Thanks Jay! It’s always fun to talk with Brian. Appreciate your support 🙏🏻🙌🏻 Hooooo!
On the clip from your video doesn’t seem he’s subscribed to your channel. Unless he’s not logged in 😂
I want to buy some thunder Cats cause when I was a kid my friend had them but I only had gijoe and star wars.
I cant keep up about how toy tubers are "thankful" for receiving expensive broken and defective shit... not to mention these issues are a huge pain in the ass for international buyers, that will have to pay an extra 300 usd at least for any replacement.
The ones that drive me crazy are the ones that buy super7 figures over and over. Every time they open them then they act surprised at how bad the quality is and how they aren't worth the price. It's been the same broken record for a decade now.
@@NickDoobs you would believe by now Brian Flynn would fix their issues, but he just double them up and stay petty and prepotent as fuck
@@NickDoobssolid point. I stopped after their MOTU figs, the ones that are now Origins. It was sad.
Couldn't agree more. If I buy something new the Box is as important as the item itself.
Well when they sign contracts with these companies that they will never ever tell the truth then it makes sense .
After receiving my cats lair and finally seeing how huge the main box is I realized how huge of an undertaking it is to ship them. Mine came in perfect but i can't imagine all of them won't get damaged. In the end the cats lair is beautiful and i hope everyone is taken care of.
A couple of things that I feel like should be addressed here are 1) All of these products have shipping insurance (they absolutely do, there's no question there). Just like the HasLab products, were one of these Cat's Lairs NOT delivered and the customer opened a case with Super 7, Super 7 would be capable of filing a claim with the shipping service to, at the very least, recoup the declared value of the item. I believe this is also the case for heavy damage, depending on the shipping service and the coverage that the company (and the customer who paid for shipping as part of their transaction) has paid for. 2) Jay, you are a fan and that's WHY what you have to say and your opinions on the matter absolutely DO matter.
I didn't order this thing, but I know plenty of people who have. Fortunately, many of those folks have received them in "acceptable condition," meaning the inner box and/or the actual Lair was not damaged beyond repair. I'm glad to hear that Brian and Super 7 are apparently determined to address and mitigate the issues. I hope that comes to fruition and is satisfactory to all of the people who have been affected. Unfortunately, these things are not 100% avoidable, no matter what precautions are taken, BUT it is 100% the responsibility of the company that produces and facilitates the logistics of these items to make sure their customers are happy.
I know personally that you can't trust Brian !
I asked him to his face, "Will the Silverhawks be able to look up when you have them in a flying pose?" and he told me, "Yes !" Which was a lie .
Brother life moves on
Lol 😅@@benheuser2267
At the end of the day, Snake Mountain was shipped at a time when the cost of shipping was significantly less than it is today - & it was expensive then. The extra box/corner pieces were cheaper & easier to pass the cost onto the consumer than it would have been for the Lair - lots of people were complaining at the $100 charge, let alone the extra pieces. They certainly should have used a better quality cardboard - maybe we have reached the pinnacle of what is financially/practically shippable?
Egmond does great interviews and he’s always excited. Our Cats Lair arrived here fine and I cannot wait to see what’s next. A little hint mentioned in the interview and I’m like “what is it!!” 😅😅😅
He's a shill ! He's in love with Brian, so he doesn't hold him accountable !
@@ultramag0343 you’ll be ok
@toyhuntershollow6049 I've been ok ! Is that you, Brian 👀
@ you’ll be ok
Got box 2 first.its got corner protectors. Got to me in good condition 👍
I have not check my catslair. It look decent when I got it. So it should be good. Super 7 rock they help me years ago with my thunder thank. Jake you should send this video to Mad hatter. Thanks for all you do.
One would think as long as Super7 have been around and having seen what happened with Mattel and Eternia, they would've foreseen this issue and kept it in mind when planning in the first place. I'm sure they will find it will cost them more in the long run if they want to keep their customers. I'll also add, due to the dimensional shipping matrix now being a standard in the industry, a flattened box is likely (especially if folded in) not to be as expensive as a stove-sized cube. Lastly, and by no means the best solution (as many may only care about having the art not a box), why not make up some nice art prints and mail them out to verified buyers for free? That along with maybe a 15% off discount or credit would be a decent solution for the fans while not costing a huge amount to course correct.
Hello Jay!! Nice live!!! Can i ask how do you auto translate your videos!! Thats awesome to hear you in spanish
I didn’t get the cats lair but I’ve been keeping up with the Facebook damage posts and I watched Brian’s interview. To me it didn’t sound as though there will be happy solution for people when it comes to the box. He was already saying that shipping a flattened box would still be a problem because it may get bent, but really that’s what they should do and if it gets bent send it again. Shipping was a lot and everyone who paid should get what they paid for in at least acceptable condition. Personally I don’t think they thought out the problem s that may occur when shipping something so large. He was already putting the responsibility on fedex in the interview which I think
Is partially fair. I think super7 will tell you to get a refund from fedex but super7 should have made thicker boxes if possible or maybe shipped the two cats lair boxes in two separate boxes. It would have cost them more but that should be on them since they didn’t plan this out better.
I loved the interview. Watched it last night. I accept it. I wish I would have gotten it, still.
I've had $5,000 statues shipped that arrived with torn and punctured outter shipper boxes 📦 and on occasion there is damage to the inner art box as well. As long as the statue itself isn't damaged or compromised, I don't really care how beat up the boxes get, they served their purpose 💯. If your goal as a "collector" is to have an oversized art box arrive in mint condition, then you absolutely need to pay a premium for that option. You can't expect any package to arrive factory fresh if it is being shipped via conventional package handling services like UPS, FedEx, etc. Pay a premium and have it delivered by courier 🎉
Hi, i really hope super7 resolve this horrible situation as soon possible, i live in Puerto Rico and i afraid for my unit... thanks Jay for the video! 👍
I still believe all of this could have been avoided with double boxing and styrofoam inserts. And better packing inside for the fragile parts that broke. My two boxes arrived separately but only with a few dings and dents on the shipping boxes. I feel fortunate. One of my blaster cannons that go inside the claws was broke though and I had to superglue it back together. No biggie but still. Some people though, their issues were worse, much worse. You are correct Jay. Why did we “go backwards” from the Thundertank and Snake Mountain? Also, do a pack in instruction manual or document next time showing how to assemble this piece and also how to turn on the lights.
Exactly why couldn't styro be used?
Here's hoping the "plastic" covers the light up eyes not functioning for me 😞
Can anyone provide the dimensions of that larger box? I believe the box was too big for double-boxing..
Thats nonsense these boxs are custom made.
@unorthdoxcleric6953 what I'm saying is that they made a mistake when they designed the product box. It looks so big to me, that if they were to double box it it would be too large to ship through normal services. They obviously cannot send it through a freight service that would cost more than the product itself
@ Probably why they only used very thin box's to keep the size down
@@unorthdoxcleric6953 like, would people be happy if S7's solution were anything less than a full replacements?
They could send off brand new boxes, folded flat, to replace those that wanted undamaged packaging. For the damaged turrets, etc. they could just ship the replacement parts, not the entire box.
Anyone out there with a damaged one? What do you hope S7 to do?
All these issues suck, but it's part of how things work out in real life. After hearing Brian's description, I think Super7 did the best they could given the size of the lair. The other option would have been to have the lair require additional assembly (so it could ship in two packages instead of two) or reduce the size of the lair.
Thunder cats thunder cats thunder cats Hoooooooo we used to watch the cartoon as well
I think Brian Flynn as a Super 7 representative is very responsible for looking to fix the issue with the shipments Jay...😀👍💡
I think Brian is great in interviews I know people have their beef with Super7 but I think among the various companies his interviews are the most frank and open and they seem great about replacements
Got mine. Had a hole in the shipper that went through the packaging. I can reach in and touch the Cat's Lair. 100.00 shipping. Another box was the answer.
I still haven’t received any response or update since my initial email of not receiving a box because it was automatically returned to them for being destroyed in transit. I am feeling worried, frustrated and saddened considered the length of time I had this on preorder.
I would bet urs was so trashed they had no choice but to send it back
@ That definitely seems to be the case. I just wish they’d email me and say we are aware of your situation and will address it. I can be patient, but being kept in the dark is what bothers me.
My box got plastic corners taped to it and the art is sticky now. Not understanding how they can fix the plastic parts. The lair has hinges.
Super 7 needs to refund the shipping
The only problem with that is many people would damage their boxes and claim it was damaged in shipment just to get a refund. Everybody who collects loose or unboxed could absolutely do this.
Demanding a box in good condition is NOT unrealistic. Super 7 did it with the Snake Mountain with two boxes and corners. Why is it unreal then?
yes but Cats Lair is bigger than Snake mountain so maybe Super7 couldn't do what they did with Snake mountain as it would have made the shipping cost more than the $100.00 Plus its FedEx who is damaging the boxes. Even brian said those giant holes are Forklift damage.
My Snake Mountain was shipped via UPS. I’d rather have had them used as shipper instead of FedEx. And don’t get me wrong, UPS has let me down too, but I’ve been more let down from FedEx than any other carrier.
Yup ur very much correct
At this rate I'm almost glad I couldn't afford it...
Same!
Hasbro did a good job with the Haslab Ghost. It had plastic protectors for the corners and long protectors that covered the edges.
Why not "figure it out" in the first place?
exactly!
I believe it comes down to percentages for corporations. As Jay mentioned, supposedly the amount of significant damages amounts to less than 5%. It's a very light example of what happens in industry all the time. And it almost always comes down to money. The theory being it's cheaper to mitigate the 5% than take the measures to avoid the problem in the first place. At least this cost-cut measure didnt involve human lives, just plastic.
I just recieved a 1/3 scale statue from sideshow that was 55 pounds and a much larger and awkward box...it still had plastic corners outside and foam corner inserts inside...so I know it could have been done
At least Super7 is speaking out On Video about the problems...
When shipping workers see the box with super7 logo on it. There’s haters out there, they will damage the box. So if they hide the logo and package it better. Things will be different.
The only way to ensure the box would have arrived perfect is to ship to a warehouse and have buyers come to pick it up. Which isn’t realistic. I wonder if super 7 would do another crowdfund of this scale again. Maybe they will go to a subscription where you get the parts monthly and then fully assemble it yourself.
Ohh yes!! This is great news!!
Jay My boxes arrived with a few scratches and slight tears on the outer large box but nothing that totally went through the shipper box so my Inner art box looks good. I was only missing two small pieces a clear plastic shield for one of the large Gun turrets and I was also missing the Sword of Omand stand. I already contacted Super7 customer care to get those two missing Items replaced and I know Super7 will make it right.
Question for the community….my Lair showed up yesterday in pristine condition. I’m in LA. I don’t have room for it right now so I wasn’t going to open it but I’m worried there could be missing or broken pieces. Should I open to check or leave it for now?
Yup u should 100% open and check. Simply because of the cost of the item and the numerous examples of customers with damaged pieces and missing keys for example. It will save u the headache of selling only to learn later there are issues.
Yeah check it out, mine had everything included and the physical lair was pristine... unfortunately the eyes seem defective, they lit up once for a few secs and then never turned on again
Mine has a gash to the plastic inside. The correction is what exactly at giant gashes?
Good points and I agree that Brian Flynn's efforts to address issues about the shipping "disaster" with the Cat's Lair is good. I'm hoping that my fellow Pinoy collectors ay hind magkaroon nang problema with their playsets. Let's hope na this would be a lesson learned for Super7 to ensure na sulit ang binayad nang customers. You're right, given the numbers now, we really can't say. Precautions should've been made, based on the item's price.
This is so typical of how American companies handle customer products nowadays. They end up wasting far more money sending out replacements then what it would have cost to simply pack properly from the start. Everyone knows US shipping services are careless and don't handle peoples' property with respect. When you're selling collectibles, you MUST pack accordingly; it's as simple as that. Super 7 knows their target market are adult collectors, not children. They should know what collectors expect, especially when paying exorbitant prices. Don't cut corners; just do the right thing and satisfy customer needs. Cut corners, and you lose customers and revenue in the long run. Not rocket science, guys; just a little common business sense, and a little bit of appreciation for the customers funding your success.
Missed out again, had to catch up on some sleep.
My big box had small scuffs and tears, enough for me to not want to keep it. I don't know if I would have kept it anyway even if it was pristine considering how much space it takes up, so probably best. Ultimately the box is supposed to protect the merchandise. What would be nice is a full color poster of the box art as a make up gesture to fans ...
This thing is awesome BTW, glad I bought it!
Mine was missing the council table.
The bottom line is cost, it just should have been packed better like the thundertank and yes a second box would have made the difference. Eternia backers had much of the same problems and when you pay such a high price for a collectible they should be perfect. Buying a mass produced toy with a damaged box at Walmart is different than backing a crowdfunded collectible set. It needs to be perfect.
Damaged boxes are unacceptable! The Cat's Lair costs $700 + $100 for shipping! Super 7 was trying to save a little money and now it's come back to bite them in the bum instead of doing it right the first time. This is why Haslabs costs so much. Hasbro knows these are high priced collectibles aimed at adult collectors, so box condition is very important. 💯
What happened to Flipor?
Giant holes in my box!!! Looked like they dropped it off at a shredder! 😠
Put a fragile sticker on the boxes. And the shippers should respect the boxes and don’t throw it around!
😂😂😂😂 sure
@ I have heard from friends that the workers don’t respect the package because they are haters . Not funny but it’s very sad why ppl have to act childish and ruin ppl stuff. 🤷🏽♂️
I don’t support Sub7 at all but this stuffs happens. And not necessarily on the company.. We saw it with Eternia, anything we get shipped from Walfart or Amazon, or even when I do shipper crates for large events and have Forklifts having just poked through the entire crate, wood, pelican or otherwise.
Blame should be placed more on the shippers and large companies should focus on working with those vendors to drive up their quality
Mine came In fine
They won’t replace the box , asked them already .😢
Please, 🙏more protection on the box... 📦🛡
How to the people that have received damaged lairs. 🎉 to the people that haven’t received them yet but what about the damaged ones. Love to know.
Hi Mega Jay you always bringing us great content. I follow all of you guys I'm a huge, huge Thundercats fan,my Cat's Lair delivered his past Wednesday January 29 Fed Ex driver delivered to the wrong address and gave my Lair to some random person and I've been on the phone with them since and now I'm left without something I waited this long for at this point I don't care what Brian has to say,I've always mad excuses for him and his team because they enabled me my extended childhood at a price, these past days I've just swallowed the hard pill of reality and just accept that this company is trash.
I think any replacement box would have to be shipped flat Pack. Brian really annoyed me when he said we will figure it out. well great but why didn't u figure this out before u sent the stuff, it just makes no sense. They purposely sent these this way to save money and it didn't work as anyone with sense could of predicted. He knew but as he has said many times doesn't actually care about Thundercats or even like them.
How about you stop making excuses for Super 7? At the end of the day they produced a high end collectible at a large price point. It’s obvious that they didn’t invest in the packaging this time. Packaging should be tested before shipping occurs. It’s all on Super 7. Honestly it feels like this must be a paid endorsement. Care to explain?
Give us a poster!!!!
This is a situation where styrofoam would have made sense. I know it's not the best thing for the environment but it would have helped avoid excessive damage.
Super 7 should provide to their customers every thing that's wrong with it period
Too cost effective
Like super 7 but they don't realize that we r paying for it and I think they take advantage of us and for granted they got to big to fast
Why would any company care about issues a buyer has with the product when they already had your money a year before you ever get it 😁 whose the fool ?
Si te cobran 100 dólares el envío , es para que te llegue impecable tu producto y ojalá a ti te llegue el cubil felino en buen estado y creo que tú tratas de justificar a súper 7 en sus empaques de porquería
People hating on Super7 so much, but honestly, anyone can have problems! I do regret my purchase of their MOTU figs, though. Holy cow, the legs snapped like an old man’s hip. 😢
Uh Oh. I think I need to amend my comment. Yikes. Sorry to hear that folks are having these results and I’m one of the people who ditched Super7 after I got my MOTU figs in hand. Yikes. Problems!
