Missed oot on the CR, just ordered 46% one; a wee bit disappointed it's roughly same price as the CR (from what I remember) 😔 but hay ho beggers can't be choosers
@@MaltActivist Committee Bottle. Both were available, so I went higher ABV, as is my normal protocol when possible, and as matched your review. Cheers!
@@MaltActivist a small liquor store has the scorch committee release for $179 US. Would you pay that, or go for something like a Springbank 15 for around the same price? I might just pick it up for the collection since it seems like a great price.
@@shaunwitzler5482 hmmmmm depends if you're an Ardbeg fan and doing it for collection. If yes, then pick it up. Or else pound for pound the Springbank 15 is a better dram. Lemme know what you pick.
Excellent stuff and glad you got one - you freaking fanboy! It's hardly available in the country of it's origin any more so we have to taste it second hand, so to speak. Ardbeg suck really. Good enough whisky but they treat the U.K like crap. People in the States buy this stuff in shops when it's impossible to get it anywhere in the U.K and it's been like that for years in their insatiable attempt to get global 'market share'. They take themselves very seriously. Negativity out of the way lets talk about the good stuff. As the name suggests I am a sucker for all things bulls and dragons. My Amrut collection is a forgone conclusion because of fighting Toros on the label. Same thing with a Dragon. What a sucker I am. Guess what? It's got peat and smoke, how about that? Dragons and Islay. A lot of people weren't so keen on the Perpetuum but I liked it and I had a few drams of the CR at event which I liked even more. Very ashy palate. The best thing going for Scorch is your enthusiasm buddy. Like a kid in a sweetshop. (Fanboy - Like Hellboy but with Ardbeg superpowers such as breathing fire and "no gagging.") Very pleased you're so happy. We need that ray of sunshine. WT
Finally a proper and excellent review of the ardbeg scorch from an actual fan of the distillery 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
What a wonderfully entertaining video!!!!! Looking forward to trying to taste it. Take care.
Thank you Cliff!!! Do let me know when you find one to taste.
I saw on reddit that, Scorch is second fill from the casks used for Alligator.
wow, is it really? worth looking into that.
Fantastic video, which certainly didn't drag-on. Love the passion and great to enjoy this via your review as is way out of my price range! Cheers
Like watching your videos and the way you present them... comes straight from your heart ❤️ ,I feel... cheers... god bless... stay safe

I can tell you miss your annual visit to Islay. Wow I now have to search for it. Also Arrrrrdbeg needs to be in my collection. Cheers buddy 🥃🤙
Come to Islay next year. You won't regret it. I promise.
@@MaltActivist oh if only I could lol. Once my kids get married and move out. I’ll have tons more extra time to spare 👍

This bottling showed up in local stores this morning. Going to pick one up at lunchtime.
I really hope you're happy with it! Did you get the Committee Bottle or the Festival Release?

Been looking forward to this review!!
Thank you Erik. Glad you could stop by.
What's a decent price on these now a days?
Not sure, brother. Probably north of $350 is my guess

WT you are the wind beneath my wings....
For me, this was a very deceiving product. I think Ardbeg is freefalling since the Groove release. Again, this is a personnal opinion.
Aww man ! That's not good to hear. Well, lets find one that we both like and share a dram.
