could have done without the music
2-strokes are HEAVEN to ride! The sound... the smell... the powerband... OMFG... the pure ESSENCE of motorcycling! Hell, even my HONDA MB5, 50cc, 5-speed, 2-stroke is a blast to ride doing 53 MPH tops! I ride it more than my large displacement 'superbikes'!
My rg500 is probably the most exciting bike I ever owned in my 40 years of motorcycling. That includes R1,gsxr1000 and many more bikes.
Mine too! Ride it don't hide it :]]
Would be nice to hear the bikes and not some geezer singing opera.
I hear both , u should check your ears at a doctor mate :)
Very few Sound recordings really capture the true sound of a big two stroke but in the flesh they sound amazing (especially an aircooled one) For those that have never herd one think fireworks going off in the distance on the tickover changing into tearing sheet metal on the powerband
If only I could afford one now. Had 3 rg's I my day and loved every second of owning them. 4 strokers just don't understand.
NS 400 I used to have one of those.
Great video!
Watching it, brightened my day! Thank you MCN!
Yes I had all the Yamaha two strokes I possibly could back in the day and my old RZ350 was the best of the lot.
Dirty, noisy, smelly two-strokes... Don't you just love them! Thank you MCN; this video has made an old man smile on a dull, grey, wet morning.
two stroke is iconic...i used to have RG115 and RXZ135(asian market).i do some mod on them....such a powerhouse for little penny.the problem is...fuel consumpsion is out of chart when you open throttle wide....make my eye bleeding seeing fuel meter going down.but....the trill ride on them is priceless.
Always loved 2 strokes. My first bikes were all 2 strokes and, even the lower capacity ones, they were a real hoot to ride
still have skoal bandit replica that dad bought new in 1986. love this bike. full restoration when i can swing it. i remember going to bike rallies on this thing and feeling like a rock star. lol
Wish this was the scratch n sniff edition :-)
The little NSR4 croaking like an angry frog! Love it.
Could have done without the music, other than that beautiful bikes and brought back some great 2 stroke memories of mine.
Smell the two-stroke smoke, just brilliant! :-)
until you don't ride a 2stroke you have no idea how awesome it is !!!
my first bike was R6 but then I bought nsr125 and I love it just as much.
when the powerband kicks in its just amazing !!!
An MCN video with AMAZING video quality and AMAZING sound quality. This must be a dream come true. Great video MCN! :) Sorry for the caps but I'm really excited.
That V-Due is just gorgeous! Wonder if they got the fuel delivery sorted.
cant beat the power of a 2 stroke..i love my 2...
Just awesome!! Love two-strokes!
cant believe there are people saying "why would you buy a two stroke bike" maybe the fact that they can handle like twice the power of the equivalent 4 farter and be much lighter and simpler to work on . all the 4 stroke 125s are slow a 4k wr125 will get shit on by a 20 year old dt125 lol
Painting a Barry sheene 500 rep at the moment, will be uploading a video of it very soon!
you have to hang on to a RG... Took one to TT90, had great fun.
Beautiful..
Rz500 is my dream bike. Got an rd350 now
Whats up with people here hating on the way 2 strokes sound? You obviously haven't been close to one going by at full chat. Motorcycling is mostly about sensations, and these bikes provide an overload of it.
That V-due its an heartbreaker
Where do I sign up
YOU JUST CAN`T BEAT THE SOUND OF THESE BIKES.THE DOGS BOLLOCKS.......
bump, love these bikes...
Cazy R ..lindermear tuned x7 .good times
Brilliant,,,,memories
when you reach powerband that's heaven...
Where's the website address?
I'm not a fan of the sound of them while tootling about, but they don't sound bad when caining it. Different yes, bad no.
I wouldn't buy a 2 stroke but I would love a go on one!
loved it
he is so happy !
LOVED my RZ500, wish I still had it, but an extended unemployment during the dot bomb era forced it's sale to raise some cash.
fascinujúci štart pomocou štartovacej páky :-) 500., 2stroke dvojdobý sen :-)))
Haha, I miss the boxes shape of the tail section on motorcycles.
oh and great video
RZ (RD) 500 all the way but each to their own I guess. By the way, when you were editing this video how could you not get how frigging annoying that music was..
Wow they sound like snow mobiles when idling :D
2 Strokes Forever!
Remember Darren Dixon racing an rg 500 (padgets) back in the day up against rc30s gave them a good run for their money
SKIPP THE MUSIC
Im putting a 500 Gamma square four 2T motor into a 1991 RGV250 Alloy rolling chassis..Should be real wicked but already its blown the budget at 50 percent completed.
2 STROKE 4 EVER !!!
Ah ha ha ....
I got a head ache too
Nice feature but that music over the entire sound track ruins it. Very annoying and completely unnecessary.
First rule of background music is never use anything with vocals, because it makes listening to whoever is speaking over it bloody well difficult and off putting. Never mind MCN, better to have a faulty video than none at all :) I do miss my 2-stroke days. I toured all over the country (everywhere, from Cumbria to the south east) on a DT125, and it never broke down on me... it did like overheating though. Lots.
olha isso Luck Harold
Verdade Renan de Souza Freitas , muitos estão sentindo falta dessas fantásticas e fabulosas 2 tempos.
My dt50 would smoke all of them, literally.
Xbelasah pun......
Lagu apa kejadahnya.......✌️😂
A headache?
Ca frime les macaronis ! sortir le genou si tu le pose pas, ça sert a rien !🤣
1:08 fake exhaust?
Nope, leaking gearbox into the combustion chamber of the 1st cylinder.
while i hate those sounds those are some evil bikes!
Bimota, no wonder it looked good.
I lust after the Bimota but why that bloody awful music?
Smoking is good for you!
Can you re upload the vid without the crap music? Thanks!
Could have been a good video but destroyed during editing
Lose the music!
That's what Tuscany needs, stinky 2strokes farting around
Squatting over hole in the ground created idea for a toilet, doesn't mean I need to show appreciation for it every time I go for poo
Saleucami Is this a bedtime story your mama kept telling you that you wanted to share here?
obviously the boy hasn't tried and rd350lc or rz500 ,,pure ignorance and opinionated childish behaviour
As a canadian this is kind of weird to watch. My ears tell me a snowmobile is coming but then I see a motorcycle.
You must not have been paying attention during the heyday of these bikes. Not only could we buy them and love them (though the RD was called an RZ in our market), but we loved them all the more because our US friends couldn't buy them. Personally, even after 35 years as a rider, my most memorable ride was the time I borrowed a friend's RG . It was fast, it handled, the brakes were fantastic, and unlike today's crop of sportsbikes it was also surprisingly comfortable.
You should do review on these old 2 strokes, I expected that to see in the video, not only riding with some shitty opera music.
For those who dont know what 2 stroke is they talk shit about them. Compare it to modern 4 stroke engines and you dumbasses will see the difference: Example Cagiva Mito 125 2 stroke: 35 hp, Yamaha YZF125 4 stroke 15 hp!
I wish 2 stroke 125 and 250 are still in production! It was really nice when 250 2 stroke made more hp than todays V2 4 stroke 650!
4- Bimota: sold not reliable, other generation.
3- RDLC: steel frame, "road bike"
2- NSR: 400, horrible noise
1- RG: The only one
Ruined by bad music , well done
I wouldn't give you Guys a RG500, really not
Why would you buy a bike with a 2-stroke engine?
Sound, smell, power band, iconic.
CBRsmithy sound is terrible!!
Because in their day they were a fair bit lighter and a lot more powerful than the four strokes. These days it's the same reason you buy any classic.
Szymon Nowotniak i think you are 10.
Szymon Nowotniak age confirmed
The fucking stupid music spoiled the video.
get rid of fucking music
Turn off the bloody opera...
Hate that sound with a passion...
tosser

Wow so nice listening to cheezy opera music instead of the lovely song of these bikes 👎🏻🙄
Stupid music over the top ruins this .
What a shame .
Maybe its just my age but i despise 2 strokes, they sound terrible and they aint exactly the most reliable bikes.
they are not reliable only if not looked after properly, they are one of the simplest engines, much fewer parts than a 4 stroke, and you have to mix in oil into the fuel yourself, and if you don't use the right oil or the right amount it can cause problems, of course more modern ones are better in this regard, but either way they wear out faster than a 4 stroke, so they need maintenance more often.
P.S. i don't like them either.
I can confirm its your age...
I wouldn't buy one, but if I was offered that Bimota for free I'd gladly take it, and no not to sell it and get a newer bike (if it was worth a lot of money)
Modern 2 strokes are just as reliable as 4 strokes, if they're about the same power (and not a 2 stroke race bike).
Joe G.P. The majority of street-legal two-strokes starting in the 1960s were Japanese and they had oil injection. You had to keep oil in the tank, but you certainly didn't need to mix it in the gas. They were also very reliable. The worst were the European bikes: British 2-strokes didn't use oil injection because they were old designs and the manufacturers hoped you wouldn't notice how outdated they were. Italian 2-strokes also didn't have oil injections because gas stations in Italy often had special pumps that sold premixed oil and gas, you just selected the ratio and filled up. There were also East-European bikes. They were antediluvian crap that was badly made and unreliable, the fact that most were 2-strokes was incidental: the few 4-strokes they made were just as bad.
remember my old days with 2 stroke power.
