    Yeah Orcs are definitely a criminally underrated. Brutal but honorable warriors, that can endure hardship that would break the other races, and are absolute beasts in battle. Really hoping TES 6 is set in Hammerfell or High Rock and Hammerfell since we will definitely be getting some more orc lore and we will finally be able to visit Orsinium in a mainline TES game.

      I’m hoping it’s both. In that case, they can take the spaceship mechanics from starfield and apply them to boats for the illiac bay. Imagine having your own tiny dinghy and being able to work up to a full cargo sailing ship. Pirating between high rock and hammer fell. It would be incredible

      @@FumblsTheSniperI have to disagree with that take, as while Tolkien wrote them as Evil he did not think them Irredeemable... thats why I think TES is a closer successor, at least spiritually to Tolkien's Orcs. Question. How does Orsinium like, work? Multiple strongholds/clans in one castle? Or do they not necessarily follow the same practices that the Orcs of Skyrim hold? it’s hard to imagine it working with their culture

    • @TheHonoredMadman
      @TheHonoredMadman  ปีที่แล้ว +12

      I think several clans and strong holds operating in the borders paying tribute to the capital and orc king. But each stronghold and the other settlements of the orcs in orsinium is probably largely self governed. I could be wrong but i honestly could t find that much info on that tbh

    • @TheHonoredMadman

      Orsinium itself has a decent amount of land in between high rock and skyrim (currently) now theres also the capital city which is also called Orsinium which is probably something like imperial city but the orcish version and theres some other citys in the nation but smaller and i imagine a good amount of strongholds in the kingdom and across the mountain ranges

    Im not intending to mean this in any other way than (mostly) a compliment.
    You sound like if Rick, from Rick and morty, went into history rather than science, but because knowing everything about the Magna Carta and the war of 1812 doesn’t help you hop across space and time and visit other universes you just started learning history from all fictional universes. Same level of well informed apathy and clearly enjoying the humor where you can find it like with the orcs rubbing trini-mala-turd on their skin.
    It’s kind of refreshing and I do enjoy it.

    I've never understood why the orcs and Malakath were so disrespected and blown off. They're some of the toughest, strongest, most long-suffering group of people in the entire history of Nirn. They are the least understood, though they really aren't hard to figure out. They are proud, loyal, honorable, and some of the best warriors the Empire has ever had. They are a proud people, like their god. Malakath was a proud Aedra, which is what led to his fall. It wasn't being beat and changed by Boethia that sent him running off - it was the humiliation. His secrets were revealed, his lies called out - he was humiliated. Pride goeth before the fall, as it is said.

    • @huaiguzhu
      @huaiguzhu 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Malacath is literally the patron of the dishonoured and spurned, little wonder why normies don’t like him. Code of malacath is singlehandedly preventing the Orcish race from making societal progress, it advocates extreme tribalism and isolationism which makes it difficult to communicate and build good relations with other races, it also encourages internal strife and ableism (eugenics, polygamy)which causes individuals to leave and become city orcs who later assimilate into other societies, a massive brain drain.
      Individual orcs maybe strong, but in large scale conflicts their inferior culture predetermined their defeats, every, single, time.

    From my understanding, the Term "orc" was used before the Orcs, at least as we know them, existed.
    They were first called Orsimer, and then the other races extended the term "orc" to also include the pariah folk, probably due to similarities in appearance, and at some point, the definition of "orc" shifted, with the result, that the Term "orc" is now synonymous with the Orsimer.

    • @MadMamluk88
      @MadMamluk88 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yeah, I think elven society originally referred to goblins as “orcs” and extended this to the Orsimer since the two appear similar: green skin, tusks, etc as a way to denigrate them because goblins were enslaved by Aldmeri and later Altmeri society.

    It also sort of goes against their morale codes, which are about individuals finding success as opposed to a large group working for the goals of a single authority figure.

    • @WASDLeftClick

      Aedra and Daedra started off with roughly similar power levels, but the Aedra decided to participate in the project of creating the mortal world which actually resulted in them being dramatically less powerful as they were drained in the process. The Aedric gods are currently less powerful than Daedric Princes. Even Akatosh has done not much of anything for thousands of years.
