They don’t make movies quite like this anymore. This movie is so classy, comforting, and legendary. One of my staple movies during the Christmas season.
They don’t make any good movies anymore I have to watch 50s and 60s Movies to get anything good. But there’s some good 80s stuff but nothing has come out good of any kind in like 20 years. I’ve seen a few random ones worth buying it’s so few and far between.
As someone born in the early 90's, but grow up with these kinds of movies around Christmas time, we need more movies that just give us comfort even in crazy times like this!
I’m a 93 baby and it took me 20 years to sit down and watch this classic. I’ve seen it 5-6 times. And yet I know how you feel about the kind of movies we need.
I've loved this movie since I was a child. And sometimes when I have trouble going to sleep I remember this song and thank God for all I have been blessed with and I fall to sleep.
The first time my one-year-old heard this song, she stopped what she was doing and fell asleep. Now I sing it to her almost every night before she goes to bed. I'll always think of my little girl when I hear it :)
My Mom hated Christmas, she battled depression, but her youth was during this time (WW2) so it STILL brings her back to me. I miss too many people to mention, none of my childhood adults are left. But I know we'll meet again soon enough! Enjoy your now as best you can! The time flies way too fast! 💝💝💝

It's actually because we have LESS diversity today that in some superficial ways we can appear to have more.
@@alexanderfretheim5720 Great point. As an American Airlines stewardess in the early 50's, my mother would comment how each city had it's own unique restaurants, culture, and overall feel back then. But by the 80's that was gone she said- every city looked the same with the same restaurant chains and the like in all of them.
Yeaaa, their bonding comforts the audience. As they comfort each other, they show the world how people need to comfort one another. -- Add God's love for truly profound life. Amen.
Watching this movie on christmas eve is the one traditon i will never let go of. I love this film so much it nearly brings me to tears. What an honor it must have been to work with such an amazing, wonderful cast.
First Christmas without my dad and mom....big big tears...counting my blessings...my many many blessings they both taught me that I will pass on to others
When I was a little girl, I'd always watch these movies at on Christmas night, after all the presents were opened and the dinner was eaten it was my way to wind down before the new year. This song never failed, and never will fail, to make me cry. It's the sound of a more innocent time. I miss it.
What a beautiful description. As a child (little boy), I did the same thing. These films created a soothing, beautiful backdrop for the whole season. They were one of those "constants" that we could always count on. They were a source of assurance and gentleness that made me happy to be alive. They also bonded me, my family, and friends together, because we all shared these movies and came away with the same warm feelings.
I love these memories you’ve shared. I’ve been feeling very nostalgic lately and just craving the older, simpler times. Thank you for helping with my nostalgic journey.
@Jessica Ugwuoke I too wish we had the wholesomeness of that time! When men were men and women were women and the trans movement wasn't trying to destroy biological sex and convince the world that biology and chromosomes don't matter.. yes besides the racism and sexism that time was beautiful.
Part of me is disappointed that I couldn't have lived in the era of White Christmas and other entertainment the likes of which they just don't make anymore, but the other part of me is glad that I live in the age of TH-cam where I can listen to songs like this anytime I'm feeling down
I watched part of this with my Grandfather. i made a brief comment that i couldn't believe this was popular at the time, and that the actors acted like 12 year olds....he got a little pissed off. But, he hates Star Wars with a passion, and says the same thing about it.
Pete Zereeah At this time, 1954, American movies were strictly controlled by the Hays Code. Look up Joseph Breen who controlled the censorship of Hollywood at that time and you'll see why the actors seemed to act like 12 year olds. They weren't allowed to act like adults would have at the time as the movies wouldn't have passed the censor in a lot of cases, although manners were better than they are today. Nevertheless, I was a child of eight when White Christmas came out and Count Your Blessings is the song I remember best as I loved it so much. There's a lovely video on TH-cam as well of Gordon MacRae singing this song live with his daughter Meredith that I like just as much as Bing Crosby's.
+Arkle Sparkle I beg to differ...It's TODAY's actors (or more accurately put, the characters they portray) that act and speak like 12 year olds, using foul language, sexual innuendos and gross/off-color humor. In earlier times the characters portrayed conducted themselves as adults ideally should: Respectfully, with intelligence, a good sense of humor, and above all, with CLASS. "Class" is a concept seemingly lost on society today, and we'd all do well to get back to some good old basics of conduct, civility and courtesy. We can truly learn something from these old films.
IT WAS A GREAT TIME TO BE ALIVE-- THIS WAS MADE IN 54 -- I WAS BORN IN 58.. I USE TO WATCH THIS CHRISTMAS EVE ON TV WITH MY MOM AND DAD-- BOTH ARE GONE TO HEAVEN NOW-- AS WELL AS EVERYONE IN THIS MOVIE
Me and my family watch white Christmas every year since I was little along with a Christmas Carol with Allister Sims! My dad has been passed away for 9 years this year but we still watch both of them and remember a time when our Christmas was perfect! Now every year at Christmas for me it's all about who's still around the tree to celebrate not what's under the tree
I’ve been having nightmares these past few days, some very upsetting ones. I’m trying to watch more wholesome things before bed, like this, and for some reason I got emotional. I hope everyone’s allright out there. Rosemary sounds like my grandmother. I miss her so much.
Did you ever read the inane comments written by film critics about this movie? They said the plot is weak. -- nothing more than a thinly veiled excuse to sing a bunch of Irving Berlin's songs. (Firstly, I don't need an excuse.) Then, they said this song was "the Least Forgetable" among the score. IDIOTS! This movie is often compared to its earlier companion piece. -- "Holiday Inn". There is NO Comparison. That Was just another run of the mill Hollywood production. A simple boy-meets-girl love story. BUT THIS film White Cristmas is SO MUCH MORE. It is the quintessential and most beloved of ALL American Christmas movies. Why? Because the LOVE is NOT just confined to the 2 boys and 2 girls. It's shared and vicariously experienced by everyone. BOTH cast of characters, AND the viewing audience. It showcases the truly American sentiments of goodwill and compassion. When Bob (Bing) pulls open the back-stage garage doors. -- to see the snowfall. -- YOU get to see a Courier & Ives scene of the sleigh. It's like a LIVING Christmas card! The Mr & Mrs Santa costumes, by designer Edith Head, are THE greatest costuming achievement in film history. The very final closing scene is very telling and touching. Pure 1950's sentiment. The ex-GI's and their wives are seated around tables. But they get up, walk around, to greet and hug each other. They are proud to play a small part in the Real Wallace and Davis "show". The gift to General Waverly. This subtle scene is one of the great cinematic triumphs in depicting the American Spirit. Because the WHOLE audience both senses and participates. On BOTH sides of the glass in front of your TV picture tube.
I am not a Christian but I have always loved this movie and have very fond memories working on the stage show as a stagehand in Boston. I must watch it again this year. I sing this to myself in bad times and good, and I have so many blessings.
almost 40 years after his death and Bing Crosby is still one of the greatest and most talented singers ever in history.... and i have a feeling he always will be.... i can definitely relate to this song, especially with financial stress and such....
Have always loved this song. Reminds me of when we would all go to my grandparents house on Christmas Eve and wait for Santa to arrive. What a great time to go back to if only in my mind... Miss those great times...
I feel the same.. The love at Christmas time when my granny and grampy used to visit at Christmas... the smell of Christmas the scent of Christmas and the basic love at Christmas is something in the past and a long time ago...
No one in Hollyweird now could sing so sweet and sincere as Bing and Rosemary. The good ol' days. I love thinking about this song when I go to bed and this sweet scene.
I went to her museum in northern Kentucky and actually met her sister in law, Nina, which is George's mother. In her 70's then but could win the Miss America pageant.
I think this is my favorite scene in that whole movie. Just this song, and the lead-up to the kiss. I think that bit about the white horse is just about the cutest and most romantic thing I’ve ever heard.
Even now some 65 years later there is no Christmas movie comes close to the high ratings of white Christmas thank you Bing Crosby and rosemary and Danny and vera
The talented cast, wonderful musical soundtrack, colorful cinematography , beautiful costume and overall set designs all complimented this beloved classic holiday musical!
Back when things were pure, innocent, and normal…even during the worst of times. I grieve for what we’ve lost and will never gain back, but I am thankful for the memories of a better time.
One of the most perfect Christmas songs around. A shame there are only 50,000 views, more young people should hear this! I forgot to add that Rosemary's voice is a beautiful addition. Glad to see that the viewing numbers jumped since my original post!
Solid advice. Count your blessings every night. I do that at least twice a week. I need to do it more. I'm severely disabled. And my SIL is in the hospital dying. Her daughter is confused about what is going on. So there are days when I says "why me and my family?" Then I think about those that don't have anyone to help them. Those on the streets without a roof and food. Ect. I am currently making hats and scarfs for the many homeless in my area. I'm calling it "Hats for the Homeless". If anyone crochets like me or maybe knits like my aunt or anything. Maybe you could do it too. They need our compassion. And during the winter they need what warmth we can give. Even going to the 99 cent store and putting together little bag of food and supplies. Women need pads and tampons. Etc.
No matter how old i get I'm glad i got to watch this, i loved all the songs and the story plot, it makes me happy every time i watch the movie on christmas.
I keep coming back to this wonderful song- so poignant, heart touching- count all those great blessings that keep coming out way- even right now sharing this with you.
Yes I got to watch this grand old movie!! White Christmas is definitely a great movie with many great actors. Really great music too!!! Totally the Christmas movie to watch!!!
We stayed up as kids, on 'Christmas Vacation' (yes, that is what we used to call it, not winter season break) and we'd watch this film every year, the ONE time it would air. All the classics, they'd come on ONCE. We'd look in the TV Guide to see when they would be coming on. These programs meant so very much to us as kids.
One of my favorite movies growing up as a child. My family and I sitting down together and watching it on television. The talent put together from the director producers writers and of course the wonderful cast whose Talent is Unforgettable. Thank you to all for the positive memories and for the iconic film that will live on forever for generations to come.
Listening to Bing Crosby sing this song puts me to sleep better than drinking a warm glass of milk or taking an Ambien or sleeping pill! :P Not only does it remind me how blessed I am, but Bing Crosby's voice is so awesome & soothing that I can't help but close my eyes & sleep...
BOB: When i'm worried and i can't sleep i count my blessings instead of sheep and i fall asleep counting my blessings when my bankroll is getting small i think of when i had none at all and i fall asleep counting my blessings. I think about a nursery, and i picture curly heads, and one by one i count them as they slumber in their beds. If you're worried and you cant sleep, just count your blessings instead of sheep and you'll fall asleep counting your blessings. Betty: if i'm worried an i cant sleep i count my blessings instead of sheep and i fall asleep counting my bless- BOB: -if your worried and you can't sleep, Bob & Betty: Just count your blessings instead of sheep and you'll fall asleep counting your blessings

Now it's up to us to keep passing this along to the next generation. I appreciate this movie so much more now. #timeless #wholesome
44 here and yes my grandparents introduced me to this golden age of film. I think of my Grandfather often (as he was more a father to me) and I sing these songs and he comes to life. I consider it a blessing to have these remastered gems to continue to share via the science and technology that keeps them alive.
Harry "Bing" Crosby was a guy who many people wishes they could call dad. I love this man. White Christmas is & will forever be my favorite Christmas musical. What a god given treasure of a movie. Came out in 1954~7 years before my birth. I probably watched it at least 500 times. I cry as soon as the Caption walks down the steps in his uniform & his granddaughter Susan see's him. After that its a wrap. Crying like a baby for the rest of the film. Thanks Bing for "All the blessings" you've given generations of people. Merry Christmas Mr. Blessings. XOXO
I want to thank my parents for watching and listening to this era of movies and music. Although I certainly was a grunge guy in my 20’s I always appreciated this and more so today. My wife and I even hired a 18 piece big band for our wedding 20 years ago. Somehow this genre gets me more than others. Maybe it’s past life I don’t know. Regardless it’s talented stuff

Etc.
No wonder this song got an Oscar nomination! Bing Crosby sure had a wonderful voice
A classic duet of this nature is something we all need right now.
No matter how old i get I'm glad i got to watch this, i loved all the songs and the story plot, it makes me happy every time i watch the movie on christmas.
Who else fell in love with this film as a kid and now watches it every Christmas with their mother🥺
I keep coming back to this wonderful song- so poignant, heart touching- count all those great blessings that keep coming out way- even right now sharing this with you.
HIS VOICE IS SO PERFECT AND BEAUTIFUL-- WOW
I needed this tonight.
Yes I got to watch this grand old movie!! White Christmas is definitely a great movie with many great actors. Really great music too!!! Totally the Christmas movie to watch!!!
Wonderful song we must be grateful of all our blessings
Maria Cruz I bet that Bing counted his dollars instead of sheep.
This a holiday classic that we make sure we watch every Christmas. Great memories.
Bing Crosby is one of the best singers ever.
Rosemary Clooney too
This is my favorite song to fall asleep too every night its true counting your blessings instead of sheep ❤😴
I recorded this song just last month for my new Christmas album. Absolutely beautiful! A classic song! Love it!
This song is so beautiful and comforting.
This is actually true 👍 .
If you count your blessings 🙏 before and after sleep you'll not only sleep better you'll live better. This is real prayer.
Amen.
One of my favorite movies growing up as a child. My family and I sitting down together and watching it on television. The talent put together from the director producers writers and of course the wonderful cast whose Talent is Unforgettable. Thank you to all for the positive memories and for the iconic film that will live on forever for generations to come.
Not just my family then
nothing like >>>>>FOREVER A CHRISTMAS MOVIE OF THIS GRANDEUR, GREW UP WITH THIS ALWAYS AT CHRISTMAS.....ON THE 23RD....ALWAYS...
I like to listen to this song when I literally can't sleep.
I love this song and the movie!
My mom and dad used to sing this to me as a kid. It always calmed me down at night when i had anxiety
ugh favorite movie of all time i want to live in this time so bad
Me too.. So much
+Luke Hemmings ...Political Correctness, Feminism and Multiculturalism are destroying western civilization.
Sometimes I wish I was born 30 years ago instead of almost 25 years ago. But I won't mind spending one day in the 50's.
When my daughter was little she was always watching this movie with me. She also liked Sisters!! What a beautiful voice both of them!!
I missed this one along the way. Very nice and soothing.
I also think of this song when times are tough and I've found it a great comfort over the years.
That lady sure had a beautiful smile!
wonderful duet by two legends in a classic movie
BOB:
When i'm worried and i can't sleep
i count my blessings instead of sheep and i fall asleep counting my blessings
when my bankroll is getting small i think of when i had none at all
and i fall asleep counting my blessings.
I think about a nursery,
and i picture curly heads,
and one by one i count them
as they slumber in their beds.
If you're worried and you cant sleep,
just count your blessings instead of sheep
and you'll fall asleep counting your blessings.
Betty:
if i'm worried an i cant sleep i count my blessings instead of sheep
and i fall asleep counting my bless-
BOB:
-if your worried and you can't sleep,
Bob & Betty:
Just count your blessings instead of sheep
and you'll fall asleep counting your blessings
count your blessings its everything true.
The message is the best advice no matter your age or where you are in life...
This song will never be forgotten. Thank you Lee
I'm 34 and thankful and blessed my grandparents introduced me to this movie and others of this time like It's a Wonderful Life! I used to think when i was younger that it was "too old and boring" but it stayed with me and i couldn't go through a Christmas without this movie and still can't!
My children are around your age and also love this movie. 😊
I’m 30 and I discovered both movies when I transitioned from boyhood to a man! Equally beautiful
This whole film was both appropriate and truly wonderful. I'm reminded of my much missed Mum and Dad ! And that brings me back to those days.. 😭
That voice pure magic!
I love this.
who would give this a thumbs down? lol. great movie
Good song to listen to daily during this pandemic. This song illustrates one of great laws of attraction. Gratitude. But is so much more melodic !!!
I love Rosemary clooney's voice so much!!! So soothing ❤
Blessings. XOXO
Great movie, great music, great stars! How can you not love this movie!
I love this movie and this song. I watch it every year.
I would love to marry someone like Bing. He was such a smart and beautiful person inside and out!
Why would you want to be married to someone who beat his children?
You might want to research him a little more before you run off and elope.
Christmas is just not Christmas without this movie it helps to bring the joy of the season❤
Gorgeous song. I love how throughout the whole film you just see Rosemary Clooney absolutely fawning over Bing. I wish I could've!
