Spyderco doesn't void warranty for taking apart anymore.
Someone needs to inform Knife Joy of that.
@@bladesandedc only if it's been scratched stripped ect. For real smwk took mine and told me they updated policy I had a bad burr on pivot of a pm2 couldn't get it back together lol
The warranties would coexist. Your manufacturer warranty might not be gone from taking it apart but Knifejoy's might be.
My Maxamet para 3 has detent lash when closed they wouldn’t fix it bc I took it apart to see what was causing it. $283 for a knife that feels wonky. But that’s the only Spyderco that ever had problems out of the 13 I have so I’ll continue to buy Spyderco!
Id like to get one of those bit kits you got in the tin. Where can I get one? Id like to get the whole kit. The bits, driver, bit holder, and tin if you have a link for them it would be awesome. Thanks

i got my Manix AWT scales yesterday. They are a game changer for sure...
Haven’t watched the whole video but your not supposed to run that liner around the pivot pin. From their website “The precision milled 6061-T6 aluminum adds strength and was designed to eliminate the single steel mini-liner and run on TWO washers”. Disregard if you figured it out in the video. Haha

So what was wrong with the original one you ordered? Screws stripped?
Yea the pocket clip screw would just spin freely because the sleeve that should be captive was only held by the plastic. The screw was so tight that while trying to break it free it deformed the scale where the sleeve goes in.

I'm happy for you that Knifejoy replaced the knife. But I do think you got lucky that they did at all. Love the video and learning with you at the same time. Thanks for the info on the other pivot popper too. Not a huge fan of the purple and green color combos. Always reminds me of the Joker from Batman with those color combos.

So these scales on my para lw are a problem. The stop pin screws are now in control of action. I have to adjust the action from there. 🙄

Pretty huge upgrade for a LW version as always like your builds tho not my color but still, a purple clip would be nice with the screws
i got a para 3 lw today and i don't love it like i thought i would tbh...i had already planned on getting awt scales like i did for my manix bc they are just amazing...do you think they changed the para 3 lw as much as they did on the manix? Like, my g10 manix was say a 6/10 when i got it, and with the awt scales, it's easily 10/10 for me...Para 3 lw for me right now is like a 2/10...i'm wondering if i should try the awt scales or just trade/sell it...
IMO i think the AWT scales make the Para 3 LW a 8 out of 10. They completely transform thje knife and make it feel much more premium in hand and also properly centers the blade.
I feel the same way. I don't see ANY reason this knife should've been released at all. It's the only Spyderco I ever bought that I returned the same day.

Do you add sharpening choils to your user Spydercos? Now that I know how helpful they are... not having one hurts me now... But either way, super gratifying to see it come together!
I don't add them to my spyderco knives. I have no issues sharpening them as they are. I use the plunge as a starting point on the stone and go from there.

I've never seen a dissasembled para 3 before. & i hate to say it... but i dont know if i like it anymore. I always thought there was at least one full liner under the scale. But seeing that its a tiny lil bar, & less metal than a benchmade out series... it just has lost all apeal & semblance of toughness. I understand that its not flimsy by any means, & custom scales can be tough... it just gets my ocd about sturdyness. If it had partial liners like a benchmade, i'd like it alot better
That is the lightweight version. The G10 version has liners.

This was a Para 3 lightweight which is very different from a para 3. I have a couple videos showing a Para 3 disassemblbly and the Para 3 has 2 full sized liners.
You're totally right in thinking that way, the knife is a joke that they never should've released. I mean, if the Delica and Endura can have full liners, why wouldn't you do the same on a supposedly military inspired knife? Waste of money and in my opinion, it's the shittest of the horse-shit Spyderco designs...
