    Great video! Anyone interested this is the same process for the 2021 430i. The only difference is you don't need to move the wiring harness to get the filter out. Just changed my oil a few days ago as I never wait for 10k miles to have my oil changed. I do it every 5k and have the dealership do it the next time while it is under maintenance plan. Just don't reset the oil light or they will not change the oil as the car must alert BMW to have it changed. Found this out the hard way. :)

      I wish I saw your post before I reset my oil light. I changed the oil at 1000 miles and then again at 5000. I figured I'd have them do it at 10,000. I guess I'll do it again at 10, 000 and they'll do it at 15,000.

      @@Freddels1 FYI...The dealership advised me the other day if it's been 12 months without an oil change at the dealership they will do it if you reset the light. My service advised advised me not to let them know you changed the oil and the reset was done by mistake.

    so what kind of torque does BMW recommend for both filter and screw?

  • @KK-yj5lj
    @KK-yj5lj ปีที่แล้ว

    New oil filter was installed in a wrong way. Because of this small nipple with oring on a bottom part of the filter You should first insert it to oil filter base, find the right position so that it will match the right slot and then screw the oil filter cap. Otherwise it is possible to squeeze the oil filter, or cruch this nipple and disturb filtration process.

      @@THEDriverMod_ Yes sir. 3 quick presses of the start-stop button, let the diagnostics screen pop up on display (where speedometer), then held the BC button for a long time and never got it to change. So, I tried again, timed myself holding the BC button for 2 minutes with no change, and then got my daughter to try. Neither one of us had any luck.

      @THEDrivenMod_ - I ended up taking the car to a German car specialist shop. The owner says BMW had the oil reset code locked, and the only way to reset it was with a computer. He had an Autel. I didn't get the model separate. but it was wireless with a unit plugged into the OBD2 port and the "screen" separate. Do you know if there is a way to break the code like jailbreaking cell phones?

      When you first start the car up, if it has alot of smoke at start up, then the oil level is too high and getting past the bottom side drain of the turbo, also if the oil level is high enough that under hard braking it moves to the forward part of the oil pan and actually hits the bottom of the crankshaft and slows it down causing the oil pressure light to come on. Too many variables.
