Usually NVMe technology overheats the device. This is the reason why Samsung T7, T7 shield and SanDisk Extreme portable SSDs become heated quickly.
Do you know when an "8TB" portable SSD will be available?
There is a data loss issue as well in Sandisk Extreme portable SSD which is not addressed here
This is a serious issue, both for their 2TB and 4TB Sandisk Extreme 2 Pro models. It suddenly fails to work and you can't access the device anymore. Countless people reported the same issue, I am one of them and lost 2x 2TB disks, it's so frustrating. DON'T BUY IT!
@@firsthelix6726 That’s just on the Extreme **Pro** models. The SanDisk Extreme _classic_ has no issues whatsoever. **Do** buy those as they’re absolutely safe.
This data loss issue was on the Pro version, not the regular Extreme portable (not Pro). Since, they have released a new firmware to adress this issue 😉
