I was lucky enough to see Stevie live at IU Auditorium in 1986. His brother's band The Fabulous Thunderbirds opened and for Stevie's encore he brought his brother Jimmie out and they played a song called "Pipeline" on a double neck guitar. For obvious reasons you need to react to it. You will be blown away and finally figure out why they make double neck guitars. LOL Seriously just check it out.

He wrote this about his struggles with drugs and alcohol.

He overcame his tribulations and was immediately snatched away from life by an inept copter pilot who flew wide open into that hill killing them all. What a fucking shame! RIP my hero SRV!

I saw Stevie 🎸 and Double Trouble after Stevie was sober. Shortly after he was in that fatal helicopter crash. This song wrote by DT and two other people. At first Stevie wasn't into it. His playing got better he bad when he took that 2nd chance at life he said he had every break down a person could have. He woke up in the bus in Germany and barely knew his bass player Tommy Shañnon they met when Stevie was 14 Tommy is older than Stevie. They got him out Germany and still played more shows until they got to London where Eric Clapton's Dr helped him get sober. Stevie got there in time.. They said he was probably had a month to live. Part of his contact was a 5th of Scotch and 4 grams of cocaine a day. His pick me for the a.m. was cocaine and whiskey. He'd alcohol since 6 or 7 and cocaine since he was around 7. He said more was he was a little man he was doing more than a 6 foot man or would do. He embraced his sobriety he just didn't know how to stop. His got better because he was off the heavy stuff he said cigarettes were hard to quit I think he finally did.. The song is about when those demons want back in you have to make a choice. He still helps people get sober through an AA meeting that got out to this day. You wouldn't believe it was the same person so soft spoken. People who knew his story. He was so sweet and humble very charitable. He was engaged until that fatal crash he got on the helicopter with part Of Clapton's crew there was a seat he wanted to call his fiance before going to bed. The drummer Chris Layton saw it on the news and to get in his room and his peppermint was still on the pillow and the bed had not been touched. Jimmie Stevie's older brother who actually started Stevie when he was six or seven then you teach yourself and he did I read Texas Flood listen to many documentaries on his life. The pilot was not instrument panel trained for night flying the company should have never put him there he shouldn't it down as PE but it was both. The venue was hard to get into so they choppered everyone in. Everyone said Stevie was super happy that day and they all said it was Stevie's night. His last words were to Chris Layton Stevie's drummer for 14 years he stuck by Stevie. He said I love ya man. Just a back story. They had 4 choppers to come in and 1 was missing. They didn't find the wreckage until the.morning. They all died upon impact. God let us have him for a while and took him home. Stevie used to say your body is gone but his spirit is still here. 😊❤️🎸🐕On his last album I cannot remember the song he used 32 to amps to get the sound he wanted. He had the best tone and nobody has matched it . I'm not just a fan girl true story. I play guitar along with other instruments. He was the GOAT he still depending on what publication you read he's the top 10 or top 5 guitarists. He died on the same day as his dad 4 years later. Miss you Stevie. Texas is still putting up monuments. He's Texas son. Eric Clapton has said he didn't want to play after Stevie he said how do you follow that. Eric was one of Stevie's idols. Big compliment. Thanks for indulging me and keeping Stevie's music alive. You guys are awesome.

Did you know he was a self taught guitarist who couldn’t read sheet music? He played by ear and from his soul

He was never addicted to heroin! He abused alcohol and cocaine. It was Eric Clapton that was addicted to heroin and Eric's doctor that Stevie went to after he collapsed to detox. He worked the AA program for the rest of his days helping and encouraging people to get sober as well.

@@Laraikha indeed you are right, I agree. He had twin addictions which is well known but you threw in a serious third that doesn't exist. For the sake of his memory and legacy I wanted to clarify your statement. I even hope you will edit your comment. ✌️💙

Ok I love your guy's reactions and I used to drop comments every day requesting like a specific 3 or 4 songs.....still haven't gotten to it yet so this isn't a request this time, this is me begging for one song from you guys....please please choose between these 2 videos if you really like Heart or Pink Floyd.....Mona Lisa's and Mad Hatters by Heart alive in seattle, or, maybe one of the best performances of all time, Pink Floyd finally reuniting Live from Live 8 2005 doing Comfortably Numb. PLEASE PLEASE
