Thanks for watching! We’re not usually big city people but boy did WE HAVE FUN in Guadalajara! 💃🕺Cool buildings, markets, tequila, mariachi bands… what’s not to love?! What was your favourite part? 😄 Wanting to experience more of Guadalajara? Check out some highly recommended tours here 👉 bit.ly/GuadalajaraExperiences
I don't know if you are still close to Jalisco, but you could go to small pueblo, called tequila where the drink came from, there is a train tour to a tequila hacienda, you could also visit some small circular pyramids called guachimontones near the city, or visit Chapala and Ajijic, many retired ex-pats live in those places, and of course visiting Puerto Vallarta
Came to Guadalajara because of your recommendation and ended up staying 10 days volunteering at a hostel just to immerse myself in it even further! Such a gorgeous place.
Another great video guys! Tortas ahogadas can vary widely depending on where you get them from (there are ones with delicious fish “carnitas” and cream-based sauces, for example, as well as ones that definitely pack more of a kick). Try a few more before you leave Jalisco! If you come to Chapala/Ajijic feel free to reach out - it’s a sort of surreal experience with the amount of gringos here, but we’ve found our own niche for the time we’ve been in Chapala. Thanks again for all the great content. ❤
We are glad that you guys are enjoying our beautiful country! Totally different from what Hollywood shows you in the movies isn't? Enjoy it and have fun guys!.
It brings back memories of visiting my aunt. I love the food, the music and the people. It is such a relaxing vacation and a different culture. We want all of our families to travel safely to and from Mexico, with all respect!
So glad you guys are enjoying every corner of Mexico that you can get to. Guadalajara is beautiful. I don't know anything about that wooden art piece but it seems so cool! I wonder if they had an outdoor art exhibition or a festival for mariachi music
@@EricandSarah That looks like a memger of a Mariachi band. Big sombrero with the blue tie. Didn't you say that's where the mariachi bandas started? I was there in March 2023 and I also went to the Parian in Tlaquepaque. I saw the wooden mariachi bust.
Thanks for another great video! I just watched Eva Longoria’s special on Jalisco, and it really made me want to go there as well. I’m slowly getting to know different parts of our beautiful (and huge) neighbor to the south. SO MUCH to see
You are great emissaries of Guadalajara, Mexico Liked everything about the video. The Doubletree by Hilton was a coup d’etat. A great hotel in the middle of everything. I really like the camera action where you filmed flamenco dancers from ground level. How did you pull that off?
@@pablerry Thank you for citing my misnomer of the form of dance which was Jalisco dancing. But the way, that Eric had filmed the Jalisco dancing was truly fabulous!
I already made plans to stay at the Doubletree before watching this. Thanks for reinforcing that decision. I also am glad I am going in late October. Hopefully it will be more temperate then.
Ty for sharing. My dad took me Guadalajara and to El Parian for my 15th bday and Ive always wanted to return. My grandmas house was a short walk from there in Tlaquepaque ❤❤
You"ve missed Zapopan!! The siamese twin sister of Guadalajara {they are conjoined cities in the GDL metro area}. Both old and new Zapopan are to me the best parts of GDL along with Bosque de Colomnos. The Basilica of Zapopan from the 1500s is stunning
You handled the sunglasses transaction like a champ, the walking away (usually) helps but she was right.. you can’t really haggle with all that gear on.
It’s always good to be cautious and aware. But we felt perfectly safe in downtown and Tlaquepaque. We were extra careful in the market and on the metro though (just because there’s more people in a small space).
Great video! But something to consider; IMO we shouldn't bargain like this. The $100 pesos discount you asked for is equivalent to $5 right now. At the end of your vacation would this $5 (even if you bargained 20 times) make a big difference in your life? Your hotel is currently over $200 a night, your flights were likely almost $1000. But to that vendor a $100 peso loss could mean the difference between eating and getting needed meds for a family member. I never bargain in Central America. Just my 2 pesos.
Tbh you can get those sunglasses for 100 pesos! That market you went to is known for fraudulent activity, i live in Guadalajara so i know the ins and outs
One thing that bothers me is that you guys don’t seem to research into the best places to eat. Maybe I’m wrong. But you just kind of eat anywhere and I feel like your missing out on the best places.
We actually do a lot of research into where and what to eat. But at places like food markets… we like to wander until we find a place with lots of locals eating.
You should have walked west from Centro all the way to Glorieta Minerva. That's what the city is all about. All the tree lined streets and cool terraces to eat and drink. I think that's why you prefered Guanajuato. I don't think it's a fair judgement if you only visited downtown.

looking back, what did you (what doyou now make) of Cuenca.....big nut not that big...400,000.
We were looking at the Doubletree....exactly what we want!! Not city people either but cant wait to go!
Thank you guys for showing to the world my beautiful hometown of Guadalajara. ❤❤❤
Your hometown is a beautiful place! 🇲🇽
Came to Guadalajara because of your recommendation and ended up staying 10 days volunteering at a hostel just to immerse myself in it even further! Such a gorgeous place.
We love to hear that!! So glad you’re enjoying that beautiful city ☺️
wow!
Was hoping for one on Guadalajara! What an amazing city! Great video as always! :)
Thanks! We really loved Guadalajara!

Definitely! It’s so much better 😄
The character in the plaza is Vicente Fernandez, one of the most recognized artists in Jalisco. Saludos desde Aguascalientes, Mèxico.
Oh good to know! Thank you! Is the art piece always there or just for the festival?
Just for the festival
It brings back memories of visiting my aunt. I love the food, the music and the people. It is such a relaxing vacation and a different culture. We want all of our families to travel safely to and from Mexico, with all respect!
Another great video. Guadalajara looks like a great place to visit. Cheers from Ontario.
It really is a beautiful city!
Gracias por visitar Mexico.
6:22 The first time I went here I said "This is where Jackie Chan would fight."
It looks so beautiful! You guys are great, thank you for sharing your experiences.
So glad you enjoyed it! 😄
Hello guys! I live in Guadalajara, and I love how cultural is the city...thank you for sharing 🫶🏻
Amazing!! We love Guadalajara. We will definitely be back someday
@@EricandSarah Fantastic!

So glad you guys are enjoying every corner of Mexico that you can get to. Guadalajara is beautiful.
I don't know anything about that wooden art piece but it seems so cool! I wonder if they had an outdoor art exhibition or a festival for mariachi music
We’re doing our best! Apparently the art piece is of a famous Mexican artist and it was built for a festival (not sure what the festival was exactly)

Muchas gracias por visitar a Guadalajara 😊
You’re so talented! We LOVE your vlogs! Can’t wait to go to Guadalajara now! ❤️
Thanks John and Bev! You are always too kind 🥰
totas ahogadas, y cazuelas. glad yall had fun!
We had a great time!
Es tan precioso el estado de Jalisco , pero les falta explorarlo más , sus otras joyas son ciudad Guzmán, Autlán de navarro y lagos de moreno

Not Flamenco, this is Jarabe Tapatio, 100% Jalisco dancing.
@@pablerry Thank you for citing my misnomer of the form of dance which was Jalisco dancing. But the way, that Eric had filmed the Jalisco dancing was truly fabulous!
Thanks Bodvar! We appreciate that! We had the camera pretty much on the ground to film the dancers… really happy with how the shots turned out 😄
Heading there at the end of this month, your video helped a lot. Thanks!
So glad to hear that ☺️
Jajajaja enjoy Jalisco friends !! Jalisco is a beautiful !!
Loved your video ❤. We are heading there next week 🙏

Same room we stayed in June!! such a great place!!!!
Hahaha ✍️adding saucy meat to descriptive food words . Awesome vid you guys , that market looked so fun!
Hahahaha right up there with dank. I’ll teach you all my words eventually 😉
Guadalajara is such a nice place
We really enjoyed our time there!
Thanks for sharing! Heading there in November 🙌
The market you guys went to is quite famous in Guadalajara because they sell some of the best copies of designer clothes there hahah
Hahah there were a lot of “brand names” there 😉
I’ll be there in January. Looking forward to it.

Great video. I am a fellow Canadian who has lived here since the mid 90s. Well done!
I've just discovered your channel, I was there recently and your video was good inspiration ! You have a new subscriber :-)
Thanks again
If you guys get a chance visit colonia Americana....
Have you lived there? What makes it special?! I'm thinking about staying in Guadalajara but not sure what zona, colonia etc...
The most mexican City, tequila, mariachi and charrería!
Guadalajara is a huge city and 2nd largest city in México. Modern city
Whats next ? when do you head back to Canada ? very warm right now, but cold front moving thru so dont rush. 🙂
Very soon 👀 But we still have quite a few videos from Mexico to share yet!
I'am Groot ....😂😂 Mexican style
🤣🤣🤣
There's probably a higher price for foreigners, but you don't have to haggle so hard with people who have a minimum wage of about $17 a day.
You guys are hispanic looking that's good when traveling in mexico! I don't know about Germany! lol
We do get asked frequently if we’re from Argentina haha
EHE SECOND. CITY OF MEXICO"
Eagerly waiting to see the Eric statue in BC...😊 I think Sarah wasn't convinced with the sandwich 😅
We’re commissioning the statue as we speak 😉 🙎🏽♂️🤳🏽
I know that traveling it's not cheap but in the States a regular Chinese low quality sunglasses almost cost $20 dollars.
20 dollars = 355 mexican pesos.
You handled the sunglasses transaction like a champ, the walking away (usually) helps but she was right.. you can’t really haggle with all that gear on.
Nah they are just cheap LOL
do you have to worry about your camera gear there ? Great to see you. thanks.
It’s always good to be cautious and aware. But we felt perfectly safe in downtown and Tlaquepaque. We were extra careful in the market and on the metro though (just because there’s more people in a small space).
I thought that it looked like Vincente Fernandez ,Mexican singer and actor.
From Guadalajara to Tlaquepaque do you go by a metro?
Yes! It was quite simple from downtown. Though I don’t recall which stop it is 😅

My mom's home town, never been there
Hopefully you get to visit one day!
Que te vayas. El vuelo de Tijuana a Guadalajara en Vivaaerobus te cuesta como solamente 80 dolares de ir y vuelta. Esos son pocos dolores!
Cocula is the birth place of Mariachi
It took me a long time to eat all the popsicles needed to get enough popsicle sticks to make the Vicente Fernandez sculpture.
But you did it and it’s beautiful
Guadalajara Jalisco, the crib of Mexico's charreria and mariachi, and catholicism, also los Altos de Jalisco, A lot of European culture.
And take train tour to tequila city
We wanted to do that so bad but unfortunately did not have time 😢 We’ll have to return one day!
👍
Torta Submarina Ahogada. Jajajaja
It's a Mariachi image
Guys, actually, you supposed to eat it out of a plastic bag, because the juices.
I bet eric, is going to gain weight in Mexico, hahaha.
A charro. Mexican cowboy
Actually and recently, Monterrey, is the second largest city in Mexico, Guadalajara is third. Greetings from Mazatlan..

Make sure you squeeze lime on everything you eat meat wise just a quick tip!
Biggest indoor shopping in Latin America you obviously haven’t traveled much of Latin America go to bogota or Medellin
We’ve been to both of those cities actually. A quick google search would confirm that this is in fact the largest indoor market in Latin America :)
I prefer Guanajuato than Guadalajara...❤
Same! But we really did love both cities!
For tourism yes but for living Guadalajara is far more interesting and dynamic.
