@@dwayne7201 the War Rig isn't a scratch build it's just downloaded and printed. A scratch build is mostly made from styrene sheets with a few parts from different models.
A great enhancement would be to add wings and jet engines to this, for greater manoeuvrability. I'm sure there were plans to do that so it wouldn't be an implausible mod
I like how this model implies the Maus has been doing very well on the frontlines. In all realism, even if they did deploy, they’d just get picked apart by artillery and aircraft, but this one looks like it’s been driving across Europe like some one-tank army. I would have liked to see some shallow shell craters on the upper front plate and turret, to show the tank has been in combat, and the armor has endured a couple shells from rockets, anti tank guns, and other tanks. Edit: also I know it’d make the turret wider which isn’t good, but maybe some kind of platform extending out the sides for the AA crew to walk on, as I can’t see any way for a crewman to get from the turret deck to the gun without doing some parkour stuff :P
The maus could work if you had air superiority and where assaulting a heavily defended position or in a defencive role with heavy aa support but logistically its a nightmare so it would be very hard to get it in the fight to begin with
Watches David's videos since 2019 and motivated to get back into modelling after many years, missing the fun and excitement of kit building. Goes out and buys dozens of kits. Also watches David's videos and gives up in despair as he sees David's skills and expertise and believes he will only mess up and never achieve the end result he dreamed of for himself. Sees the stack of kits every day, constantly mocking him, reminding him of unfulfilled expectations.
You know how modern IFVs often have AT rockets attached to the sides of their turrets? Something like a Rheinbote strapped to the turret's side on this monster would have been *perfect*. Awesome work, as always.
This video pulled me in, watching as this crazy idea for a tank kept getting more and more extreme. I hope it was as much fun to build as it was to watch!
Also erstmal Herzlichen Glückwunsch zu diesem grandiosen Modell.
May sound dangerous, but I don't think it is. As far as I know the Merkava has a fuel tank in the turret between inner and outer armor wich serves as an additional protection layer.
Thank you for some great inspiration for my what if idea. My plan is a Maus dug in with a destroyed Soviet tank out front. The Maus has been abandoned and an American team with a Dragon wagon is trying to figure out how to recover it.
Thank you so much for this video. The model looks amazing as always, but I finally had the chance to see someone going through the full process of making a red oxide surface and other details that I didn't know. I will practice the techniques in the future.
One of the best Plamo's assemble. But I have to assume that i really dislike the tissue effect over the cannon. The painting was absolutely incredible! 10/ 10, Master! Greetings from a scale modeler from Brazil.
Again, another masterpiece! I cannot believe how much details you put in those small scale models it is just mind boggling! You should build more Gundam though lol; like the MG Barbatos, that would be right in your alley!
@Sam Petel first to get your equipments and tools like nippers and files etc. Then you buy some cheap model kits to get a feel of your tools, then you buy the kits you like once you feel confident enough to tackle them.
This was a very interesting build to say the least. I watched the National Geographic series on Nazi Super weapons that featured the Maus.I was impressed by the size but not much else as it was too heavy for all but dry roads and very underpowered. I will say the version you built would look right at home in a Mad Max movie. Thanks for sharing.
The Maus tank would look right at home in the Warhammer 40K universe. From a narrative perspective you could claim it was the great, great, great, great, great, etc grandfather of the Baneblade. Fantastic example of creative modding. Thank you Plasmo and "For The Emperor!"
David, it's always a good day when you release a new video. And you have the happy knack of being intimidatingly good and motivating at the same time. Thank you again !!
The Australian Armour and Artillery Museum's channel has a video series on their restoration of a Goliath. The work they're doing is incredible and I recommend checking their stuff out.
Can u imagine being the poor guys on the flak!!! Riding around on a monster target of a tank and everyone else is nice and cozy behind 50 tons of steel while your up top banging away with your flak crew!
2:02 You know when David says "minor modifications" we're going to be in for a ride.
one day he will show the box, throw it and then build the model from scratch ^^'
If we ever hear him say "moderate modifications", we'll probably see him making an RC model out of the static one.
@@pandaDotDragon you should see his war rig model
What is that added tube on turret?
@@dwayne7201 the War Rig isn't a scratch build it's just downloaded and printed. A scratch build is mostly made from styrene sheets with a few parts from different models.
That is the 3D style for Maus in WoT
I was about asking that 😄
Huh; I made a cartoon representation of that very skin
in my opinion, it's the best skin of all of them.
I got the drip lol
Wait really? Can you use the quad 20mm on top? (I’m a wt player)
A great enhancement would be to add wings and jet engines to this, for greater manoeuvrability. I'm sure there were plans to do that so it wouldn't be an implausible mod

Dont forget the swimming pool and bowling alley
Don't give Mike Sparks any ideas

I think that's the point of giving it a dedicated Anti-Air station on top
Hmm I suppose the anti air turret that’s nicely sat on its turret is the reason it’s got so far then!
The maus could work if you had air superiority and where assaulting a heavily defended position or in a defencive role with heavy aa support but logistically its a nightmare so it would be very hard to get it in the fight to begin with

practice makes perfect dude, keep at it and you will make something that truely fills you with pride.
Don't give up, you are doing this for fun.
A classic example of an "Artisan" doing what they do best.
A pleasure to watch you doing magic as you do so incredibly well.
Looks like something straight out of 40K! Great work as always!
There's something rather... wargamey about a heavy battle tank with a quad-auto-cannon on top.
@@RokuroCarisu yeah! And later on in the video David mentions that it looks like an ork tank 😂
@@georgiosstathopoulos I think it looks like something the Imperium would field. Not enough scrap bolted on for Orks.
I would like to see David tackle Horus one day, and I am willing to bet even that model will have "minor modifications"=)

Omg he actually built the Maus Haus! And it looks absolutely amazing! :-)
The allmighty chonker maus
As a german iam really impressed how good you pronounce german numbers and words and as always the model look fantastic!

More dakka!
1/72 armor certainly has come up in quality. Excellent work!
I have seen a lot of amazing stuff, but this beats it all. What a craftmanship and infinite patience and creativity. Congrats
Man, you are at another level of good, 30 years ago I won diorama contests but you are at another level, after watching you work I want to get back in
Your chipping work on the back deck of the tank is one of the best ive ever seen. Wow🔥

My favourite model on the channel so far, keep up the good work David 👍

Having a large fuel tank right at the turret....whoa, you like to live your live dangerously haha. Amazing job by the way!

Another top build. I belive u are the 1.72nd scale modelling master 🙏
It's hard to tell where the skill ends and the magic begins, nice one!
It looks like the maus 3D- skin from World of tanks
It is the 3D skin and he used the ripped model from the game files to print the parts. That's why the printing went horrible on the first try.
Yes, it is COPIED and he is playing like its his imagination

Always impressed with how you paint a model that is already assembled!
