good video Jeff you get the details of innocuous other people don't even notice. Was looking to see if the new headlight was a direct swap for a 23, you answered my question and then some. Will be in Colorado riding the first week of september will swing by shop.

Nice to see the triple clamp is easily exchangeable. As for the headlight mine will go on the shelf as I run a saw rack with a led under the front edge .

Hoping for a solution to run a blank front number plate without headlight. I made a bushing for my 21 300 W because I race it and don't need the headlight, and keeps me from damaging it in a crash.

      1. Don't feel the need because my suspension is excellent. 2. Don't want to add more weight.

The new headlight push button switch has failed on my 24 350 XW-F. After you turn it on and start riding the trail vibration turns it off. I just ordered a new aftermarket switch from
True North Moto to replace the stock switch. Slavens should start carrying these replacements as the stockers are prone to fail from what I have read.

I can attest to the stock headlight being very flimsy. Destroyed mine into a few pieces from a simple stick, and their really isnt any replacements with the correct plug yet. Trying to find out if any previous years used same plug

I have the SXS and run in Mi woods. Can confirm, they take big hits. Have smacked a >4-5” pine trees on a few occasions.

What about a '24 headlight on a '23 or newer XC ?? The 24 headlight uses the shorter XC brake line, the older headlight mask requires that you use the XCW front brake line to clear the mask. So, if you own a '23 or newer XC and want to use the newer '24 headlight (and retain your original XC front brake line), what's it going to take to mount the new XCW headlight onto the new XC's?

    • @slaverace1
      @slaverace1  ปีที่แล้ว +1

Don't know what it takes BUT I wouldn't do it. The '24 headlight mounting system sucks. Mine broke during an easy tip over. I'm going back to the rubber strap design.

What is your setup on your 17?
      I'm also 6'4".
      '17 300 XCW
      Stock clamps
      Stock bars
      1 inch cheapo bar risers.
Bars in full forward position (front mounting hole and forward biased bar mount orientation)
      Cycra handguard
But I'm looking to go with a taller bar and removing the cheap risers as I think I want the bars further forward instead of up and slightly back that the riser blocks offer.
I'm also running evo4 foot pegs in lower position. Seems to help a little with geometry and comfort.
EE tall seat. Very noticeable benefit for long days , helps with transition from sitting to standing.

KTM is at the forefront of R&D and has made many great improvements to the `24 models, but that doesn't mean I like every little thing they change. Your time would be much better spent riding instead of judging every word that comes out of my mouth.
