You know wherever Miyagi is, he saw Daniel and his totally control and was proud. Though I have to think that he was please to see Terry Silver get what was coming to him.
Daniel is, after all, the franchise character. Since 1984, he's defeated Johnny, Chozen, Mike Barnes, Robby's punk buddies, those goons at the garage, an entire hockey team, Kreese, and Silver. Granted, he's lost to some of these people too, but he's beaten all of them at least once.

This was my favorite moment in Season Five!! I love Terry Silver! But Daniel using Quicksilver against him the way he did was just so satisfying to me Ya Know! Like ultimately Daniel got closure here. And as much as I want Cobra Kai to continue past this season coming up, I'm satisfied as an 80s baby and 90s child, that it closed several chapters for the older characters.

Daniel was fully focused, better balanced and completely calm on the fight and did not allow Silver's taunting to get to him whatsoever. Daniel used Silver's Quicksilver technique against him, heading to the advice he got from Chozen. He also utilized the techniques he learnt from Chozen, Johnny and Miyagi. The icing on the cake was when Daniel used the crane kick, Silver often mocked Daniel for to finally defeat him.

Daniel winning is fine, but Terry needed to land a few hits on him, as it was a little hard to buy that he'd best Terry so easily all of a sudden. Good season regardless! Thomas Ian Griffith's return has been flawless!
I think that was the whole point of this scene. Miyagi Do Karate in perfect execution cannot be touched. The difference is Daniel cant defend/block/dodge for long cause he would give Terry the chance to feint or deceive and land hits. Instead he did what Silver would never expect. Use his own techniques against him, only he did it w/o adding any dirty or aggressively dangerous moves to it. The writers did an excellent job making Daniel perform all 3 steps of quicksilver in his own unique way, honorable and clean. He didnt sweep the leg, he armlocked Silver to the ground. He didnt strike the throat, he double punched the chest/thorax and finally he didnt break the nose, he crane kicked him just to make it more badass.
Terry was exhausted because of his previous fight with Chozen so he wasn't at his 100% when he was fighting him maybe that's why Terry can't land a hit.

As much as I love this scene and how it was edited intercutting the Quicksilver method, I do wish that Silver had been at 100% and not a bit worn out. It sours it slightly.

Honestly he could just get himself a goodass lawyer that could just make him get out on bail. The assault on Stingray wouldn't be counted as attempted murder and millionaires can easily pay bail for assault charges, not to mention Silver being attacked on his home and business would give him sympathy

As much as I love this scene and how it was edited intercutting the Quicksilver method, I do wish that Silver had been at 100% and not a bit worn out. It sours it slightly.
I don't mind, given that Daniel was out drinking all night before he got there too. I think the victory stands just fine - a together, focused Daniel can take Silver no problem.

Terry Silver is a charismatic character. I like him. He's evil but it's part of the character. Thomas Ian Griffith is a great actor, a good martial artist and...is gorgeous. Even now with the white hair he is. I love him! ❤
