    One length irons make complete sense for new beginners, one stance to learn.

      @otherone1234 ปีที่แล้ว

      nope not at all. I am a beginner and cant hit them. Probably from say 5-7 irons (one length 4 hybrid) could be ok one length but for 8-GW is totally unnecessary and awkward. Everybody can hit short irons, and if you make them longer it is just harder to hit them, and to pace the distance. Bryson is a professional he could hit a rock on a stick, but for average golfer not a good idea to lengthen scoring irons.

      I got one length irons… and ordered them all to be 9 iron length. 😂 best thing I ever did. I’m not a pro and never will be but my consistency with all clubs is a lot better now. And before I could never hit my 5,6 or 7 irons at all really.

    I am a relatively new golfer and this makes so much sense! Brycen explains it well enough for a lay person to understand. Last set I bought knowing nothing and lucked out with Cobra. Getting fitted now for Cobra one length irons.

    Congratulation on the 2024 US Open win. That was amazing. Gonna try some Cobra's and see if it helps my 52 year old ass... Congrats Bryson... thanks Golf Galaxy...

    As a beginner, I can confirm that this approach can be very helpful! I would not want to go back.
    For tricky occasions in the short game pitches, I sometimes grap a bit shorter.

    Switched out to a new set of cobra forge Tec single length irons a month back and enjoying the fact I now consistently strike my irons. Still need to hit the range and practice over the winter but I'm already shaving strokes of my game

    One length irons make complete sense for those who consider biomechanics and physics. They are not just for beginners. I'm having a set of Wishon EQ1-NX single length made for me.

  • @ikigai47
    @ikigai47 2 ปีที่แล้ว +8

    My ideal set is one length "long" irons to 7, then have the rest traditional lengths with appropriate lofts to compensate for the shaft length differences where gapping is concerned. Hitting 7i length wedges from the bunker for instance isn't easy (unless it's a fairway bunker), and most people don't struggle with the length of short irons, just the long irons

      Weirdly it’s kinda reverse I hit my one length wedges more accurately than my 4-5
      And you get more height and spin
      And for bunkers and taking lil off I choke up to original wedge length takes month but you get really use to it

      Is it like he said with the distance gaps? Do you feel like you still hit every iron the same length as variable length irons?

    • @michaeldlindeman9600
      @michaeldlindeman9600 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@movieguy992 I feel like I get more distance with them. But I am also comparing 25 year old irons to new irons. I would recommend going and testing some. I know my irons strike the ball more consistently now.

    • @otherone1234
      @otherone1234 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@michaeldlindeman9600 scoring irons from 8-pw should not be lengthened imo. the long ones yes, makes sense. I actually play a one length 4 hybrid and i really like it. It is so versatile, but it takes a bit to get used to it. In One length iron you are making the long irons easier to hit, but then where it matters most (scoring irons 8-GW) you are making them harder to hit and to distance them right. Now if you are scratch player I'm sure you'll be fine one length or any length, but for most golfers not a good idea imo to lengthen scoring irons.

    I am just about to invest in SL irons. If a stock 7iron is 37inch but for me it would be 36.5inch (due to height and WtF measurement). Is it crazy to want it 36 for an 8iron and hit everything centre of stance?

      Try looking for something like a set of used in1zone one length irons. I'm extremely curious about the feel of them and found a set for $100. If I don't like the feel then it's only $100 so if I have trouble reselling them it's not a big deal. If I do like the feel, a $350 used set of Cobra one lengths is alot easier to justify

    Bryson.....how complicated is it to alter my lofts on the one length cobra forged tec 2020 model.....the reason i ask is, my 4 iron is 19deg would it be possible to crank my 4 iron 2deg weaker and so on to my 6 iron.....the deg difference from 6-7 iron is 3.5 deg and 5 deg between 9-pw i presume if this is not done correctly this would fluff my gappings in yards.....😮😂

    i think if u had the option fir every club manufacturer to make them like that i would be so happy, like i would pay $500 for one length irons cause its so nice and ur swing can be the exact same like if taylormade and titleist and they would have the option to choose one length option for a specific price

      Cutting the shafts isn’t the same as buying one length irons. The heads on the longer irons will be too light.

    • @DomMorelli
      @DomMorelli 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@joeprior7311 you’re correct, but they can add weight and balance the heads too though!

    • @JosephofAramathea-A.D.46
      @JosephofAramathea-A.D.46 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DomMorelli it's more complicated than that. You would need to remove material (weight) from your short irons to offset the increased swingweight of the now longer shafts. You would also need to deaden your short iron faces to offset the increased club head speed from the now longer shafts to maintain an appropriate distance gapping. One length club heads are built differently than standard club heads.

    • @I_Luv_Ma_Squad
      @I_Luv_Ma_Squad 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Like he said, you have to factor in the loft and mass properties. You can find 20+ yds difference between PWs just comparing a distance iron to players iron. There are so many variables that factor in. 1.25 inches in shaft length is not going to add 20 yards to a PW if all variables are the same, there’s more to it than that.

    All well and good, but his woods aren't the same length, so the argument falls down immediately. Even more important, the second you go out onto the course, unless your lie is absolutely perfectly flat, every single time then you will, by definition, have to alter your swing.
    It works for him, but he fails to realise why: he has an idea so, in order to test it, he hits thousands and thousands of shots. In fact he hits more shots on the range than anyone.
    The reality, therefore, is that the practice makes perfect. Who'd have thought???

    I’ll never go back. They had big signs on pants and shirts 50% off. I picked $90 pair of pants expecting to pay $45. They rang up $100. I ask and he said i had to read the fine print on the sign. I said I dont want them, and paid for other items. No other customers in line so I ask if he could walk over there and show me which ones were 50%. His reply ” well actually none of them are”. I ask for the manmanager, his reply ” there’s no one here I can even ask, It’s just what they do to get people to look at the clothes”
