I know there's a lot of crafters that just can't bare to fussy cut, hut I find it really relaxing. Nothing better than a good snipping session on a really intricate image and seeing it look so lovely stuck to a project. Each to their own I guess and nothing wrong with that. It's why they invented dies. 😉x

Thanks Sam. I have one tip for sharpening my scissors, use a brillo pad, cut into it a few times and they cut fine after. xx

Thank you for this Sam! I hadn't heard some of these tips before. I like to cut up to the border, only because I can't get an even (or close) white line. Once I'm done cutting, I color the edges black (or whatever color ink I've used). I can't wait to try all these techniques. I see a lot of things I'm doing wrong while watching this.

Hmmm maybe that’s why my fussy cutting stinks - I wasn’t leaving a boarder because I thought it would be easier. It certainly was not. And I also didn’t keep my scissors at an angle. That was the best one. Thank you so much. I just got back into card making after a lot of changes in my life. I did not think fussy cutting was that difficult until I tried again and I was so discouraged. This video has given me back some confidence again.

Thank you so much! I’ve been trying and getting a little better but never thought about angling the snips. What a wonderful tip. It makes so much sense that we can see better and not be stressing the paper. You are a Rockstar!!

I was an art major in college, long, long ago. I got used to using an Exacto knife for cutting. I can create a white border of cut right to the line. I just can’t get used to using scissors. Will try your tips.

I have pickup up two pairs of the blue Tonic snips as they are currently half price from Tonic £2.25) and they arrived today. Using them is the difference between night and day to the scissors that I had been using. I have been practicing all afternoon and I think I am finally the hang of it with your tips with my boarders getting more even. Thank you. x

Great tips Sam. I don’t usually get good results when I fussy cut images and that is why I would rather use dies. Will try the things you suggested and hopefully things will turn out better for me.

Great tips. I wonder if you were holding your scissors upside down? I think that little hook is meant to rest on your pinkie? Anyway it's obviously not holding you back! :-)

Thanks Sam, though I am left-handed, with rather awkward hands- (there's always one !) so I do not like any cutting. Perhaps I should try again. I am one of those people who just cannot cut a straight line either ! Maybe just keep trying. Thanks for sharing and making me think about it.

Good basic information - one tip I could suggest is about your promo videos at the end of the current vid. Could you please put them into the top corners- you keep pasting them over the final product you are demonstrating. I'm finding it isn't worth watching to the end because I can't see anything.
