    Mastering a beginner is not a waste. Yes, they give a minor stat boost passive, but they also give you a movement combat art that you can use in any class. Most noteworthy is the Soldier class that gives Reposition. Mounted units can continue movement with Canto after using Reposition. It's a great way to boost movement! You can use several units to ferry another across the map before that unit even takes its turn! So yeah, master Soldier. The other beginner classes, I would say use them for the sake of unlocking Intermediate classes faster.

      I don't think anybody is saying not to. It is just that only a few should really be tried for unless you just want to cheese the system like using unlimited turn auxiliary battles and let a bow attack you from a distance while you dodge or take no damage. Under ordinary circumstances you level higher past the point of the class upgrade before you max a class out which loses you out on potential growths for that character. Some are worth it but I would say a lot of them are definitely not. It's all up to the person though and how they play. After looking at the benefits long term the only ones that seem worth it are the ones you mentioned. Movement boosts are always nice though they will eventually be overtaken by optional higher move set classes later on.

      Yea but your experience is not mine. Reposition was MASSIVE for 2 chapters specifically in my Blue Lions Maddening noNG+, in ch13 I would've been softlocked without Reposition on Dimitri becuase the first turns are brutal, and in Ingrid's paralogue I was without divine pulses and the only safe strategy to finish the map was to Reposition Ingrid whom had the march ring to reach with max mov the last tiles to escape. Your opinion are trash and that's the only way to put it. They are useful everytime even in early game since units have so little mov. You should play your way and you have to right to have fun however you like. But before giving shit advice you should double check, ask better players or just get good; because you are making other people's time harder for some petty views.

      Speed is master stat. Anything that boosts speed is worth it at least early game. Magic is also always a plus for any magic users until they get access to better stuff, and even then, like, if you've got room for it, it's never a BAD option.

    "The Beginner classes are not worth grinding early game."
    They still give better growths and proficiency bonuses (Like Myrmidon giving Sword Exp +1) than the Commoner/Noble class. Do you prefer spending 9 levels in the base class which gives literally nothing, or 5 levels in a class that boosts your unit a bit while also granting useful movement combat arts? I know my answer. It's not like you'll get into the Intermediate classes any faster by purposefully handicaping your units.
    The Beginner classes also only require 60 Class Exp to master, I wouldn't really call that "grinding", especially with the Cethleann Statue boost.

Currently im on my second playthrough with the golden deer and after that i have blue lions which my friend has been basically BEGGING me to play because of how much he enjoyed it as his first playthrough and it kind of makes me upset knowing i somehow chose the 4th route on my first playthrough because i was going in completely blind and didnt know i could miss out on doing an actual black eagles run i thought all i had to do was choose black eagles so yeah! beginner classes are worth at least go through. if ur at lv 10, us should wait at least to master the beginner ones since any class can have repositional combat arts, which are super good, in particular resposition. Also noble and commoners have 0 percent growths in everything except 5 percent in charm, meanwhile, u can have a 5 percent in either spd str dex or res, also spd str def and mag+2 are worth it, spd can determine whether u get doubled or not, and mag affects all sorts of things, including recruiting students

    "skip the beginner classes" wat... "hubert got Dex +4 from his Dark Mage mastery" haha wat...
    The difference in growths between beginner and intermediate classes is at best 25% total, with no single intermediate classes raising a primary stat by more than 5% more than its corresponding beginner class. Since you have to be in beginner classes until 10 anyway, and you'll have them mastered by 12-13, you're talking about 3 levels max of 'reduced' growth, 0.5-0.75 max reduced stats across the board, and 0.1-0.15 of a single stat you care about. Meanwhile, you gain +2 of that stat for mastery. It's way better to master beginner classes. (That doesn't even take into account the movement abilities!)

      Only classes that specialize in magic (any type, faith, dark, reason) can use magic. Other classes that can use weapons and magic are either character specific or not available on your protag. One of these such classes is the dancer class (might be only available to female characters) that you can teach to 1 unit in your house at a certain chapter. Wait do classes have exclusive an combat art that are gained through mastery?

      Marth not typically but some do (to my understanding) I think master classes have them

      Unpunk Actually I checked some sources online and well class mastery does come with a exclusive combat art.
      So I personally will recommend to master beginner, unless you don’t mind losing the art.

    • @Unpunk

      Marth the art if I remember correctly typically isn’t worth the time mastering it. Not very strong compared to just leveling up your characters skills

    Ok but magic +2 is way better than dexterity +4 so not the best example. Also idk how you had intermediate classes available as soon as beginner classes became available, that doesn't make any sense to me. Like yeah I'd change straight to intermediate if that were the case but how do you not get a D in anything for 10 levels?

    • @Unpunk
      @Unpunk  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s very easy to instruct your characters to level up their skills plus you can grind out auxiliary battles so that you don’t need to worry about skill level or character level

      aznpanda510x You can give a Fortress Knight Gauntlets. Honestly, anyone can use Gauntlets EXCEPT for mounted units. Even then, if you choose the Dismount option, then they can use them.

    • @PlasmaWisp100
      @PlasmaWisp100 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Fede Poyo If I unmount, it’s most likely because the terrain slows cavalry, therefore the infantry movement is actually farther than if on a horse. The only other reason would be to avoid weapons that have effectiveness like Horsekillers or Bows (for fliers).

    Nope do not skip maxing out the beginner classes. Max out everything!

  • @lawrencelasala8478
    @lawrencelasala8478 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Didn't finish when you already said to skip the beginner class. The advantage of beginner classes are the movement combat arts. This may work on Normal but that would be stupid if you're going on hard or maddening. Sheesh.

    • @Unpunk
      @Unpunk  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yea you are correct. That’s why this isn’t a guide for maddening mode. This strategy of skipping these classes works perfect for easy-hard but maddening is a whole another strategy of its own. Also at the time of making this video maddening mode didn’t even exist in the game so kinda isn’t a point in using that as a counter argument. 🤷🏼‍♀️

    Lots of bad info. You only need to master classes that have GOOD abilities like Desperation, Fiendish/Death Blow, Lifetaker, Quick Riposte etc.

  • @skins4thewin
    @skins4thewin 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    This is some pretty awful advice here. If you don't realize that you should just go for it with a 70+% chance of passing a Certification for a class, then you are a complete amateur. You can even use a new chapter save to save scum it to guarantee that you pass, as when a new week starts the chances are fixed, but it's still a really good chance of passing, so why would you wait? Nobody waits for a class when they have that high of a chance to pass.

    Your wording is awful. Using a beginner class is easily a good option. Mastering it, of course not. But the slight boost in growths and weapon experience make up for it greatly.

      There are plenty of ways to exploit the level gain of the class and not the experience itself if people are into that kind of thing. Same for weapon skills.

  • @Gkiss3955
    @Gkiss3955 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Maybe next time do some research beforehand because you give a lot of incorrect information. Mage is a beginner class, dark mage gives Dex+4, level cap is 40, etc. Also, those stat boosting abilities are good for a long time because you won't fill up your ability slots with five amazing abilities until late game. There's really no reason why you shouldn't be able to promote your noble/commoner when you're level 5 because that unique class doesn't take long to master. I don't know why you'd be level 10 before mastering them. Honestly your video is terrible and you should feel terrible for giving shitty advice.
