This one angered me the most. He kills your sister, shoots you out a window, kills your wife and kids (if you have any), and kills your dog! I was expecting a great fight and was fine letting him babble on and then Reaver fires one shot and kills him?! So much nerd rage. Stupid Fable... grumble grumble.

Brent Dreher I agree! Also, Hush from Arkham Knight. After the 'Identity Thief' side-mission ended on such an anticlimax in City and it seemed like Hush was being teased for the next game, it was lame that he went down with one blow in Knight.
Also sam rami had plans for either the 2 or 3rd movie with jack black playing a fat incompetent version of mysterio idk if it's an easter egg for the game or the game got the idea from the movie

I played this western style game a few years back were I was a law enforcer. Throughout the game I cought bandits, saved women tied to railways and climbed up the ranks. Towards the end of the game there was a commosion where me and the rest of the law force rode to a farm, a simple farm nothing to fancy, but the guy in there just killed every colleague of mine with one shot, he had this thing called "Dead-Eye". Anyway we cornered him in the barn, he got out and the music was intense, I was expecting a good duel...but then this John Marston guy just stands there takes every bullet to his chest, some to his legs. I mean he doesn't try to run away from the back or snipe us from the high ground, nothing. I can't quite remember the name of the game though...
Missed one of my favorites, Tony Hawks Underground! When playing through the game a second time after having already beaten it once, when it comes to the final mission rather than have an epic skate showdown to take back what was stolen from you it plays a cutscene where you walk up to the main antagonist, punch him straight in the face, grab the tape and walk away. Roll credits.
The Electrocutioner was definitely the easiest boss in the entire Batman: Arkham series. He didn't even try to fight Batman, all he did was just brag and boast about how he was gonna kill him and showed off his shock gloves, and Batman only took him out with just one slow-motion kick to the face. What a loser. No wonder he was the only assassin in the game to die by The Joker. But, you got to admit, the gloves really came in handy. Just wish Batman would've kept them, but like Cash said, I guess Batman prefers beating up punks the old fashioned way.

Adeleine/Ado from Kirby 64/Dream Land 3. After fighting her hand-painted horrors, she decides to ditch the canvas entirely and come at you herself with her paintbrush. You don't even need an ability to finish her off; just sliding into her or _breathing_ on her is enough to put her down. Hell, you don't even need to attack her (in 64, anyway)! Take even one sliver of damage from her brush, and the recoil from the attack knocks her offscreen anyway!
In Spider-Man 2 when I went to fight Misterio I was down to my last quarter of health and thought "oh thank god, I'm practically dead on my feet", then I got there and saw Misterio's health bar fill three times and thought "oh my god, I'm practically dead on my feet". Then he went down with one hit and after about a minute of silent shock I busted out laughing.

In The Simpson's videogame you only needed to punch Mr Burns once to beat him in the level _Medal of Homer_ . I was happy at the time but kind of feel bad now for beating up an elderly man.
At the end of Final Fantasy VII, you have a 1 on 1 showdown against Sephiroth. Many people know that Omnislash will finish him off once and for all, however, he has 1 HP! Meaning ANY Attack will kill him here! Further more, the game forces you to have a counter attack materia for the fight. So even if you stand around and let ol' One-Wing to attack you, Cloud will counter attack, finishing him off, even if you stopped touching the controller! Talk about a weak final boss!
Also in Final Fantasy VII, when you fight the boss Gi Nattak (found at Cosmo Canyon), since it’s undead, if you use a Phoenix Down on it it’ll kill it instantly. X-Potion, Elixer, and the spell Life also work, but I personally always used a Phoenix Down.

@@Feenucks Pretty much any undead monster, boss or not, in any of the FF games will have the same effect. Healing items or spells harm the undead. The more powerful the item, the most effective the damage. However, this kind of thing is not what this video was about. This video was about bosses who were taken down with a single hit as a matter of canon. The healing vs undead mechanic of the FF series is just a gameplay tactic. You can still fight these enemies the normal way and they tend to take way more than a single hit to kill. One of the things I always liked to do in FF6, for example, is the Vanish -> Doom trick on bosses... amazingly effective, especially against those otherwise tough dragon bosses. Ghost Train could be taken out with a single Fenix Down, but this was never eluded to as a matter of canon. As for the Sephiroth "battle" at the end of FF7, that's just a plot device, meant to show how powerful Cloud was at the conclusion of the game. There is absolutely no way to lose this battle without using a cheat device. The real final boss was Sephiroth's angelic form five minutes earlier. It might count in this list but I'm not sure. I guess if Bob the Fish made it here then so could this.

Yeah Pinwheel just got fucking wrecked. Especially by fire weapons/Pyromancy you just kinda... Tickled whatever-the-fuck-it-is and then it died. It was harder getting to Pinwheel than fighting it.

Lucien is the worst by far. If you don't take the shot for too long one of your companions will do it for you. You can literally win without hitting him at all.
Sorry, but Nakiyama of Borderlands 2's 3rd DLC take the cake. The mad scientist is trying to resurrect Handsom Jack via digital clone (he did actually succeed... sorta) and the Vault Hunters had to stop him. And after trashing his cyborg gorilla thing, he shows up in badguy fashion. Healthbar appears and he begins walking down the stairs into the arena..... He subsequently trips and tumbles down the stairs, each tumble causing damage to his BOSS lifebar. He's dead when he hits the floor. No one did anything to him. And he was a boss. And he died like that.
Exor Glitch in Super Mario RPG. The gimmick is that the main boss is immune from all harm until you beat any one of the other enemies on screen. Except when they remove his immunities, they also remove his immunity to Geno Whirl. Ever wanted to do 9999 to the not-actually-final boss? Now you can.
What about that time in skyrim when you confront the emperor at the end of the dark brotherhood questline? After seeing almost all your brothers die and your sanctuary burn you finally sneak on board of his ship for the important target ever. And what does the emperor do? having his royal battle mages in shining armor guard him? wearing some impressive armor and weapons made by the finest blacksmith on the continent? well you will be disappointed to hear that he expected you and accepted his fate without putting up a fight, he does ask you to kill the guy who gave you the contract which is a pluspoint.
He takes two hits, if we're counting...And, as a kid who was so intimidated by a boss who literally runs at full-tilt from the player character that I quit the game and didn't finish it till years later, I was definitely counting. Suffice it to say, the fight didn't pan out the way I fantasized it would (what with multiple phases of platforming and unbeatable attack patterns).
Nakamara of BL2, so much build up including killing his Boss monster just before the showdown. And he dies falling down stairs. And he had a fucking Boss Health Bar. I cringed so bad.
It's been a while since I played it, but I think Wang, the leader of the Shai-Gen in Crackdown 1 (and most likely the last boss you will face in the game) has a pretty small health pool and can easily be taken down by a single roundhouse kick from the hulking slab of meat the narrator calls "Agent."
Not a boss proper, but the Hunters in Halo: CE. They look absolutely terrifying AND the music changes when they drop in first time...until you found out they’re deathly allergic to the pistol.
The Master in Fallout: say something he doesn't like and he'll commit suicide, no fighting required. (Just remember not to hang around afterwards or he gets a kill from the grave medal).
Sans The Skele You could argue that Undyne and Asgore are exceptions because they don’t die in one hit on a neutral or pacifist run; however, you could also argue that they both die in one hit on a genocide run (even though Undyne becomes Undyne the Undying).
He was though, in the actual game released in japan. The west got a Mario reskin of the japanese Doki Doki Panic. We later got the real Super Mario Bros 2 as Super ario Bros The Lost Levels.
Regarding Lucien in Fable 2, I would like to point out that he was an ordinary human. It's been several years since I last played the game, but I believe that alone is what made him the villain. He essentially tried to become something greater for personal gain. Honestly, he was sort of an old man when you face him for the final time in the game too.
How about top 7 characters in non Parkour games who definetely do Parkour? Feat. The Limbo kid, Lara Croft, Nathan Drake, Kratos+BOY and the like? Also, Ellen, you ROCK!
How about any of the bosses that you guys face in the DnD OXventures? I swear you guys (Except that beetle, which the only threat was really killing Ellen,) have never actually fought a battle.
Alduin. Granted I was a level 90 Dual Wielding Warrior with the Mace of Molag Bal in one hand and Dragonbane in the other but that's not important. World-Eater...don't make me laugh, more like...Single-Blow-Eater....really rolls off the tongue.
Indeed, very anticlimactic battle. They should've accounted for all the side activities one can do in their game and scale him up with the player's level.
I was level twenty-something with no more than elven sword and firebolt and he went down in a handful of hits. It was sad, though I still love the game
I once read a story of someone's last playthrough of Morrowind before Skyrim came out. They gathered ingredients for a few hours, made potions of intelligence and drank them to make stronger potions of intelligence, repeated that a few thousand times, then finally made two brews of the most overpowered potion of strength ever. They went to the fight with Dagoth Ur and annihialated both the boss and the brand new dwarven warhammer they used in one swing. Then they proceeded to the final area where Dagoth is supposed to be invincible, and hit him so hard with Sunder that the game corrupted and the computer crashed.
"but that's not important." Considering you were about.. uh.. seventy-five levels too high for the fight, then.. yeah. I'd say it matters a bunch. Go fight Karstaag. Have fun with that.
How about The Prophet of Regret in Halo 2? Depending on the difficulty, all you gotta do is jump on his power-chair and punch him in the face and you're done! Depends tho, not sure if it counts as 1 hit, and on higher difficulties, he will somehow throw you off and you gotta do it again 2-3 more times.
MASSIVE pain, so I wouldn't count it. And it's complicated by the fact that BoC needs you to kill three one-hit-kills to clear the boss, so not sure whether it qualifies, or whether it should count 3x.
Deadshot - Batman Arkham City: All you had to do was hide underneath a grate, wait for him to walk over and then take him down. So much for world's greatest assassin GI Nattak - Final Fantasy VII: A potentially annoying boss is over in one shot if you picked up the 'x-potion' in Gongaga village right before reaching Cosmo Canyon and throw that at him for 5500 hit points of 'Holy' damage GeroGero - Final Fantasy VIII: Same as above except use a 'phoenix down' Also in 'Silent Hill' if you reach the final boss and have no ammo they each kill themselves.. So dead in no hits, even lamer!
They did that in Silent Hill because you can't hit it with melee weapons so without ammo, it'd make the game uncompletable. They probably realized this late in development I think, and put in the auto-suicide as a hidden quick fix.
Y’all missed handsome jack. In the end, sure he summoned an entire beast to fight for him and after an hour of using up all your bullets all it takes is one punch to actually kill the man himself.
Ummmm yeah, that was just something else. I mean he was technically a boss but he just.... just died. On stairs. Falling. Guess CL4T-P's issues with stairs are far more justified
Oh I remember that Hulk game. I had it as a kid. I accidentally discovered a glitch in one of the areas that you could exploit to make yourself invulnerable. It's been a long time so I don't remember all the details but there was an area with pistons that would come down from the ceiling to crush you and you had to crawl through without getting squashed. If you crawled through as Banner and one of the pistons caught just like a toe, he'd turn into the hulk and be completely invincible.
The "fight" against the combined might of the Dormouse and the March Hare in "Alice: Madness Returns". They don't even make it out of their introductory cut scene.
I know it was mocked when it was made, but the boss fights in madness returns were a good case of story telling through game mechanics. The point of the game was something foreign had invaded and corrupted wonderland and Alice had to figure out what it was. Each level ended with a monstrous corrupted wonderland being, but each of those beings was inherently from wonderland, so you don't fight them. When you finally get to the last level, you come to the external source of corruption and you start a boss battle to destroy it. I remember critics complaining that it was a weird change in pace to skip all previous boss battles with cut scenes, then actually have to fight the final boss, but it worked for the story.
Kellogg from Fallout 4. If you actually explored the entire Fort Strong, you'd find a Fat Man in the Armoury. Hit him head-on and he dies, so you just have to mop up the synths. Or just shoot him if the Fat Man didn't deal enough damage.
What about General Scales from Star-Fox Adventures? You spend the entire game almost catching him, after watching him wreak havock upon Dinosaur Planet. And then, at the end of the game, when you finally corner him and are set to have an epic showdown with your staff, probably using every ability in your arsenal, you try to strike him once and then... Well, let's not spoil it here.
Hello? Like, ALL of the Undertale Genocide path. Toriel, Papyrus, Mettaton Neo, even Sans himself are all killed by a single blow. Even Undyne gets almost killed by your first strike. Not to say that any of these bosses are weak, but you just come along and BOOM. One and done.
Picture this: You're playing Undertale's Genocide Mode. You somehow endured Undyne the Undying, and are ready to fight Mettaton. He reveals a badass brand-new form called Mettaton NEO, who was specifically designed to kill humans. The boss music plays and you're ready for another hardcore challenge. So you kill him in one hit.
@@lizzytrip4560 I'd argue that it's less "anti-climactic" and more of an interesting case of story and gameplay integration. It's precisely because of how murderous you are on a Genocide run that you do so much damage. In-game text reveals that humans with killing intent can do fatal harm to monsters easily, while those who don't want to hurt monsters don't inflict much damage. That's also why you do more damage the lower their HP bar gets: you're _intending_ to hurt them, since you're consistently attacking. Also, the bosses react to you according to their personalities, like Papyrus refusing to fight and offering a hug instead, because he thinks anyone could be a good person if they tried, and Undyne doing her absolute best to stop you, even holding off death from a fatal blow out of sheer determination to save not only all monsterkind, but the whole world. Mettaton NEO follows the same rule: He knows going in that he can't actually fight you with any chance of winning, so instead he does his best to intimidate you, all while stalling for time while Alphys and other survivors evacuate New Home. He's a weaksauce boss because he's deliberately self-sacrificing himself.
The Summoner in Diablo II at near the end of the second act had some really hard-hitting spells that would annihilate your health if you were unfortunate enough to be hit by one. However, The Summoner is practically the embodiment of a glass cannon because it only takes a couple of hits to actually kill him, even if you're soloing on /players8.
Also with the sniper rifle, from behind if they didn't know you were there or from in front after smacking them in the face if they did, which was more satisfying.
Earthworm Jim is weird. I bought the soundtrack on vinyl (yep vinyl, one is printed on snot and the other on skin) and the first track is all about depression and substance abuse? I was expecting something strange but man...
I remember playing Spider Man 2 years ago, I was scared @h*tless when I saw Mysterio in the convenience store. I had no idea what to expect from him. I had to hype myself up for a week before I got the nerve to face him. When I did, and realized he was a complete joke, I damn near threw my controller at the tv. I looked for the nearest goons to take out my frustration on.
To be fair for Mysterio he is physically week and usually fights with his illusions because usually every time he faces Spider Man he is taken down in one hit.
In the Skylanders series, there is a boss fight where an elderly Cyclops named Pipsqueak throws you into an arena full of soldiers, giant naked mole rats that puke acid, and meat grinders that pop out of the floor. At the end of the fight, he tries to duel you, and his back gives out after one hit. (Granted he proceeds to sick a possessed suit of armor at you with the ability to deal over half your hp in one hit.)

In Spider-Man 2 when I went to fight Misterio I was down to my last quarter of health and thought "oh thank god, I'm practically dead on my feet", then I got there and saw Misterio's health bar fill three times and thought "oh my god, I'm practically dead on my feet". Then he went down with one hit and after about a minute of silent shock I busted out laughing.

At the end of Final Fantasy VII, you have a 1 on 1 showdown against Sephiroth. Many people know that Omnislash will finish him off once and for all, however, he has 1 HP! Meaning ANY Attack will kill him here!
Further more, the game forces you to have a counter attack materia for the fight. So even if you stand around and let ol' One-Wing to attack you, Cloud will counter attack, finishing him off, even if you stopped touching the controller! Talk about a weak final boss!
Was expecting to see that somewhere here. Fun fact: Sephiroth with deal 31/32 of Cloud's HP in damage.
Also in Final Fantasy VII, when you fight the boss Gi Nattak (found at Cosmo Canyon), since it’s undead, if you use a Phoenix Down on it it’ll kill it instantly.
X-Potion, Elixer, and the spell Life also work, but I personally always used a Phoenix Down.

@@Feenucks Pretty much any undead monster, boss or not, in any of the FF games will have the same effect. Healing items or spells harm the undead. The more powerful the item, the most effective the damage. However, this kind of thing is not what this video was about. This video was about bosses who were taken down with a single hit as a matter of canon. The healing vs undead mechanic of the FF series is just a gameplay tactic. You can still fight these enemies the normal way and they tend to take way more than a single hit to kill. One of the things I always liked to do in FF6, for example, is the Vanish -> Doom trick on bosses... amazingly effective, especially against those otherwise tough dragon bosses. Ghost Train could be taken out with a single Fenix Down, but this was never eluded to as a matter of canon. As for the Sephiroth "battle" at the end of FF7, that's just a plot device, meant to show how powerful Cloud was at the conclusion of the game. There is absolutely no way to lose this battle without using a cheat device. The real final boss was Sephiroth's angelic form five minutes earlier. It might count in this list but I'm not sure. I guess if Bob the Fish made it here then so could this.

Sorry, but Nakiyama of Borderlands 2's 3rd DLC take the cake. The mad scientist is trying to resurrect Handsom Jack via digital clone (he did actually succeed... sorta) and the Vault Hunters had to stop him. And after trashing his cyborg gorilla thing, he shows up in badguy fashion. Healthbar appears and he begins walking down the stairs into the arena.....
He subsequently trips and tumbles down the stairs, each tumble causing damage to his BOSS lifebar. He's dead when he hits the floor.
No one did anything to him. And he was a boss. And he died like that.
Exor Glitch in Super Mario RPG. The gimmick is that the main boss is immune from all harm until you beat any one of the other enemies on screen. Except when they remove his immunities, they also remove his immunity to Geno Whirl. Ever wanted to do 9999 to the not-actually-final boss? Now you can.

After seeing almost all your brothers die and your sanctuary burn you finally sneak on board of his ship for the important target ever. And what does the emperor do? having his royal battle mages in shining armor guard him? wearing some impressive armor and weapons made by the finest blacksmith on the continent? well you will be disappointed to hear that he expected you and accepted his fate without putting up a fight, he does ask you to kill the guy who gave you the contract which is a pluspoint.

Suffice it to say, the fight didn't pan out the way I fantasized it would (what with multiple phases of platforming and unbeatable attack patterns).
The yeti from Spyro 2 also came to mind, but I guess he doesn't count either, seeing as he's more of a not-boss that took approximately no hits.

It's been a while since I played it, but I think Wang, the leader of the Shai-Gen in Crackdown 1 (and most likely the last boss you will face in the game) has a pretty small health pool and can easily be taken down by a single roundhouse kick from the hulking slab of meat the narrator calls "Agent."
Not a boss proper, but the Hunters in Halo: CE. They look absolutely terrifying AND the music changes when they drop in first time...until you found out they’re deathly allergic to the pistol.
To be fair, everything was deathly allergic to the pistol in that game.
The Master in Fallout: say something he doesn't like and he'll commit suicide, no fighting required. (Just remember not to hang around afterwards or he gets a kill from the grave medal).

Regarding Lucien in Fable 2, I would like to point out that he was an ordinary human. It's been several years since I last played the game, but I believe that alone is what made him the villain. He essentially tried to become something greater for personal gain. Honestly, he was sort of an old man when you face him for the final time in the game too.

I once read a story of someone's last playthrough of Morrowind before Skyrim came out. They gathered ingredients for a few hours, made potions of intelligence and drank them to make stronger potions of intelligence, repeated that a few thousand times, then finally made two brews of the most overpowered potion of strength ever. They went to the fight with Dagoth Ur and annihialated both the boss and the brand new dwarven warhammer they used in one swing. Then they proceeded to the final area where Dagoth is supposed to be invincible, and hit him so hard with Sunder that the game corrupted and the computer crashed.

MASSIVE pain, so I wouldn't count it. And it's complicated by the fact that BoC needs you to kill three one-hit-kills to clear the boss, so not sure whether it qualifies, or whether it should count 3x.

Deadshot - Batman Arkham City: All you had to do was hide underneath a grate, wait for him to walk over and then take him down. So much for world's greatest assassin
GI Nattak - Final Fantasy VII: A potentially annoying boss is over in one shot if you picked up the 'x-potion' in Gongaga village right before reaching Cosmo Canyon and throw that at him for 5500 hit points of 'Holy' damage
GeroGero - Final Fantasy VIII: Same as above except use a 'phoenix down'
Also in 'Silent Hill' if you reach the final boss and have no ammo they each kill themselves.. So dead in no hits, even lamer!
They did that in Silent Hill because you can't hit it with melee weapons so without ammo, it'd make the game uncompletable. They probably realized this late in development I think, and put in the auto-suicide as a hidden quick fix.
You should be grateful about the boss in Silent Hills! He died so we could live!

Oh I remember that Hulk game. I had it as a kid. I accidentally discovered a glitch in one of the areas that you could exploit to make yourself invulnerable. It's been a long time so I don't remember all the details but there was an area with pistons that would come down from the ceiling to crush you and you had to crawl through without getting squashed. If you crawled through as Banner and one of the pistons caught just like a toe, he'd turn into the hulk and be completely invincible.
That 007 one is indeed a biting criticism of reality, and the crows eating corpses is a nice touch.

The "fight" against the combined might of the Dormouse and the March Hare in "Alice: Madness Returns". They don't even make it out of their introductory cut scene.
I know it was mocked when it was made, but the boss fights in madness returns were a good case of story telling through game mechanics. The point of the game was something foreign had invaded and corrupted wonderland and Alice had to figure out what it was. Each level ended with a monstrous corrupted wonderland being, but each of those beings was inherently from wonderland, so you don't fight them. When you finally get to the last level, you come to the external source of corruption and you start a boss battle to destroy it. I remember critics complaining that it was a weird change in pace to skip all previous boss battles with cut scenes, then actually have to fight the final boss, but it worked for the story.

What about General Scales from Star-Fox Adventures? You spend the entire game almost catching him, after watching him wreak havock upon Dinosaur Planet. And then, at the end of the game, when you finally corner him and are set to have an epic showdown with your staff, probably using every ability in your arsenal, you try to strike him once and then... Well, let's not spoil it here.

Hello? Like, ALL of the Undertale Genocide path. Toriel, Papyrus, Mettaton Neo, even Sans himself are all killed by a single blow. Even Undyne gets almost killed by your first strike. Not to say that any of these bosses are weak, but you just come along and BOOM. One and done.

Picture this: You're playing Undertale's Genocide Mode. You somehow endured Undyne the Undying, and are ready to fight Mettaton. He reveals a badass brand-new form called Mettaton NEO, who was specifically designed to kill humans. The boss music plays and you're ready for another hardcore challenge. So you kill him in one hit.
You mean like you did to pap, tori, muffet, mad dummy, etc. Hmm its almost like that wholr route is anti climatic
@@lizzytrip4560 I'd argue that it's less "anti-climactic" and more of an interesting case of story and gameplay integration. It's precisely because of how murderous you are on a Genocide run that you do so much damage. In-game text reveals that humans with killing intent can do fatal harm to monsters easily, while those who don't want to hurt monsters don't inflict much damage. That's also why you do more damage the lower their HP bar gets: you're _intending_ to hurt them, since you're consistently attacking.
Also, the bosses react to you according to their personalities, like Papyrus refusing to fight and offering a hug instead, because he thinks anyone could be a good person if they tried, and Undyne doing her absolute best to stop you, even holding off death from a fatal blow out of sheer determination to save not only all monsterkind, but the whole world.
Mettaton NEO follows the same rule: He knows going in that he can't actually fight you with any chance of winning, so instead he does his best to intimidate you, all while stalling for time while Alphys and other survivors evacuate New Home. He's a weaksauce boss because he's deliberately self-sacrificing himself.

The Summoner in Diablo II at near the end of the second act had some really hard-hitting spells that would annihilate your health if you were unfortunate enough to be hit by one. However, The Summoner is practically the embodiment of a glass cannon because it only takes a couple of hits to actually kill him, even if you're soloing on /players8.

I had no idea what to expect from him. I had to hype myself up for a week before I got the nerve to face him.
When I did, and realized he was a complete joke, I damn near threw my controller at the tv. I looked for the nearest goons to take out my frustration on.
To be fair for Mysterio he is physically week and usually fights with his illusions because usually every time he faces Spider Man he is taken down in one hit.

In the Skylanders series, there is a boss fight where an elderly Cyclops named Pipsqueak throws you into an arena full of soldiers, giant naked mole rats that puke acid, and meat grinders that pop out of the floor. At the end of the fight, he tries to duel you, and his back gives out after one hit.
