VW Passat CC 2010 EPB reset. Parking brake error see owner's manual.

- Warning message and the yellow light are constantly on any time the parking brake is activated. Bought a new switch from the dealer for $130 no difference. Also tried one from Aliexspress for only $4 with the same result. Attempted PBS reset but it also didn't help. At this point, I realised that there are only two more steps left: PB module software upgrade and if this will not help then module replacement.
I ended up replacing the module at a local mechanic. Replaced with a second-hand one to save some $. Total: $980 including labour.

Driver side fuse box remove fuse 29 and 30. Beeping and error message stopped.

im gonna try, just got back from my mechanic with this problem, its beeping non stop when i drive

Unfortunately it's very hard to replace. it requires reprogramming the module so not every workshop will do it.
thanks for your response. I can find how to code and programe in Ross Tech by using VCDS. But I do not know how to replace this hardware module. no video demo could be found in TH-cam. In fact, not much technician in Hong Kong know how to replace and do the coding. Anyway thanks for your help.

I have the same problem, but on my car (P) is blinking. I don't know what is a problem. Everything worka perfect, but why is blinking P? I have 2012 cc, with different epb knob.

There should be a troubleshooting section in your car manual. See what that would mean there.
It can be some error that is fixed by resetting the system and removing the error log.

In this case, you may have a problem with your PB module. I would suggest you running the car as is while find a mechanic who can fix this. Consider buying this module from e-bay or amazon. Otherwise, it can be very expensive to fix.

I tried this method and after that my car won't start and it shows msg on screen depress the clutch . Any idea what's gone wrong even mechanic can't do any thing I asked him to change the clutch sensor and he might will tomorrow change it .
This method resets your car settings to factory. I don't think it may have caused any problem to your car. However, if you accidentally connected your battery the wrong way you will need to look for a dead fuse.
@@alecovchinnikov8724 battery is 100% right way because I have not actually taken the battery out , and all other things work fine like radio lights , horn etc but won't start says depress the clutch , tried my best could not start it. Any idea if clutch has any fuse? I can't find any in hand book

El mío es Passat 2007 y anda esa p en el tablero ya le puse frenos nuevos
hola, en mi caso es solo el botón del interruptor, comprarlo en Aliexspress, ahi detalla el modelo y año de tu VW....suerte.
