  • This is the way I've found to help me know the speed of which the motor is running. It allows me to more accurately track objects in the night sky with a little trail research.

    Excellent Idea!
I 'm impressed... this is expensive device, but it's so limited. Thanks!

Great elegantly simple solution to set motor speed, brilliant idea and easy enough for a beginner to achieve. Nicely filmed and narrated video as well,Always great to have good clear audio and video when doing a demo video, thanks very much.

Fantastic idea. Great use of electrical engineering. A relatively cheap and highly effective way of controlling speed and correct for voltage drop due to temperate or weakening batteries. A shame they didn't include it in their design. Our variable speed ballast pump controls at work measure rpm's by htz. You effectively created a way to monitor tracking inaccuracy in that system. Excellent.

Thanks man to me this is a most do with this style of motor and astrophotography. As you know relying on sound alone is not good enough. I think I have also found a way to fix the voltage fluctuation as well. need to test first before posting!

Great idea! I just made an equatorial platform using that motor drive and with your mod I’ll be able to accurately monitor the speed!

Awesome video. Thank you so much. I am definitely on a budget and this will help me take better photos on my modest setup.

.....and the payoff at the very end. Very cool little trick. I will be applying this trick. Thank you for this.

Thats a good idea. I think I might have to try that with my RA motor drive. Thx for the vid

You can attach something permanent to this motor like this ( Mini Digital Voltmeter 0.28 inch DC 0-100V)

that was painfully boring to watch/ listen to, but a good idea...in the end..
