    Great video Ryuji. Thankyou for uploading. I am helping a friend with the same procedure tomorrow and as I also do not have a timing light your video is most helpful. 👍

    Wow you are the best real Japanese mechanic TH-camr! In other video, youtuber turns ignition key 8 times to get distributor into correct rotation/position, he uses just luck. You rotate crank manually to make sure it correct. A real pro!

      @@cannaroe1213 Hi! Before answering your questions, your car and the engine are the same as mine? (Nisssan K11, CG10) If they are, you are correct. You need to rotate and fix crankshaft at -15 degrees marking line lines up with a little "pin" on the engine, rotate the distributor, and fix it at the #1 cylinder spark plug sparks. However, there are 2 positions that the plug sparks depending on which way you turn the distributor. Turning clockwise is the correct way with my engine. (scene in this video was my mistaking take-1 video...) If you are confused when you adjust your distributor, choose closest position which the old distributor was fixed. What I did was just make the plug sparks and fingers crossed. If the car or the engine is different from mine, you need to follow the manuals of your car. (angles, marking lines, cylinder number and etc...) I hope my answer will help you and hope you succeed in replacing your distributor!

    great videos. where does the hose on the breather go? (that green hose)

      Thank you. The hose goes to the outside the car (I know it is bad for the environment...)

    Hi. Good DIY video. Can you tell me the internal o-ring size? Mine is leaking to the inside of the distributor cap and I wanted to know if I can get a new o-ring before removing the distributor. And by the way, could you fit the new distributor just making a position mark on the old one and replicate that mark on the new one?
    Thanks

      Thank you for your comment.
      I'm sorry, but I don't know the size of o-ring because I bought distributor as a rebuilt assembly. Replicate the position could work, but you need very precise work to do that because the sound of the engine will change if you turn the distributor only just a little bit. Good luck!

      @@ryujihazama Hi again. Just to clarify, you have put the crank pulley on 0 or 15 degrees? And then you just put the ignition on (engine not running) to see the spark on the spark plug, right? But then we see a spark in two different positions while you are rotating the distributor, at 5:54 and 6:01. Why did you choose the position at 6:01 instead of the position at 5:54? Thank you for your time.

    • @ryujihazama
      @ryujihazama  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Set the degrees first and then turn on the switch.
      I chose the position at 6:01 because inside the distributor, there is a rotating fin shape part that looks like fan wings and it has a long thin surface of the electrode. The timing of the spark gonna change depends on which direction you rotate the distributor because the spark happens when the one end of the electrode is close to the electrode on the distributor cap. However the engine is running only for one direction, so I turn the distributor toward the opposite direction (it is a positive direction for the inside) and set the timing.
      Thank you.

    I change ignition coil but i have no fire on the spark plug... Can you help me ???

    • @ryujihazama
      @ryujihazama  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Did you make touch the metal part of the spark plug onto the body of your car? Or possibly in the case of "coil", you need to start the engine to spark the plug because the computer sends the electricity to the coil depending on the revolution.
