That's it? Wow. A missed opportunity to discuss the pros and cons.

WOW, completely useless information. I wanted a better explanation of the difference between the two. How about durability between the two for starters!

for me i choose Duracoat. cheaper and easier to work with. Ive got guns i did 14 years ago that are still in great shape, the 2 SIGs i own with Ceracoat are wearing off. Im sure thats anecdotal but its whats in front of me. Cerakote requires more knowledge to with mesh filters and crap, duracoat i just eyeball the 12 to 1 mix and spray.

@@deanpeterson2272 - I totally concur.. I am not a “certified” Duracoat painter, but I’ve plenty of experience with dozens of jobs under my belt over the past few years as a hobbyist for my YT channel. My “Duracoated” ARs and pistols are holding up BEAUTIFULLY. Longevity/ durability of the finish is ALL in the prep-work. Completely degreasing, then roughing up the surface with media-blasting (recommended, but not mandatory), or a 3M Scotchbrite pad, is all you need to do for best results.
The gentleman in this video was correct in saying Duracoat provides more color choices in lieu of Ceracoat. However, the biggest advantage to Ceracoat in my opinion, is the “cure time.”
Letting the parts hang for 10-30 days after application of Duracoat gives best results.
A hobbyist can afford to do that.
With Ceracoat, you cure the paint by baking the finish, and can then start reassembling an hour later.
If you’re having to crank out piece after piece for a commercial business, it makes the most sense because of the quick cure time. Hope this helped!
