    Absolutely great crash course. I am well versed in Vectorworks and this is legit. Thank you for creating this, it gives me somewhere to point people to when they say they want to learn Vectorworks. Learn this first and then you'll learn ways to make it faster.

    Why is my deafult design layer different than yours? I'm using the exact same version. Could it be because my loads in metric because of where I am and yours is imperial?

    CAN WE TRANSFER 3DS MAX FILE TO VECTOR WORKS AND RENDER?

    Hello! I am trying to follow along and build my own set but for some reason everything is just showing up as outline when I go 3D. I have no idea what I could have done but if you have any suggestions I greatly appreciate it! This video has been so helpful because I haven't used Vectorworks in a few years and forgot how the program works entirely!!!

      It probably has to do with your rendering style. In the top right of your VW workspace, you should see a little teapot icon. Click that and you should have multiple rendering options. You might currently be in wireframe or sketch, maybe try switching to shaded. Lmk if that works! J

      @@JonathanDMartinLD having the same issue! I only have shaded and wire frame, I selected shaded and still just showing a wireframe for my stage.

    I don't have event design or create stage. I've always used extrude and it turns everything to just outline so I want to level up from that. Please advise! I'm on mac

    • @JonathanDMartinLD
      @JonathanDMartinLD  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Annie! Those options are only in Spotlight. Check under "Tools" and scroll to the bottom where it says "Workspaces" and there you can change into Spotlight, assuming you own it or have the student version.

    I'm trying to follow along but for some reason the stage that I create is not lined up with the grid...
    I tried adjusting the units to feet and inches, I made sure it was in 1 : 48 scale, and arch D... I'm not sure exactly what I'm doing wrong but the stage is not centered to the grid or the grid is wrong some how...

      Hey! Look through VW support, I'm sure you'll find some helpful stuff there: www.vectorworks.net/en-US/support - J

    Why isnt my stage solid? or black? when I follow the steps and select front view with the Normal perspective I get a hollow box with no color. Please help.

    Omg. Slow down! Every single step you showed took me multiple tries because you were either too quick flipping through settings, or the settings I put in somehow turned out differently than when you did it. Maybe a quick pause and explanation of what parameters I'm actually applying as I apply them, and give me a second to actually do it. I've had to hit pause on this video like 100 times already.... gahhh

    • @gunhackx2

      lol just pause the video and go back if needed.
