Another thing that I saw on tiktok and miraculously worked for me: scotch tape over the scanning sensor! Even with my lights off, the lid closed, and no other light nearby, if I ever used laminate or anything (even if I cut down and kept it inside the bounding margins) my cuts would ALWAYS ALWAYS be way off. Just sticking a small piece of tape right underneath the sensor so far has given me the most accurate and pain free calibration experience. I've also noticed the Explore line seems to have more calibration issues vs the Maker. Thank you for the video!
Great video. it was very helpful. I also have problems with the print then cut feature cutting my stickers out of alignment even after I have calibrated my machine. Sometimes it will cut correctly after I've calibrated it but the next day the calibration will be off again. I've even had Cricut support go through the calibration with me. According to Cricut support you have to make sure you don't have a lot of bright light around your Cricut machine because it can make it harder for the sensor to read the registration marks. I found that by lowering the lighting in the room it does help a little but it's definitely a software glitch and Cricut needs to fix it.
Great video, great job. My Cricut Maker was also having calibration issues - sometimes it would work well and then the next time the cut would be way off. After many attempts to calibrate both Cricut Maker and printer and after watching numerous videos, I learned that the lighting near the Cricut could affect the cut. My craft room is bright and I also have an overhead light near the machine . If I close the shutters and turn off the overhead light, I get an incredibly good cut. I’m assuming/guessing the natural light and overhead light bounce off the black registration marks making them obscure. On a very sunny day I’ll even go as far as to lay a large piece of poster board on top of the Cricut when it’s cutting. Hope this helps a bit. Keep up the good work.
It helped me. I remember a lady at a craft store talking to her another customer. She happened to be a cricut customer service agent. Lol I was hanging on to every word she said. She specifically said that of all calibrations attempts have failed, to focus on lighting. She said do not have daylight bulbs in area of the machine. It's greys out the black lines. And to be sure you aren't low on ink. Also, cheap printers are a problem as well. She said to stick with hp or Canon or possible and it needs to be one that is not under 100 bucks
Hi Corinne, you saved my evening. I was so frustrated as I flattened every single image and it always ejected my mat. Also I struggled so much with not cutting the layer around but each single letter of the words 😞. Select all and flatten only once was the key!!! thanks so much! Best regards from Germany, Cathleen
This is by far the best tutorial for design space I’ve seen. I’ve been struggling with this software app and now I’m seeing a light at the end of a very long tunnel. Thanks so much!
I'm new I would like to thank you for how you click on your cricut buttons on the canvas, you were the first teacher that I could actually see what I needed to click on my canvas.
Even though I’ve had my Cricut for a few years I always watch your videos for tips and tricks and I always pick up some bit of helpful information. My Cricut print then cut had not been working well at all even though I’ve recalibrated it, and it’s so frustrating. You go through all the trouble to design something, print it out, and have it cut terrible. It basically ruins your project if it’s for a gift and not for personal use. My husband works on machinery for a living and he suggested I clean the wheels and blow out any debris there may be in case my Cricut isn’t advancing the mat correctly(I didn’t think about it but of course their may be other reasons for a bad cut other than software issues). No such luck. Thanks for the videos!
Great tutorial, learned why my machine wouldn’t cut when I put the holographic sticky over the top, because I was covering the whole page,, yay I can get it to work now, thank you..x
thank you for this! i got one for christmas as a complete surprise and have never even known what the cricut could do and i got so overwhelmed with not even knowing where to start i shut down haha! at least now i can try to make a sticker sheet!! and i appreciate the hair on your mat. i dropped mine immediately after taking the plastic off and it was completely covered in dog hair and i had another slight breakdown so i'm glad to see it's still usable!!
Lol I live with hair on my mat! If you have some alcohol free baby wipes you can clean it with those but truly a little hair won’t hurt! Have fun with your new cricut and remember to be kind to yourself! It’s ok to make mistakes. It’s all part of learning
Thank you for the updated version for the print and cut. I have been working on stickers for the last couple of days and the calibration helped me to at least get some done. But, for some reason some of my sticker aren’t getting cut although I have the same settings for all of them 🤦🏻♀️
I'm new to your channel and I just want to say I really loved this video. It's was so easy to follow and under. Hands down one of the best tutorials I've watched. Thank you
Thank You for You're Excellent Instructions and showing how to use the design space for print and cut stickers I'm anticipating trying this feature 🙏 Stay Safe and Play Healthy My Friend 💯
I really learned alot. But what I was really looking for was, How to cut out letters with the inside not cut out and clean lines around the letters. Example I want to put my grandchildren's names on a mat for a framed picture. If you have time I really want to get this framed before the holidays. I appreciate your tips. Thanks Linda
Corinne, I thoroughly enjoyed your tutorial! You explain everything clearly and step-by-step which makes it so easy to understand. I just "liked and subscribed" and look forward to learning more creative ways to use my Cricut Maker 3!
I enjoyed your video. It was very user friendly and easy to follow. I'm going to try it. With the donuts stickers could you have used contour to take that gray part out of the middle.
I am a Type 1 Diabetic. I have a Cricut Maker. Do you know of any tutorials or resources how to make my own custom overpatches for the Dexcom G7. There will be for personal use only. I will not be selling them.
Hi Corinne. A while back you posted a video on how to clear your old downloaded Cricut updates that will help clear space. I can not seem to find this video or remember how to do it. Can you link it for me? Love you by the way.
I recently tried print and cut for the first time for a cake topper but the design required me to over lapped an image over another image but when it cut it was a hot mess. My machine cut the images separately so the top image cut over the bottom image I thought it would cut just around the entire image 😞. I will try the flatten feature next time hopefully that works
Those are great, but I ruined a lot of my sticker paper because the machine was not calibrated properly and I then learned how to calibrate, but it still was not good. I hope they get it fixed because I can't afford to waste my sticker paper. Thank you for the great tutorial, I will subscribe.
Thank you for the video. Extremely helpful! And I would have changed that number too! Lol 666 is dreadful. So funny when you changed it. I laughed out loud.
Hi Corrine I am just trying print and cut for the first time. When I upload my image to my mat size it accordingly to the dimensions when I go to make it I get 2 bold black k squares around my image. I can't find out what I am doing wrong. Can you help please.
Great video! Do you know what I have to do if my circuit is not printing and the paper sizes for the stickers are small even though I change the size. Like it wouldn’t fit the whole page
The cricut will never fit the whole page. There are size limits when printing. They are adjusting those limits but it still will never fill the whole page. At this time the largest area you can use for print then cut on an 8.5x11 sheet is 6.75x9.25
Hi Corinne. Great video. However, what I missed was once you prepared the sheet for cutting you did not show the software step of sending the page this time to be cut… eg. Connecting to cricut, etc.. would have been nice to see that part too.
Because you don’t need to do any of that after printing. It’s already connected to the cricut and it’s already good to go. All you do is choose your cut setting on your computer which I show in hundreds of other videos
Ever since the update made in DS for the maker, my Cricuts have not cut the same. I now have a border that makes my mat only cut up to 11.75 inches, and my Print & Cut is off, as I have to account for this 1/4 inch gap on the border. Is this something that can be fixed? I've owned all the Cricut machines and built my own pc. When I call Cricut for help, the agents don't understand, and only read off their canned messages..it's incredibly frustrating.
I know that a full 12 inches is not possible, as I have owned all the cricuts even before DS existed, but I am referring to the fact that all items now have to fit into a border that is even smaller, making it impossible to cut up to the edge of the mat as it was possible before. This makes the concept of a 12 inch mat to be obsolete, and it should now have a thicker non-cutting border on the outside so as to indicate that your image must be less that 11.75". It also means that all items must be placed on the mat with a total of .25 inches in difference..again, this was not the case before the Maker was introduced.
Great Video! Where can I get the pink squeegee? It will match all my pink craft things and my pink Maker! Looks like a great tool to have. I looked in your Amazon store but did not see one. Thank You.
It’s not from amazon it’s from here and it’s 15% off now with code CYBER. I’ll look for a similar one on Amazon for you too www.143vinyl.com/4-squeegee-bright-pink.html?partner=196113
Great video Corrine. I have a question. I found a paisley design that is square format which also includes a monogram in the square. It’s also a print n cut but I want to do as vinyl on my cricut. How do I resize to a round design?
So many questions lol! Do I need to use a special paper for print and cut. What is the name of the sticker paper that you use. What do you recommend for cutting stencils. Thanks so much. Love your videos!!!!!!
You need to use products that can be printed on. Regular paper, copy paper, cardstock, sticker paper, printable vinyl and printable HTV. The type I am using is starcraft you can find it here bit.ly/33t0Wrg I use permanent vinyl when I make stencils.
Hi Corrine, I watch your videos regularly and every time I learn something new. You explain everything so nicely and make it sound so easy to motivate us to make our projects with ease. In this video you spoke about ‘high speed’ which can cause lines. Do these lines refer to the ‘roller lines’ that we usually see when we print edible images? Will appreciate your help/response in this regards. Thank you so much for all, that you do!!!
Thanks for a great video! Do you ever notice any bumpy edges with your sticker with having the laminate on it? I notice some drag marks on mine! Thanks!
I can’t get print and cut to work on my card stock. I’m using white card stock, tried different brands, turned the light off, matte tape over the registration marks, everything! It works great on my printable vinyl and when I make stickers. Just won’t work with an image I print on card stock. 🥺
I use windows yes. If you dialog box is different it may be due to not installing the drivers fully. Try going to the epson website and reinstalling your drivers. You will need to also adjust your printer settings based on the material you are using all materials are different. Be sure your material is made for inkjet printers as well
What type of paper is in your printer? I'm having issues with finding paper that works with my printer. Should I be using regular paper with the settings changed or is there a specific brand you're using when changing the settings?
your video is soo easy to follow thanks but i do have a question...how did the stickers become sticky if you only used glossy paper was it because of the laminate paper???
Ms. Corinne am i able to print and cut on the epson printers used for sublimation or do i have to get a separate machine that cuts? do i have to cut on a machine or can i use something else?
Sublimation ink does not work on this material it is only for sublimation paper and blanks. You have to have a separate printer for inkjet prints. The cricut does not print it only cuts.
@@CorinneBlackstone i'm soo grateful to have asked , i have been doing soo much research and watching your videos to help me. i have a passion for crafts but i feel like i'm out of my element with techy things. just bought an epson printer for sublimation and will use my current inkjet printers and will purchase the circuit. for the vinyls.
Love this video. I noticed that the cut was off on your laminate cut images, this happens to me no matter how much I calibrate my machine. Question to anyone. How can I take text, and place it onto a shape and get it to print the text but not cut around it. Flattening the image is not working as I'm trying to put the text onto a mini envelope. It all works when I select pen instead of print. I could really use some pointers! Thanks.
Wonderful tutorial! Thank you 😊 I do have a question though. Regarding the registration lines. Could one not extend the print zone by creating a DIY frame “registration mark” framing a larger print and cut area on the sheet? Would the cricut acknowledge a created boundary as a “registration mark”? Just curious. Thanks!
The laminate is the sealer. I do not recommend spray sealers. I like this one for clear www.143vinyl.com/starcraft-uv-glossy-laminate-for-printable-vinyl-8.5-x-11-sheets.html?partner=196113
How do we cut the stickers all the way out? So they’re individually cut out and not on the sheet. Also do you have on video on the difference between printable vinyl and sticker paper? I’ve heard people even use papers for labels which is way cheaper.
Hi I have a sheet of advent calender numbers that I want to make into stickers every time i try to cut them out it only cuts the boarder can you let me know how i can make the stckers indinvidually? thank you
You would need to either remove the background (white part around the boxes) if there is one but if all the boxes are touching and there is no space between you would have to create a box around each one and make that box a basic cut and then attach them
@@suewilson683 there is an offset button on the top of the screen. Choose that and from there you can resize it to your liking. Then hit apply and your offset is there! :)
Does lining up the page on the mat precisely have a lot to do with getting a perfect cut? I always thought it mostly followed the registration marks or rectangle. So I’m never exact on applying to the mat. Maybe that’s my problem!!! Where do you think that 6.75x9.25 number came from? What cut setting would you choose if you didn’t apply the laminate?
It can help the machine cut more accurately. The size is due to where the sensors are on the cricut machine itself it allows for room for it to read the lines. And light cardstock without laminate but it depends on what you print on each sticker paper and printable vinyl will be different
I assume if you didn't want to fiddle around with the print then cut - for small projects like just one sheet - you could space them out a little more and then use scissors to cut around them instead of the maker?
@@sophielafleche3803 the cricut can only print a 6.75x9.25 area printing from other places allows you to use the full sheet. If you are not using the cricut to cut you don’t need to stupid black line that cricut has to put on there so you can save ink by not having to print that.
how would i cut out stickers to give away? do i have to cut around each sticker to keep sticker on the paper? oh and thank you for your video ,,,,,i learned so much
Hello Corinne, I have managed to set up my self created sticker for my products, but now I am lost. I have attached, then flattened, the print disappeared, when I continued to go to printer the page was empty, and nothing printed. What am I doing wrong. Please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Make sure your layers are not grouped before or after flattening. You also do not need to attach prior to flattening that can cause some issues. Just flatten
Hi Corinne, I am new to Cricut and I am trying to print and cut on clear printable vinyl. I would like to use the offset feature but they do not have the option to use it as clear/transparent only a color. Can you tell me if it is possible at all? The image I am using has really fine intricate details that I do not want to cut. I would be so grateful if you could help. Thank you Hantie
Hi, thanks for the tutorial! I did as you showed but when I reach to *print part* where you save in pdf, the size is not the same as what I see on my design space *I am using a Mac desktop * the pdf file look much small then the one show on the printer dialog. Please help me
I haven’t seen that issue before. Have you printed the pdf and the one from design space to check the sizing? It may be scaling your image on the pdf if you go into your print settings you should be able to turn scale to 100
@@SDIVADesigns you do not need design space to print the PDF that’s the whole point of saving it as a pdf. It saves it with the registration box so that you can easily take it back to your machine and cut it out
Great vid wondering if you could help. I have a image and im trying to put a hole circle inside like a donut would have but on design space all the actions buttons are greyed out so cannot slice.. I have tried to do using basic shapes and still greyed out.. Any help appreciated 😢😢

Glad to know I’m not the only one getting frustrating print then cut results. I though it was me
It’s super annoying! They need to get it together!
No the lines I speak of are horizontal lines in the print it self the vertical lines would be roller lines
@@CorinneBlackstone oh ok, thanks for your immediate response.
Thanks for a great video! Do you ever notice any bumpy edges with your sticker with having the laminate on it? I notice some drag marks on mine! Thanks!
No I can’t say I do. I would make sure you clean you blade a simple wipe with some alcohol may help and be sure your designs have smooth edges
I can’t get print and cut to work on my card stock. I’m using white card stock, tried different brands, turned the light off, matte tape over the registration marks, everything! It works great on my printable vinyl and when I make stickers. Just won’t work with an image I print on card stock. 🥺
Use your cellphone light and follow the carriage with it while it scans the lines
I use windows yes. If you dialog box is different it may be due to not installing the drivers fully. Try going to the epson website and reinstalling your drivers. You will need to also adjust your printer settings based on the material you are using all materials are different. Be sure your material is made for inkjet printers as well
@@CorinneBlackstone Muchísimas gracias! Lo intentaré. ❤️🌹
What type of paper is in your printer? I'm having issues with finding paper that works with my printer. Should I be using regular paper with the settings changed or is there a specific brand you're using when changing the settings?
This was done using Starcraft printable vinyl it’s linked in the video description.
your video is soo easy to follow thanks but i do have a question...how did the stickers become sticky if you only used glossy paper was it because of the laminate paper???
It’s printable vinyl. It is sticky on the non printed side
Omg! Thank you so much for this!! New subbie here!
Thanks.
You need to be sure the shape you flatten to is solid
@@CorinneBlackstone I will try that. Thanks. ❤️❤️❤️
Wonderful tutorial! Thank you 😊
I do have a question though. Regarding the registration lines. Could one not extend the print zone by creating a DIY frame “registration mark” framing a larger print and cut area on the sheet?
Would the cricut acknowledge a created boundary as a “registration mark”?
Just curious. Thanks!
No. There are hacks for making larger print then cuts but cricut cannot read a larger registration box
@@CorinneBlackstone Thank you 😊
Can we use print and cut from Cricut access?
Yes
You are so helpful, thank you!!!So the paper you used for the stickers is actually vinyl not sticker paper?
Yes. It’s a printable vinyl. Paper is completely different and not as durable or high end looking.
Yes. It’s a printable vinyl. Paper is completely different and not as durable or high end looking.
@@CorinneBlackstone ok thank you good to know. I’m new lol just got my cricut last month! Thanks again!
What vinyl is needed to add ontop of the print and cut design to be able to put onto a cold cup ?
any of the laminate sheets listed here www.143vinyl.com/inkjet-printable-vinyl/?partner=196113
@@CorinneBlackstone thank you I’m the the uk though do you have a suggestion on where to get it from ?
Thank You For This Video
Hi Corinne do you recommend a certain seal for the stickers? A Laminate as well!
The laminate is the sealer. I do not recommend spray sealers. I like this one for clear www.143vinyl.com/starcraft-uv-glossy-laminate-for-printable-vinyl-8.5-x-11-sheets.html?partner=196113
Great! Thank you
How do we cut the stickers all the way out? So they’re individually cut out and not on the sheet. Also do you have on video on the difference between printable vinyl and sticker paper? I’ve heard people even use papers for labels which is way cheaper.
Yes I have a video on that and to cut them out individually you use a heavier cut setting I have tons of print then cut videos
Hi I have a sheet of advent calender numbers that I want to make into stickers every time i try to cut them out it only cuts the boarder can you let me know how i can make the stckers indinvidually? thank you
You would need to either remove the background (white part around the boxes) if there is one but if all the boxes are touching and there is no space between you would have to create a box around each one and make that box a basic cut and then attach them
thank you so much Corrinne I am new at this@@CorinneBlackstone
fun. how did you get the silhouette image , unless i missed it. I saw you saved it but never saw how you made it and saved it. thanks
Do you mean the offset?
@@CorinneBlackstone yes
Good morning. If you only want it to cut the outer line only, how do you do that?
It’s all explained in the video. Flatten to make the item a single piece
Insane tutorial
I assume if you didn't want to fiddle around with the print then cut - for small projects like just one sheet - you could space them out a little more and then use scissors to cut around them instead of the maker?
You could but I wouldn’t print them from cricut then. Huge waste of material and ink
@@CorinneBlackstone I am not sure I understand - why would printing it from cricut vs another way be more ink and material? I am still new to all this
@@sophielafleche3803 the cricut can only print a 6.75x9.25 area printing from other places allows you to use the full sheet. If you are not using the cricut to cut you don’t need to stupid black line that cricut has to put on there so you can save ink by not having to print that.
@@CorinneBlackstone oohh got it LOL. Thank you. Yes that makes sense.
how would i cut out stickers to give away? do i have to cut around each sticker to keep sticker on the paper? oh and thank you for your video ,,,,,i learned so much
You do whatever works for you. You can do die cut where it cuts through the backing or you can do a full sheet
What is the name of the transparent paper that you pasted over the sticker?

You use white. White ink does not exist in inkjet printers.
@@CorinneBlackstone Thank you, and it makes total sense now!
It may be scaling your image on the pdf if you go into your print settings you should be able to turn scale to 100
Ok I will remake it and make a video so you will see. Thanks for the reply
Super! Thank you
Awesome video. But can you show us what's the next step after saving the file as a pdf file. Thank you
It depends on where you are sending it to be printed. Some you upload to the website. Others you save to a flash drive and take it with you
@@SDIVADesigns you do not need design space to print the PDF that’s the whole point of saving it as a pdf. It saves it with the registration box so that you can easily take it back to your machine and cut it out
Which key on the keyboard do you hold down to select all the files to add to our canvas?
You don’t hold a key down you click and drag
What if you want the stickers to completely cut out instead of leaving them on the sheet?
Use a heavier cut setting
Great vid wondering if you could help. I have a image and im trying to put a hole circle inside like a donut would have but on design space all the actions buttons are greyed out so cannot slice.. I have tried to do using basic shapes and still greyed out.. Any help appreciated 😢😢
@@ladyk3540 just put a white circle where you want the hole and attach it. It will cut it out
@@CorinneBlackstone hi miss thanks for the comment back. I have done that using the circle and when cuts out on cricut it just cuts the outer circle. Does not cut the middle of hole. Appreciate you
@@ladyk3540 you have to place the smaller circle over the middle of the hole for it to know it needs to cut there
@@CorinneBlackstone do i need to be using via pc. Im using phone. When I put my image I used with canva to create and use die cut settings it does not allow me to press the slice button.
@@CorinneBlackstone do you have Instagram or fb so could message you sorry to be a pain im new like 3 days in to using this cricut explore 3 machine.
Have you figured out how to do 1 image using the 8.5×11 size in print then cut?
Yes I have a video on that
Such a fantastic and helpful video. TFS! New subbie for sure♥️
I have been struggling with my stickers because my cricut is not cutting right. It is very off centered but maybe using the white offset will help. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated:)
Have you tried to calibrate the machine?
Does this tutorial work for Cricut Maker 3?Thanks
Yes they are pretty much the exact same machine
Help! I have a Mac, I don't if that's the problem, but the option "microsoft print to pdf" doesn't show in my list.. what should I do?
You won’t have that option because Mac isn’t windows. You would need to pick whatever macs program is that is like a pdf
Can u tell me how I can add holes to a card to print and cut? The holes are for earrings.
Make a circle attach it where you want it cut
@@CorinneBlackstone it’s a print and cut and it’s flattened will it just draw a circle or cut a little circle from the card?
@@TheRealRealHousewife it will cut it. Dot flatten the circle only attach it
