    at 4:34, the personnel door opens with the cargo door because it's propping the cargo door up. If you look outside you can see there's a rod connected to the personnel door that rests on the side of the fuselage

    This plane has character and utilitarian fare. I love the 1000 Radial and all the nuances getting the thing up and flying. Asobo really needs to address said issue with the liveries. I like the slow lumbering pace with the massive windows and open cockpit. That little windshield wiper only on one pane of the window it’s somewhat cute. All in all a nice addition to the classics. Thanks for taking the time once again I will rush to your reviews because they’re fair.

    One of my all time favorites. Actually was able to get pictures in an old Iraqi Air Force one years back.
    Only complaint I have would be when you use a controller the cursor wants to latch to the visor when you're trying to adjust the throttle in the stock view.

    Thank you Rachel for another admirable presentation! Kukuruz in Russian and in other Slavic languages means maize, or corn. The suffix "nik" describes in general a relation between something (corn in our case) and our airplane. It is similar to the suffix "er" in English (ex: to wander - the wanderer). So, if you want, it can be like "the corner, or the cornist", or "the (amazing) mazer".😍

    You have to click and hold and drag the starter switch left and right to get it to stay lol. It's super not obvious, but I figured it out by accident.
    Good ol' inertial starter. Drag the switch left to energize the flywheel for ~10 seconds and then right to engage the starter and crank it over.
    Also if you watch the startup from outside it smokes for a while before the exhaust cleans up. It's really well done.
    Oh and the An-2 has no known stall speed. If the engine dies you just go full aft stick and it floats down "like a parachute".

    In case no one has mentioned it before I think the prop is backwards. Russian radials turn counterclockwise when viewed from the cockpit and therefore need left rudder to counteract p factor.

    The discount in the marketplace was meant as a "give back to premium/deluxe"-buyers, as explained yesterday in the dev twitch stream. Thanks for the video. As for the starter, apparently you need to hold it left to spool up the flywheel, then chop it right to make the engine disengage the clutch and make the engine run. I was told it was realistic... would love to have that gimmick on certain ww2 fighters as well ;) Thanks for the video!

    • @AvAngel
      @AvAngel  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah that's typical but I'm not sure if you could tell in the video, it didn't want to hold in either direction for me for some reason, not sure why, perhaps a glitch with the alpha yoke's starter. That style of starter isn't found on all radials, but it is pretty common, Beaver for example doesn't use that system nor does anything with a starter motor or cartridge start.

    • @Frankestein01nl
      @Frankestein01nl ปีที่แล้ว

      @@AvAngel Thanks for the reply, and no, didn't notice it from the video. Some day maybe we'll have to crank a handle on the side of the nose, hop in the cockpit and engage the magneto's ;) (That'll be an even stranger VR day, hahaha) Have a great day, AvAngel, thanks for the video's!

    I had the pleasure of flying in one of these (HA-MKF) so have been looking forward to a decent one on MSFS, i got mine today. I have Honeycomb throttles but for some reason I cannot get the prop lever to function, the mixture and throttle work as intended.

    • @AstrogeoJay
      @AstrogeoJay ปีที่แล้ว

      @@AvAngel Thanks, I have it working now, for some stupid reason I tried to use the commercial airliner flaps lever for the prop control, as I thought it looked more similar to the one in the An-2, white and sort of wedge shaped but it appears thwe flap lever dopes not work in that position, i tried with another lever and it works fine. I'm actually using the blue prop lever as my mixture as it is blue in the An-2 and the red mixture lever is now my prop lever. I might get something made to fit over the red thing to make it look more authentic.

    While I absolutely love this aircraft both in real life (having flown in one whilst at an air race in portugal) as well as in the sim, It does seem to suffer from asobo-isms a bit. I think they ought to focus more on the base game mechanics before dumping a ton of money into other modules. It seems as if they are lacking in certain areas such as engine modelling, and tailwheel physics. It would also be nice to see fully fledged manuals with performance sheets as well as other things. It is still heaps of fun to fly though, Almost comically so. Also it seems as if they paid attention to the comically loud pneumatic brakes that are so loud in the real aircraft. even while I was up front.

    They was used as Drones in the Armenian / Azerbaijan war by Azerbaijan . They flew them out on take off and then bailed out over friendly territory and one plane behind acted as the drone control plane . Loaded with explosives they could be flow into targets or just used to expend expensive SAM missiles from the Armenian side . Once they Armenia ran out of SAM missiles the Fighters would roll in and bomb the air defences . It was quite effective and it's rumoured the Russians might try the same against Ukraine . I have been waiting for this addon as it looks amazing , it's so ugly it's beautiful . And i expect fun to fly , thanks for the great review 🙂

      I do and have, I presented facts and history of the aircraft and gave a brief overview of it which is the point of a first look rather than an in depth review. Plus it’s hard to get videos out in time to be relevant for buyers when there’s no manual and master something. My goal is to show viewers what they’ll get and let them decide, that’s all.
