I'm still rocking an 11 year old camera. It's been just fine. Getting a little long in the tooth now so I will upgrade soon. The cool thing is that I can buy a two or three year old model at a discount and to me it's still a massive upgrade. I'm not adding to their "shortage."
i agree with you all the way canon is really needs to wake up on the 3rd party thing at present only RFS lenses on the sigma brand are approved and even then just 4 wide angle lenses nothing telephoto
Marketing hype is real. I sold my canon r6 mark ii and switched to Sony. I like to shoot in log because I want to get the best image possible. I like Sony because they give s log 3 to most of their newer cameras. For canon if you want c log 2 you have to buy into their cinema cameras or the r5ii which start at well over $3000 plus if you want a good lens to go with thats that’s another $3000 for a rf l series lens. I mainly just use Sony lenses because they work better when it comes to stabilization. Sony has a lens for everyone at every budget. Canon you have no choice pay up or use an ef adapter 😂.
There is a global shortage of many of the base materials used to make an EOS R5 Mark II. For example, magnesium (used in the body) has had supply constraints; manufacturing new chips can take longer than cheaper chips due to bottlenecks and scaling. China's middle class, which includes 400 million to 500 million middle-class Chinese, would also be ordering a lot of these cameras. Get the picture!!

I just picked up an A6700 so I'm going to be doing some tests between that and S-Cinetone. I'm just worried about "having" to nail the exposure all the time. I also am having second thoughts about the Pocket 3 being a grab and go camera. It performed quite poorly when I tried that on my recent cruise. It seems to look great in decent lighting but get it in a tricky lighting situation and you might as well use your cellphone.
Actually I prefer S cinetone as long as its not really low light. I will use that all the time for the most part in studio. If you use slog 3, just over expose a full stop or 2 and you will be good to go! I will subscribe to your channel! Cant wait to check out your content!

have you considered getting an ND filter for your pocket 3? shooting it in log? might come out ver crispy!

The reason is canon make the sensors, always been the case with them. Its another reason why a lot of other camera companies buy sony sensors.

Fuji is by far the worst at doing this. But they all do it now in some shape or form.
