I don’t understand why cricut doesn’t just alter the software to allow us to print then cut full 12 inch x 12 page. For the amount of $ we fork out for the machines, it should be included. Print then cut was the main reason I purchased my cricut.
And having to do the work around is such a pain in the neck. Hopefully it changes soon. ❤️🇦🇺

I've been tearing my hair out all evening trying to find a way to print and cut on my 12x12 mats because Cricut will only let me print 2- 3.5 circles on1- 8.5 x11 mat! That is a huge waste of sticker paper! I agree with everyone who said that Cricut needs to step it up and update the software! Why only have a 12x12 mat to just cut instead of Print and Cut! Hacks are great but for the money we pay for the machine....this should be a piece of cake! Pardon my rant but I had to chime in.

  • @jenessaparker

Instead of painters tape I just used cardstock to make the frame! doesn't wreck the mat and still worked perfectly. I just leave the Frame on my mat now and use that mat specifically for this!

Thanks for sharing, your explanations are great! I have watched several other youtubers sharing this method too. I found yours the easiest for me to follow. One detail that was shared in another vid by Leigh Whitaker was instead of tape she used a piece of card stock instead so there was no concern of tape removing the adhesive...a good idea if all ones mats are newish.

I just want to say thank you so much for this tutorial. I just got into making my own stickers again, and previously I would cut them by hand (which is a huge pain and takes a long time). It's a lovely method! And I'm glad to see that people have managed to make their projects work this way. Unfortunately I haven't been able to make it work despite attempting it for hours. It constantly seems to shift around a few millimetres despite using the tape and following each step as recommended. Has anyone else stumbled upon this issue or perhaps know what I might have done wrong? At this point I'm really just feeling like I've wasted my money on this machine.
Thank you for the tutorial nonetheless! ^^

I'm so sorry you are having issues :( That makes me sad. I will say I did have to try a bunch of different methods to figure this out and not all of my attempts went great. I ended up having a lot of fails. I wonder if you could try calibrating your machine to get the blade realigned. That could be causing the issue if for some reason it is not aligned properly

    • @Kenziekittenn

This is great, I'm going to try doing this with the printable holographic sticker paper I got, but haven't used yet. I had tried to place a holographic overlay on top of my matte white vinyl, and my Cricut Explorer Air2 did read the registration marks, but then it cut it all funky. I thought I needed to do another calibration, but without the holographic overlay it cut just fine which was super weird. Brilliant. I've seen other people do this but it was more of a hassle. I use inkscape so this will be one more thing to know I can do. There is a less tacky painters tape. The yellow frog tape is one and does a great job with trim, if painting walls! Just keep it in the package between uses. Thank-you!

Going to see if i can do this with procreate using the same concepts. If not, i'll do it your way. But still, i've watched three 15 min vids, and yours was by far the simplest. The other key part of yours, you actualy freaking showed us the finished product and it worked. Every other one did a ton of extra things and the cuts didn't line up and they just didn't even show the finished product? So were just trying to trick the machine. Perfect. Thank you! design space doesn’t allow a print size larger than 6.75x9.25 on 8.5x11 paper so you can’t print a full page from design space. You can’t add the squares in design space because it’s important to have them perfectly lined up with your printed image. Design space is an awful program when printing due to several reasons. One being size requirements but also it does not give you the highest quality print possible either.

I love this tutorial as it's exactly what I needed to do. I am not wanting an offset on my stickers that I am making and every after calibrating, I am finding that the cut is shifted approx 2.5-3mm to the right. Do you have any suggestions on how to correct this? Or Do I just have to keep adjusting where I place my sheet on the mat to accommodate?

You have to just keep adjusting your sheet. This hack sadly isn’t perfect since cricut isn’t perfect.

It’s the joys of cricut. They have been having a lot of cut issues and it’s not as noticeable when it’s on vinyl but on print then cut it’s super obvious. You just have to try adjusting a little bit every time and try to keep your mat completely flat by putting a paper towel roll or a book under the front of it

Since "print & cut" is not able to print at 300dpi we have to make our own way to correct what Cricut should give by default.

Really helpful, thanks so much. I have a couple questions: 1. Is that paper really waterproof and scratch proof? I've seen many videos where they add lamination on top of the sticker sheets and I wondered if you have to do that with this paper? 2. Everything you did made sense to me except what is the purpose of the four tiny white squares in the corners and do they need to be a particular size?

    • @CorinneBlackstone
