Actually, you hold the bottom button down until it remains solid (up to 20 secs). Then you hit the learn button 1x THEN you hit the button you want to program 2 times and wait (up to 30 secs) for the gate/door to open. Once the gate/door opens you then you hit any button. I hope this helps someone looking for information on hos to program the Liftmaster 374ut

Thanks for this. Saved me from returning the remote after the instructions didn’t work. Neither the manufacture of my door opener or this remotes instructions were right for pairing but this worked right away 👍🏻
