I just got one, we love it! I searched and came down to the Sentra, Elantra, and the Jetta as the final 3. Went with the Jetta and wouldn't look back. Love it

Just a note to Canadian buyers : The Sport trim is far better equipped in Canada than the Sport trim in the United States. Don't rely on their information.. I almost wrote the car off but in Canada if you want a manual you can get faux leather, the sunroof, the large infotainment and full sized dash screens, metal pedals, etc. Totally different car.

I bought one a month ago. It’s exactly the same color and interior 2024 VW Jetta SEL. It’s an amazing car and gas saver as well. I’m very happy with my purchase

Coming from an SEL owner, spend the extra couple thousand dollars and upgrade to the SEL. Getting the beats audio, SEL exclusive dash, backseat heating, its all worth it for a couple thousand dollars. For some it might not be ideal to spend the extra couple thousand but still the regular SE Jetta or jetta sport are still amazing cars

Omg, I thought exactly the same thing, write down to the haircut! Good review, though. One concern is the active cylinder management system. They tend to be engine killers no matter which car company employs it.

BEAUTIFUL VW SEDAN~ I AM PRESENTLY IN A ‘2023 VW TAOS SE, and like it alot. If I chose to go in a sedan- it would be this JETTA.
    NICE REVIEW.

my number one runner up was the 2023 VW Taos SE but i opted for the SEL level features at UNDER $30K in the end.

Was there a 2.5 inline 5 diesel ... I never knew that ... I am from Canada ... I got a used 2.5 gas but worst part is ..it just has 5 speed manual ....
In Asia Pacific we use to have 2.0 TDI with sound insulation glass, dual zone climate.contril ....fully equipped version ....

You rated the brakes 4/5 but I did not hear a comment about the brakes. Can you share why they were 4/5. I had a 2017 and 2019 Beetle and felt the brakes were mushy and did not stop the car as fast as a Civic for example. Love the Beetle but I learned to give it a lot of extra room from the car in front of me. Great review and thanks for the video.

Buy the VW in-spite of the lackluster power plant. They’re great vehicles. I’ve owned six and only had a chaffed wiring harness between door and dash.

Great little car for the money. Better with a manual. Especially in Canada. The sport trim is perfect with a stick. You get all the upgraded tech, headlights, suspension and nicer wheels but you can still have it with the stick

  • @ronmccord44

These actually look really good and have just about every option you can get in SEL trim which looks really good in Person! Lacking Parking sensors or 360 option which 2024 Elantra has and Civic has. I like the looks better than Gti S model but for 2 or 3k more you get parking sensors and just a way better vehicle if you can go with a hatch smaller car design..... in the Under 32k price range these 2 VW models are top of my list..... Civic Touring would also be under Consideration again with the Parking sensors which I like. Elantra has all the Tech but I am not a full on fan of the look

Thanks for VW and please do a GLI and GTI. The problem for VW is VW. Millions of Americans (like myself) will tell you their favorite all time car was their VW bug. Mine was72 SuperBettle. I wanted to but the new beetle when it came out but VW put weird engines in them and never the current engine from the Golf and then priced them far above the Golf. I wanted to buy a GTI but most dealers outside of VA priced them ridiculous and wouldnt deal and then late in model year slashed the prices. VW has very poor resale value and pricing up these cars is totally stupid. Where is a VW dealer in AZ who will deal in order to move volume...can't find one, even in normal times. VW could have had a winner in the Passat but styling was too bland to start with and again stupid engines and dropped the 6 cyl. They built a USA factory but then made a car Americans wouldnt buy. Now all you see are VW suv's. I love the German austere instrumentation and also agree on the stupid start/stop. The GTI is the best looking hot hatch ever and VW has missed out on USA sales by not better understanding and adapting and thinking they can price them like Audi's or Porsche's. Sorry for rant.

A car we almost forgot about. Still a good roomy value, if only they had a sport setting to tweak the alignment, suspension, and engine response, GLI-junior executive.

Benefits of this generation Jetta that most reviewers won't touch ....
You get this obnoxious design and a grade or two lower quality interiors
You get a mighty torsion beam rear suspension...
Lastly ... Ultra sporty front end heavy front wheel drive even supposedly sporty gli can't stand with. 1.5 civic. Lol
