I went to All You Knit Is Love when I visited Barcelona last summer. I met the wife and she was so lovely. There was a sudden rainstorm so I got ‘stuck’ in the store. The owner and I just sat, talked and knit for a little bit and it was one of the highlights of my trip!
I was just in Barcelona and visited All You Knit is Love! I am bringing home one skein of their MurMur base (75/25 merino/cashmere) in Batllo blue, and one skein of the wool dreamers in a warm blush pink. So excited to knit with these! I may make a Musselburgh hat with the MurMur...still dreaming up projects. Hope you had a lovely time and when we visited Sagrada Familia I was completely awestruck. Stunning.
Thanks for sharing your Barcelona purchases and those glorious photos of La Sagrada Familia. I love seeing yarn shops from Europe. I became a knitter because of yarn shops in Angers, France, and my English neighbors at our university dorm. Very nice visit. Thank you
So glad you enjoyed, Liz! It's always fun visiting different yarn shops around the world and "tasting" different yarns. I can see how they inspired you to pick up knitting. I love that!! 🤗
You’re sooo right …”Stephen West of architecture…” Oh. My. That cathedral. What amazing-ness! And you’re right…no words! I have a huge & heavy book from a college art class (from beginning of time to current), I’m sure that cathedral/buildings would be in there. Thanks for the inspiration to lug it off the shelf & peruse (again!). Nice to see new projects! The Yarn Haul… gorgeous stuff!
Yes I saw your pics on Instagram looks like you had a great trip. Lovely 😊 thanks for sharing. Always love your endless creativity. I can’t wait for the quilt to be done as it looks AMAZING.
Just FYI Eric Woolfson (The Alan Parsons Project) wrote a Musical on Antoni Gaudis Life highlighting the time around the build of La Sagrada Familia. Musically it is based on the Alan Parsons Project Album Gaudi. Mighty fine music. Worth a listen.
Thank you for sharing! 💜 I LOVE Wooldreamers. Especially Dehesa de Barerra, and I carry it in my yarn shop. I'm knitting with that green color you mentioned right now. It's glorious! I carry the shade you purchased, also. I want to knit with all of them!
"the Stephen West of architects"--yes!! 🙂 have you seen the "Gaudi" pattern on rav? ...we still have our mug with a mosaid print like at Parc Guell. thx for the great pics of Sagrada Familia--they've made lots of progress since i was first there in the 70s. glad you got to enjoy Barcelona!
Your brioche pattern looks like your storage boxes behind you. Beautiful pattern but I hate brioche! Love the Casa Sol yarn. It looks gold from here and not green. Your quilt will be beautiful when finished. You have so many different kinds of projects going. It's always interesting to see what you are up to next. The photos of those buildings are amazing. Well said about the designer being the "Stephen West" designer of buildings! Thank you for sharing it all with us.
Thank you so much! What can I say? Having lots of projects on the go keeps things exciting. How many will I finish is the real question. 😜 And another commenter said the same thing about the baskets. Too funny! 😆
Loved this video. I hadn’t listened in a while and so much inspiration. In particular, I, too, am drawn to crochet of late and I’ll head out to JoAnn’s tomorrow to pick up the thread for that beautiful doily. And your crocheted granny square blanket has got to go on my queue as well Actually teaching a crochet basics class in 2 weeks to some of my knitters here in White Plains. So glad to see you promoting crochet on your channel. PS Wool Dreamers has a presence in the US and they had a booth at VKL in February.
Welcome back to my channel, Laurie! 🤗💖And thanks for letting me know about Wooldreamers! So happy to know they sell in the US!! Another commenter (PaperCraneYarns) mentioned she sells it in her shop. 💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻 It's such beautiful yarn! Enjoy your crochet class - Hurray for more crocheters in the world! 😄
Do magic loop your sleeves, it's so much easier, creates even stitches (no gauge difference) and is faster. Just make sure to have a long cable. (coming from someone who hates small circumference and magic loops literally everything lol)
I considered it but realized my US 2 circs were occupied by another project 😂 I had been wanting to get a dpn set just to have so I took the opportunity. But yes! Normally I'd go for magic loop in this case.
Thank you so much! I hope you give it a try. It's not as scary as it looks. 😉 Honestly, it doesn't feel much different from working with a larger gauge. If anything, it's holding the work closer and having good light to see the smaller stitches. 😄
If you keep falling into the doily rabbit hole, I highly recommend Grace Fearon patterns. Also, it's too bad you are frogging the Stephen West brioche pattern because I laughed when I noticed that it totally matched the drawers/bins behind you!
Ooh! Thanks for the recommendation. Definitely adding some of her patterns to my queue! 🤗 Ahh, and you're right - flying foxtail DOES match those bins. ::sigh:: maybe I'll revisit the pattern in the future. It really is a gorgeous design!
Gaudi IS the Stephen West of architecture!! I love Barcelona. I want to go back when Sagrada Familia is complete.

Such a nice memory to have! 😄
I love my wooden double pointed needles. I used 5 in a sock I tried to knit. My first sock knitting

I love to hear about your quilting! It's a fun and unique segment
The Flying Foxtail's "holes" looked just like the ones in the baskets behind you!

I bought the Patches of Stars book and templates to make the Edyta Sitar “Star Upon Stars” quilt. I have not started it yet.

Beautiful doily Kristin. You are inspiring me to stop procrastinating and learn to crochet. Thanks for sharing your new yarn, so beautiful.
Do it!!!!!! Crochet is so much fun and addicting you'll wonder why you waited. 😄
Same!! That doily is gorgeous

Ooh, that green. I'm still lusting over it. 🤤 And SO great to know you carry Wooldreamers!! I may have to treat myself one day 💖
Oh vacation Kristin have different color taste than the homey one 😃
Thank you Kristin, beautiful Kismet, really enjoyed your yarn haul💖
Thanks so much. So glad you enjoyed!! 🤗

There are a few Gaudi-inspired patterns - LOVE IT! 😄 Dennis bought us a little "Gaudi Cat" souvenir, painted to look like mosaic tiles. It's so cute!
Wow, your doily is almost finished. Love it! The quilt will be fantastic and I love the idea of using it as a wall hanging.
Thanks, Nora! You may have created a doily-making monster 😂
@@Voolenvine you’re welcome. 😂♥️

I thought Catalan wasn’t spoken much anymore. Interesting! Very cool makes and yarn haul.

Beautiful! Casasol is a great yarn.
Thanks, Pam! Can't wait to work with it!!
Unbelievable crochet Kristin❤ I have similar pieces from my great- grandmother and have not been brave enough to try the fine crochet thread.

@@Voolenvine Thanks for the info. I will give it a try! Keep inspiring us🌸
Just use 2 shorties when doing smaller circumference knitting
Is there a way to turn the wrap into a collar of a new top instead of ripping out ?
🍀

Fyi there is a sweater patter named Gaudi.
It must be an european vocabulary noticeable on podcadts. I cast on, not - I casted on.
