to the STORY. If the foundation isn't good then this movie will not be great. It might be OKAY but probably not win over the hearts of Older fans, but will it attract YOUNGER Fans... That's the trick...
@jessiemartinez3056 Whoa DUDE that's uncalled for, don't be throwing around the R word. Everyone is welcome to their opinion, no need for that. Let's wait and see how the casting works out, and if their choices are correct. The MAIN issue is the Story plain and simple. If the STORY doesn't work then the movie won't work.
Why can’t they stick to the original cartoon narrative and cast actors accordingly rather than switching it up to suit the “woke” generation I can see this film being a complete flop. Why can’t they just get it right it’s not rocket science!
It really is about the Story, and starting on Earth is a bad idea. I've said it multiple times in the comments: My problem isn't with the Cast, my problem is with the STORY. Casting at the end of the day is subjective, and everyone will have their own personal bias and can deal with that on their own. But if the story isn't good it won't succeed at all.
I'm already out. The DEI casting when they could have brought in Clamp Champ or a new character is a NO GO. Also doesn't of Mahe me sense to measure TriKlops Asian? This woke garbage is over... time for them to catch up.
yeah, i will not be watching it, diverse cast, cot the colours they are SPOSE to be, it is done by amazon and it has nothing to do with the real lors as well as a made up villain, i have no interest in seeing this and i am a huge he man fan, have been since i was a kid
I'm going to give it a chance @heldersantos1202 , the story so far is just not necessary. Everything should be on Eternia IMHO why bring it to earth at all?
Casting at the end of the day is subjective, and everyone will have their own personal bias and can deal with that on their own. But if the story isn't good it won't succeed at all.
@@megajayretro Shut up stupid casting is everything cause it means they don't care about the fans or the Better He-Man Animated Series and would rather focus on trash lazy race-bending garbage when fans want these characters to look 100% like the cartoon.
@matt-tf2ob Seriously dude? WTF don't tell me to shut up, I didn't say anything that even remotely deserving of that. If you don't want to discuss this why comment at all. Telling someone to Shut up doesn't allow for conversation, you just want people to listen to your side of an argument and not even allow for other opinions. If you can't let other people voice their opinions don't offer yours. You need to be able to argue your point, not just shut down people when they have an opinion. You're not wrong about Casting, a movie can succeed or fail on casting at times. But it's not the end all OR be all. STORY is the foundation of everything in movies, comics, and all visual and audio media. If there isn't a good Story, no one will care about who is playing who. Masters of the Universe is set on a Planet in the far reaches of the Galaxy, why the HELL do we need to have Prince Adam on Earth. This feels like a re-boot to me, and if that's the case then CASTING can be argued for ANY Characters as the setting is new. Does Nick Fury need to be White? Depends on who you ask. But When Samuel L. Jackson took up the roll was there a huge backlash? NO and now Everyone believes he was the best choice for the roll. If they ARE rebooting this MOTU Movie with a new cast playing the main characters, it might not be what Older Fans Expect. Hell I even said in the video, I'm having trouble seeing Idris Elba as Man-At-Arms because I'm not sure how he will play Duncan, but I'm open to seeing his performance because he is an INCREDIBLE actor. But no matter how skilled your cast is, if the STORY is CRAP then it won't matter. No one will watch the movie if the STORY SUCKS. Now try debating my point without telling me to SHUT UP STUPID. Let's try that, maybe you'll be able to discuss this properly. Wouldn't that be something.
Honestly, Can someone explain to me WHY is there a GOAT MAN (who I never heard about) and NO BEAST-MAN ?!! BEAST MAN is essencially one of the biggest villains from the lore. And he isn`t in the movie???
HAHAHA Yeah I find that strange myself. What's with Goat Man, I mean he's NEAT but BEAST MAN would be SO MUCH Better!
Beast Man is one of the main characters of Master of the universe one of my favorite henchman of skeletor
No earth or we riot
HAHAHAHA
They are Starting Prince Adam out on Earth. Unforunately.
It dosnt sound like they are targeting MOTU fans.
Sadly they are charting their own path, and we'll have to see where it leads.
3 things:
1. He Man creator Roger Sweet said that Dolph Lundgren was TOO THIN to play the strongest man in the universe
HE MAN is a VERY MUSCLE guy and that kid (the Hollywood actor) would take at least 10 years to have a similar physique!
2- The forced inclusion is going to screw up the movie since there ARE African American characters in the ORIGINAL INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY. Like for example Clamp Champ, Melaktha, Garn and Shokoti (where two of them were created by the only African American 1984 screenwriter Don Manuel)
I mean those "WOKES" who think they have the ability to make a He Man movie...
Part of the problem is the He-Man IP has one rule for all versions other than the original. It must be 20% different from the original.
That's interesting @dbradford259 when was this rule made?
Casting Elba as Man at Arms just to have representation is all I needed to see to avoid this train wreck. And I like him as an actor.
The movie might definitely be crap... but went not Idris Elba as man at arms? He'd be perfect actually. It's another planet so black or white won't make a difference to the character
@@emilflognoid1532 Race & gender swapping is total BS! It does matter!
I'm down with Idris Elba as Man-At-Arms
and he was cast as the whitest of all Asgardians.
Have to keep earth out of it.
not gonna happen.

@bernymannovedadescientific9483 I answered your original commend directly.
I have been watching and waiting for this Masters of the Universe movie for 35 years. All I have seen is attempt after attempt fail. I have no reason to believe this will come to pass. As you said, " I will believe it when I see it!"
not even set on eternia. didnt work in the 80s. definitely wont work now
Exactly how I feel @keystoyourhealth2688 I'LL BELIEVE IT WHEN I SEE IT. So many years later, so many promises... I won't hold my breath until I see the first trailer!
@deco176 if the story stays the same as the description so far it will begin on earth and move to Eternia.
The "He-Man and the Masters of the Universe" animated series from 2002 is as good as it's ever going to get.
I wish Netflix would finish the last season! We Need a Horde Return!
@megajayretro You and me both, brother. But Netflix is invested in making Teela and the Masters of the Universe now while Prince Adam sits on a bench wondering where his life went wrong.
HAHAHAHAHAHA That's hilarious brother!
They have once again overlooked the perfect medium for this franchise. Motion capture.
They could make the characters look perfect with zero compromise.
Cast the perfect voices for the roles and their physical appearance would not be a factor.
(I said the same thing about Tomb Raider; Keeley Hawes as Lara's voice and facial capture, and various athletes and gymnasts for her body movement.) Live-action films don't actually need to be live-action anymore.
lol Yup I think Stunt Puppet Studios would have make a KILLER MOTU Movie if given the right budget!
BUT if the story isn't good it won't succeed at all.
this movie can burn in hell. it will get none of my time or money. these movie companies have no idea what they have here.
@pixelforge4858 wow that's a strong response, I have low expectations but I'm still going to watch it to see how it is.
Recreating the FILMATION style would be the coolest.
They will probably lean more into the Masterverse line and take inspirations from LOTR and GOTh.
The movie will never come !
It's coming..the movie will just stink
@Aelbandii lol yup just like I've always said. I'LL BELIEVE IT WHEN I SEE IT. So many times we've been promised a MOTU movie, so many times it's come CLOSE but then cancelled. @solomonallen3524 if the story isn't good it won't succeed at all.
@@megajayretro it's coming the budget has been approved and casting is underway and the Director has been chosen and paid basically the script has been greenlit
And the release date is locked down
Which means the movie will open big and have a 90% drop off by next weekend and will be deemed a box office flop.
@solomonallen3524 if the story is bad, you'll be right on the money.
Idris as MAA is paying homage to Dekker.
??? Who is Dekker @geechie-don7157
@@megajayretro according to the 200X series, which is now canon, Dekker (a Black man), was the first MAA and Duncan’s teacher.

Idris Elba as Man-at-arms is dope!!!!

Hey Jay. Hello everyone. Hope you all are doing well! A very happy new year as well
Thank you @walterminteer8589 yes so far the Year has been great! Thundercats Cat's Lair coming soon!!!
What WE make of it is up to US (insults or respectful, deal with each other! )
I like the respectful handling and therefore wanted to give a short feedback!
P.S. I am also rather skeptical about the film, since many film projects, unfortunately, were or are currently rather disappointing!
Better not to expect too much at first!
For good communication, Folks !!! ✌🤘😉
I dont like seeing characters race swapped too often, but Idris Elba is pretty much the black version of Man at Arms.
The movie should be a retelling of the FILMATION cartoon.
The designs and styles of the 80’s cartoon is the icon of the franchise.
Movies gonna suck worse than the 80s one.Which we hated as kids BECAUSE it took place on earth… so I know, let’s make the new one take place on earth again AND let’s even make He Man an “boring office worker” that way everyone can relate….🤪🤮
HAHAHAHAHA Yeah I love the 1987 MOTU Movie but EARTH was the weakest part of the whole film for sure.
@@megajayretro Looking back on it it actually wasnt anywhere near as bad as us 5th graders found it at the time LOL we were just pi55ed off that we didnt recognize any of the characters, and where's ORKO?!?! A Yosemite Sam lookin dwarf instead of Orko!?! smh
The reason I think this is a huge mistake is that the film needs to take place IN ETERNIA. ONLY. But they are afraid the casual audience wont relate... Hollywood never used to care about that as much as they do today so Im not surprised just wildly disappointed.
Excited to see this, I hope this *uck this up!!! 😂
Although it would not bring in new, younger fans, I would rather just see fan made shorts done with stop motion and action figures.
At least those would be a labor of love, rather than some non-fan changing and butchering the source material.

lol I don't disagree with you @4thecollectors I've always thought He-Man should be HUGE.
Sounds like another Dragon Ball Evolution, they should make a series of this, like Flash Gordon did.
That's what I'm afraid of
They need to use muscle suits like Bill and Ted did in the prison scene. Masters of the Universe are all muscle bound
Race swapping Man at Arms defeats the entire purpose of why Sun Man: Rulers of the Sun was brought into the Masters of the Universe canon.
Idris as Heimdall the whitest of all Asgardians I thought was made to happen to spite, oh well.
He was an incredible Heimdall!

So... no Cringer/Battlecat or Orko (since no voice actors were mentioned) 😢. To me, He-Man without his tiger is like Knight Rider without the car... But knowing my luck, Battlecat and Orko probably show up as quick cameos at the end 😐
Well no orko or battlecat in the original and it was awesome
@trikeonabike4949 yeah according to Nicholas Galitzine they're going on their own direction and it will be treated as bible. So for now No Orko confirmed, and if Battle Cat does show up probably won't be voiced at all.
@jessiemartinez3056 I did love the original BUT I still want to see Battle Cat and Orko 😁
@megajayretro yes I would like that also.. battlecat vs panthor...
He-Man is my childhood. Along with TMNT. I have a feeling this is going to be fucked up like The Crow movie.
Hollywood will probably woke it up
Not really sure what that means, But if the story isn't good it won't succeed at all.

I think tom sellek would make a great man at arms
HAHAHA he's too old but I see what you did there.
Quite different from the original movie isn't a bad thing. Quite different from the original canon would be though.
Interesting predictions!
Maybe He-man's armor will be more like Snake Armor He-man.
Might be, I can't see Nicholas going full Straps and Nips out lol
Man-at-Arms without the Burt Reynolds Mustache is just not Man-at-Arms.

So it’s different than the original although people who they know will watch the movie only remember the original. No one is going to go see it. Let’s see how this loss of cash will affect them.
I'll say what I've always said. I'LL BELIEVE IT WHEN I SEE IT, If the story isn't good it won't succeed at all.
She should be stern and cold, so covered hair like a nun would be better.)
Galzatine certainly is handsome, just hope he can act.
I don't mind the race-swapped Man-At-Arms, but less keen on the latina Teela. (Another redhead bites the dust.) 😞
I can somewhat understand why you might consider Leto for the role of Skeletor, but why do people keep casting him?
Cool. Got ya.
God...Mr jay ....
What the… they will blackwashing Man at Arms and Tri Klops!!! Hahaha happy 2025😂😂😂😂 I will for sure never whatch that!,,,,😂😂😂😂
Bet you ain’t got a problem with white Jesus and white Isis…
@@MrX-kq6zm they whitewashed Jesus…
You can hear me say it right here at 10 min 30 seconds quick link to make it easier for you: th-cam.com/video/D_-4cnoI904/w-d-xo.htmlsi=jWhSlG8LqLxixXpS&t=630

You keep implying that I am not giving this movie a chance. On the contrary, I am giving it EVERY CHANCE to make me fall in love with it. I Said so in the video at 13 minutes 50 Seconds quick link to make it easier for you: th-cam.com/video/D_-4cnoI904/w-d-xo.htmlsi=us6kA-19RoWKpvu7&t=829
I really don't know why you're saying I'm against this movie, I am obviously NOT.
Old fans won't like it/young fans won't give a shit.
Quiero saber si alguien piensa como yo . Yo creo que los personajes tienen que ser parecidos . Por ejemplo. Man at arms no es negro y tri clips tampoco. Eso está bien para mí tiene que ser bastante similar al dibujo

At the very least Jared Leto needs blue skin...Oiy earth again though...
lol I'm sure he will have Blue skin lol. Yup EARTH is a THE REAL PROBLEM for fans right now!
I think it could pull off, oh it might be a disaster. I believe it when I see it.

Dam you sound so Yung in spanish 😅
HAHAHA YES!!! I've gone back in time!!!
Edris Elba should be Sun-man
Huge mistake.
Let's wait and see, I still have hope we'll get something decent at least.
NÃO DUVIDO NEM UM POUCO QUE O HE MAN DE DOLPH LUNDGREN POSSA SER MELHOR QUE ESSE NOVO.
He's not Man-at-arms
I am tired of Jared Leto getting cast... Morbius, Suicide Squad, stop it already. Also, I am getting tried of Race and Gender Swapping. Changing the lore of Masters of the Universe is stupid and foolish, if this is going to be similar to the Kevin Smith's version and implement DEI BS, then this would be a disaster.
I've heard it doesn't take place in eternia if this is true I'm out
Wonder if sun man is going to be played by Brad Pit? Just wondering because it’s good to change things around with man at arms.
Wonder if that would be a good idea? Maybe skeletor should be played by a women? Maybe they should make skeletor into a zombie because there isn’t enough zombies in the movie ? Not really excited about the crap Hollywood does.
But all the actors are very good actors just not true to source material that people would like to see
It's not about who's playing who, but what the story is about. This Casting will be judged on their performances not their physical appearances.
@ In any form it’s who is playing the part is a big part in any movie
A really good story is going to be a must with this movie.
End this dumpster fire now!🤨
😂 it's polarizing for sure.
I’m so confused by your comments about Idris and Jared? Is it because Idris is black? Because I definitely feel he can capture that role very well. Jared Leto looks like Keldor with white skin. I think he’s going to be great! I think the cast overall looks good I’m more concerned with the story.
Racist much? Man at arms was never black foo and leto as skeletor is dumb...maybe hordac
@@trenthoward6800 LMFAO facts ..so it's gonna be a woke movie 😂
The 80s cartoon was the best. Nothing as come close apart from the 2002 series. This movie will suck.
La van a cagar mal esto va ser basura wok total ya poniendo a Duncan negro a tree klop negro que ???
Man at Arms and Tela are Farther & Daughter so Elba is a bad casting.
yeah, i will not be watching it, diverse cast, cot the colours they are SPOSE to be, it is done by amazon and it has nothing to do with the real lors as well as a made up villain, i have no interest in seeing this and i am a huge he man fan, have been since i was a kid
The cast is way too large, it should be stripped down and made into a prequel. If successful they could add more classic cast members in a sequel.
WOW that's an interesting take I haven't heard yet @Keith2XS great comment!
We dont need to talk about nothing! From what i hear, and it bad, i wont even watch the trailers.
Sigh, I'm hoping for a good trailer and an updated synopsis, if the story isn't good it won't succeed at all.
It going to be bad
😢They'll destroy another franchise
AI garbage, no thnx :(
Nah I'll stick to the Better 80's cartoon, the 2002 cartoon and the Kevin Smith cartoons than this trash.
lol well at least you won't be disappointed by not watching it.
@@megajayretro True Fans won't watch this trash for the 80's cartoon, the 2002 cartoon and the Kevin Smith cartoon are 1,000 times better.
Nawh, from what Ive heard of this project, it sounds like crsp
Sigh yeah it's REALLY hard to accept that EARTH will be one of the main story points.
Idris elba is not a Duncan 🤦♂️
We'll see how his Man-At-Ams is, I'm sure he'll SLAY the roll, but it's hard to see it at this early stage.
Whats up sorry to say this but this movie is going to fail big time just like the original movie disaster
What the hell ..the original was awesome you foo...😂
I'm going to give it a chance @heldersantos1202 , the story so far is just not necessary. Everything should be on Eternia IMHO why bring it to earth at all?
I totally agree @jessiemartinez3056 the 1987 Movie was great! Not the best but it was good for what it was!
No. No we don’t. Stop.
Another trash movie that will disrespect the better 80's cartoon cause all they care about is race-bending casting trash.
