How To Setup Launch Control on ANY FPV Drone

How-To setup and use Betaflight's launch control feature. Although this is primarily for racing drones, you can set this up on any drone running Betaflight 4.0 or newer.

hot tip: don't copy code/console input text out of formatted docs like google or word, whitespace and other wonky formatting characters can come along for the ride and cause all kinds of havoc. always copy from a plain text source like notepad ;D

If you get an error about the OSD warning line, that's because:
"Added in 4.2: The OSD warning will start to blink when the throttle gets within 10% of the trigger percentage. Provides a visual indication that the throttle is close to triggering a launch." (from BF Docs)

Yes, if you crash and need to use turtle mode, you will probably have to disable launch control.

I dont think so. That would be nice. I have done it on my th2 freestyle. My radio is emax e8. So it only has 4 switchs. One is arming, one is modes, one is beeper and one is launch control. The launch control doesnt start te motors unfortuantly

Need to set your tigger higher.. like at least 50%.. my racers if you use Launch angle 70° and trigger 65% you leave a launch stand pretty much level with the ground

Yes if you’re a more experienced pilot I would use those numbers. I don’t think everyone would be comfortable with such an aggressive launch though, especially for newer pilots.

Thats interesting, are you sure its launch control and not just a delayed arm? On my buddies tinyhawk freestyle we would arm it and it would take 2-3 seconds before it armed.
In CLI you can type "Get Launch" and it will give you all of the parameters for launch control

Works with any quad. But its for racing. It had no point in freestyle.
