One cool little tidbit about Lorkhan which wasn't mentioned (though its just a theory anyway) is that the doom drum is actually that drum beat you hear starting in The Elder Scrolls Theme from the past 3 games. Ever since I read that whenever I open up an Elder Scrolls game and the menu theme starts playing my first thought is "Lorkhan", he really is Nirn.
I'm gonna argue Lorkan isn't dead. You can't truly kill a daedra so why would an aedra be different. His heart still beats and he still has influence over the world. If his body parts were to be united he'd return to "life".
To me lorkhan is to namira how trinimac is to malacath, like lorkhan corrupted himself to achieve achieve a nre physical form. Like the void was the shell of his old self and namira is the new self whose realm is the corpse form of the old self
The aedra gave up there the vast majority of their power in order to create the world. They are now bound by the rules of mundus where death is real. The daedra hold all their power and manifest aspirations of themselves in the mundus but are much weaker as they too are bound by its rules. So him being dead, is definitely plausible. The aedra themselves are more or less dormant and relying on prayer for strength.

I love thinking about how Elder Scrolls started as a DnD game, which makes me think that Tiber Septim ascending to Talos was probably a player's character in the game and now he's one of the most known fantasy gods in the whole world
I think the biggest mistake you're making about Akatosh is the fact that he represents the mystic beginning, middle, and end of each cycle. Very much based on the Indian/Hindu mythology version. There is the creator ,Auriel, the preserver in Akatosh, and the destroyer Alduin. Each is the same being over all, but each has its aspect in each cycle. Y'ffre definitely belongs on the list, if anything Drew didn't sell him enough. Should have kept emphasizing how important he was in establishing the natural order of the world, The early chaos of the world was enough to break the Elnofey into two separate groups (Nowdays Men and Mer), It could have been even worse if Y'ffre didn't step in, now the guy is essentially responsible for the laws of nature and ecosystems. I've got him at 4 on my list
Definitely keep this series going. It’s super nice to look forward to an hour break everyday with new elder scrolls information especially opinions on those things because so often elder scrolls lore videos are just here’s what the facts are end video.
I love your podcasts. Seriously, they are one of my favorite things now, and I'm watching this for the second time. Also, Drew, Y'ffre is awesome. You are so right.
Fun fact, M’aiq is not one Khajiit. It’s actually a line of Khajiit all named M’aiq the Liar. In Morrowind, for instance, he’s even a different breed of Khajiit than the ones in ESO, Skyrim, and Oblivion.
@@averyvonfrank3282 I did see him get attacked constently by a scavenger and not once die! He runs at super speed and doesn't seem to die when attacked mabe he is a God that just doesn't fight 🤔
Sithis is a representative of Anu & Padomay, the forces all gods play around in and the 'parents' of the gods. They are to the gods, what Nirn is to Mortals. However, super funny comment lol
Akatosh/Aka-Tusk/Alduin/Alkhosh/Ruptga/Auriel/Auri-el and Lorkhan/Shor/Shezzar/Sep are my favorite dirties in the elder scrolls due to the dichotomies they share along with both their antagonism and also friendship in some cases and the chaotic nature both share. For example, with the Time God's many interpretations and personalities and with Lorkhan's padomaic nature. Also with some Shezzarine were also blessed by the time god in a form, with Aka bestowing the dragonblood in some cases like with Hjalti and Wulfharth, or possibly with the Dovahkiin being both Shezzarine and obviously having Dragonblood with the Greybeards explicitly saying you are essentially serving Akatosh. Another example would be with Pelinal being a possible Shezzarine and also being blessed by Aka, calling out their shared madness and also considering the theory of him being from the future meaning the forces that brought him to the time of Alessia being forces of Time and Space, Aka and Lorkhan.
I think the Gods could be separated into two categories: Spectacle Gods and Functional Gods. A Spectacle God would be like Kyne which does cool things and Mara would be a functional God that holds society together, so how you would rank each God would revolve around which aspect is most appealing to you
It would be cool to rank each race on their ability to be a mage/warrior/thief in the elder scrolls law. Like debating weather an orc on average is stronger than a Nord or red guard or something
@@thalmoragent9344 yeah that would be cool. I wonder if the Aylieds would make better mages than the high elves considering all the stuff to do with them trapping starlight and stuff
Lorkhan is not passive, his activity is in all protagonists of the games. They were all shezareenes or his avatars. In Oblivion I always thought its cool that two guys who saved Tamriel were avatar of Akatosh (Martin Septim) and avatar of Lorkhan (Hero of Kvatch).Like idea of two avatars of gods who were kind of enemies working for the same purpose were always cool to me... p.s.I think he is the only one who knows that protagonists are his avatars.I think other gods are not even awere of that nor is player character
Oddly enough, I usually play a Nord, even in Oblivion, but I tend to favor Arkay. I feel that Arkay is the god who makes sure souls move on to where they need to go. In Skyrim, I carry extra Amulets of Arkay that I place on various bodies that I find. For example, the lighthouse that the Falmor have broken into, I always leave an amulet with the bodies of the mom, son, & daughter. (I think those are the only bodies, right? I can't remember if we find the son. The whole event stands out for me though, I can't forget the first time I found that lighthouse.) I don't know if it would be appropriate to leave amulets with orcs, but I don't recall finding many orc bodies, but I would still leave one. I assume that Arkay would help the soul move on to Malacath. Same idea for Khajiit & Argonians. I do not leave amulets with necromancers. As a matter of fact, I soul-trap any necros I find alive! Nor do I leave them with Falmer, animals, trolls, etc.
Honestly their needs to be more Elder Scrolls books series like Warhammer to flush out the lore. Cyrodiil and Imperials really need a near complete retcon.
I didnt realize that they were ranking the gods' personalities at first. I often think of the gods by their spheres. Zenithar and Julianos are my favorite gods, but when it comes to personalities, their list makes more sense.
I don't know much about the Hist, and lore-wise they aren't as fleshed out as other gods, but the Hist seems extremely interesting and the entire culture of the Argonians is alien in a good way.
He never does honestly, I like all these guys and they make great content, but Scott talks over the other two, alot of times I don't think he means to, but it happens non the less
Magnus was my number one, mostly because he's the top guy of the Magna-Ge, and the Magna-Ge are my number one for the list of "things I wish would get more screen time in the games than they do, and would get covered in more depth". Lorcan was my number 2, because even if you do discount stuff other people did with his remains as not really being his doing, he *still* did more, and had a bigger impact on the setting, than all the others combined. How the hell did ebonarm and xarxes even make the top 20, let alone the top 10?
Also I believe there is lore that the moons are Lorchan's body and I was surprised you guys didn't mention it I'm talking to you Drew. Also I would have put Magnus instead of Xarxes and switched Y'ffre and Stendar but other than that I think you guys did pretty good
If you go by Khajiit lore, the moons are their own entities, Jone and Jode. But I recall reading or hearing in Morrowind (the game) that the elves believe the moons are Lorkhan's body.
16:19 I think that, in reference to "Raymon Ebonarm" and "Reman Cyrrodil", you can probably think of it like the Yakudan god Orki and Malakath. There's probably a connection there, SOMEWHERE, but it's probably a lot less interesting than some epic team-up of god-cousins.
My top 5: 1. Auriel/Akatosh 2. Lorkhan/Shor 3. Y'ffre 4. Magnus 5. Mara The top four are kinda interchangeable because if one of them didn't participate in creating Mundus in one way or another, the creation would be a total failure. And I added Mara because there's no way you can go wrong with worshipping her.
Scott is usually kind of dominating the conversations in these podcasts. I would personally like to hear more from Drew and Michael. Not that Scott doesn’t have interesting points to add, but I’d like to hear more from the others.

On the other hand, I just don't know what kind of stories you have with Xarxes. He is kind of like Hermaeus Mora but not as creepy or interesting.
@@abiwonkenabi7027 Right. I get the impression that in any contest of knowledge, Xarxes would come a poor third after Hermaeus Mora and Jyggalag (whose library, before being burned, was said to contain a prediction of every detail of the world and of every action that would ever take place on Mundus or Oblivion before they happened). Dibella > Xarxes, definitely.

Love the podcast! A cool topic might be popular elder scrolls characters/monsters and their real world inspirations.
It is so funny watching Drew defend Xarxes to me because I have a Daedrologist playthrough and I use the Wintersun mod to have him worship Xarxes
I love these podcasts and the chillness of it all.
Love this series next week can’t come soon enough!
I always thought M'aiq the Liar was a god! How he appears in the Elder scrolls series and never gets old.
Fun fact, M’aiq is not one Khajiit. It’s actually a line of Khajiit all named M’aiq the Liar. In Morrowind, for instance, he’s even a different breed of Khajiit than the ones in ESO, Skyrim, and Oblivion.
@@averyvonfrank3282 it's still not confirmed he could be immortal or something else
@@averyvonfrank3282 I did see him get attacked constently by a scavenger and not once die! He runs at super speed and doesn't seem to die when attacked mabe he is a God that just doesn't fight 🤔
They call me M’aiq the capper, but they should be calling me “sir”
Well, there's this one theory that he's actually Lorkhan wondering the world as per khajiiti myths about him.
I’d like to see a group of men/elves that worship Xarxes and Talos together
Charon (Kare-on)... Though Tsun guarding the path to Sovngarde is more like Heimdall guarding the Asgard bridge.
No Sithis... You have just signed your own contract!
Hail Sithis!
Sithis is a representative of Anu & Padomay, the forces all gods play around in and the 'parents' of the gods. They are to the gods, what Nirn is to Mortals. However, super funny comment lol
Finally! My hours of binging your videos have paid off i love these deep lore discussions
Yffre: I am the Y'ffre and I speak for the trees.
A cool topic would be ranking the different eras based on there significance/coolness
Something cool to go over is The Special Powers that bend Universal Rules and Boundaries like The Thu’um,Sword-Singing,Tonal Architecture, etc.
Would we include the extinct races as well? Like the Aylieds or Falmer?
@@thalmoragent9344 yeah that would be cool. I wonder if the Aylieds would make better mages than the high elves considering all the stuff to do with them trapping starlight and stuff
Last time I was this early talos was still the emperor
Last time I was this early fudge Muppet was still doing twitch.
"The Nine Divine is boring. Daedra, they're never boring."
Vote KYNE
Sorry Kyne your husband is cooler.
50:40 "he's my favorite God, but he's my number two"
And Malacath is Boethiah's number two 😂
I didn't have audio up, but was watching when the topic turned to Dibella.... Seeing you all grin and blush simultaneously is hilarious!!!
Hey Michael,Scott and drew love your lore videos there is always a spark of energy to them that only Australians have.
I love this podcast! I can't wait to see what topic you guys pick next, keep up the awesome work, and thank you all
“Bro it’s a dragon” -Scott 😂
Oddly enough, I usually play a Nord, even in Oblivion, but I tend to favor Arkay. I feel that Arkay is the god who makes sure souls move on to where they need to go. In Skyrim, I carry extra Amulets of Arkay that I place on various bodies that I find. For example, the lighthouse that the Falmor have broken into, I always leave an amulet with the bodies of the mom, son, & daughter. (I think those are the only bodies, right? I can't remember if we find the son. The whole event stands out for me though, I can't forget the first time I found that lighthouse.)
I don't know if it would be appropriate to leave amulets with orcs, but I don't recall finding many orc bodies, but I would still leave one.
I feel similar to Scott that I'm mostly indifferent of the Aedra. I tend to gravitate to most of them based on their domain of worship then anything.
Do a deep dive into the various races of beastfolk of Tamriel, past and present, excluding the Argonians and Khajiit.
"Like you must really love commerce or something." ~1:31:42
That I do my friend, I do enjoy my amenities.
Drew basically didn’t get a word in for the first 15 minutes
He never does honestly, I like all these guys and they make great content, but Scott talks over the other two, alot of times I don't think he means to, but it happens non the less
@@XJonAye maybe it's simply their personalities...
@@Vlugazoide yea I wasn't knocking Scott, i was just saying that he talks over them, it probably is his personality
The Greek ferryman was called Charon if I recall
“I’m a god how can you kill a god what a grand and intoxicating innocence”
My top 5:
1. Auriel/Akatosh
2. Lorkhan/Shor
3. Y'ffre
4. Magnus
5. Mara
The top four are kinda interchangeable because if one of them didn't participate in creating Mundus in one way or another, the creation would be a total failure. And I added Mara because there's no way you can go wrong with worshipping her.
Scott is usually kind of dominating the conversations in these podcasts. I would personally like to hear more from Drew and Michael. Not that Scott doesn’t have interesting points to add, but I’d like to hear more from the others.
scott is like the host of the podcast that's why he talks so much he's the one that keeps the podcast rolling so it doesnt break down
but tbh drew hardly speaks especially during the first 15 minutes
ReAL passw0rd thot destroyer yeah again, I hope my comment didn’t come off as if I don’t appreciate Scott’s insight and knowledge on TES bc he’s clearly well versed in it. I just think that a good improvement for future podcasts would be more speaking time from Drew and Michael because they’re also entertaining to listen to is all
@@ciaranmck4469 even if he is the host it doesn't mean to always interrupt them and try to always make the other two have to agree with what he likes.
@@SultanFilm it's called moving the podcast along
Michael did it when scott put argonians in bottom tier and Michael was like demanding that they're higher
"Let it be known i was fighting for women's rights!"- the god of simps lol
Lorkhan made #1. And thats all that matters
Here's my Top 10:
1. Lorkhan/Shor
2. Kyne/Kynareth
3. Akatosh/Auri-El
4. Stendarr
5. Trinimac
6. Tsun
7. Talos
8. Ebonarm
9. Julianos/Jhunal
10. Mara
whys tsun there😂
@@ciaranmck4469 Idk I like that he's a bro to Shor and was so loyal he even died with him
I can respect this list. julianos def deserves some love.
I love that they went on such a tangent about Talos that they had to summarize their tangent, lol
Personally think that Dibella should have replaced Xarxes in number 10. :)
Yeah, I felt like they were dismissive of Dibella. Art and beauty are very important to culture and Dibella seems to be very influential on many mortals, with many direct followers. There is some untapped potential for some cool stories associated with her (A Brush with Death Quest is one such potential story associated with Dibella).
Dibella > Xarxes, definitely.
one of their podcast should be about all the schools of magic, tonal architecture, sword singers, and the thu'um , that would be great to see
Y’all should do something like this but with all the different vampire clans around tamerial
Drew you need to talk more! I appreciate how you listen you both the guys but you have good points as well. Say your wonderful ideas! ✊
This podcasts are getting spicyhahah like the imperial city arena fight between the fudge muppets lol
I can’t decide between Lorkhan and Kyne because they’re literally my favorite power couple in the Elder Scrolls series 😔❤️
Kyne is the best! i often roleplay as a valkyrie in her service in my playthroughs.
Scott looks like a pre made Oblivion Character.
An imperial lol
Ulfric jumps out of nowhere screaming: TALOS TALOS TALOS TALOS TALOS TALOS TALOS
Scott is difficult on these lists lol
I love these skyrim videos they make me think of the good old days staying up all night trying to lvl up my 7+ characters or just being random like stealing all the stuff in somebody's house in then dumping all of it right outside their door.
Talos is just Shazar reasserted into living Godhood. If you subscribe to his trinity based origin anyway. Shazar, Shor, and Lorkahn are all the same being. You have then listed the same entity twice in your list.
The ferryman is Charon.
The river styx ferryman is "Charon", and is pronounced "car on", like turning on your voice-activated automobile.
I would love to See you ranking key characters from the elder scrolls games , for exemple, divath fyr, vivec, ulfric, etc
Glad that Yffre and the bosmer are getting so much love in these podcasts. Lorkhan probably top for me and Yffre second.
My personal favorites are everyone in the Redguard pantheon. I LOVE how they take an elven view of things (further evidence of them being from a different kalpa IMO and also the elven view is the right one :p) Redguards best man race,
Ok so an hour and a half podcast. You are killing me it is going to take all day to get through it. Love your content though so it is worth it.
top 10 dark brotherhood assassins next? or dragon priests would be cool to
Oh God yes. Voting right the freak now for Elam Drals, the noted assassin foodie.
I feel like most of these I watch are Scott and Michael vs Drew on almost every topic
Ranking the emperors based on their coolness or accomplishments would be super sick or you could rank a dynasty or its specific members
I wish Zenithar had more stuff, he has been the basis for some of my favourite character builds; a smith merchant.
You should do an Elder Scrolls 6 special and an episode on Thras, Yokuda and Pyandonea
not really enough stuff for a podcast especially thras
I feel all three combined would be enough, remember they could go into the Thrassian Plague
@@mudcrabmenace8534 for about 5 minutes k then
Maybe for the next podcast you could tackle some of the biggest mysteries in the Elder Scrolls. Why did Falinesti disappear? What happens to every games hero's after they are done? How do the elder scrolls work? The towers that hold Nirn together?
doubt the towers will be used as a topic for a podcast as there isnt a whole lot to talk ab
same with what happens to the main characters it's already explained in a 15 minute video
Akatosh all the way baby! 🐲🐉
Heck yea!
How dare you forget about Mystara! I have received her blessings MANY times throughout the course of Oblivion
can we have a clip of the Talos discussion, that's what a podcast is for
