Big fan of the channel. I picked up a RPC 4.0 and I really like that it dries quickly. Now that it's summer in Florida I am using the RPC 4.0 a lot more for the simple fact that I don't have to turn it inside out and wait overnight for it to dry out.
It's a bit weird they don't make it obvious that you can buy a standard 20lb plate and a standard 10 lb plate then you can adjust it between 10 - 30 lbs depending on your activity (for the ruck plate carrier 3.0). I actually don't know if this is true but looking at the standard weight dimension specs it should be possible.
14 year police officer here used to carrying all my gear (with the exception of firearm & taser) on my vest. I’m 6’0 tall, 210lbs, lift weights 5X a week & do Jiu Jitsu 3-4 times a week. Looking to get into rucking just as an activity to do 1-2X a week with my wife. Rucking won’t be something I do daily. Would I ever need to ruck more than 30lbs?!? That’s my only concern with this plate carrier.
Hi, I'm here looking to get into weighted walks and I'm sorta in a pickle. I originally looked into getting a weighted vest, now I'm deep in the rabbit hole and cant figure out if the RPC would be a better option to go with or just stick with the vest. I do roughly 3 mile walks a day and just looking to add some intensity to them.
Great review! The new handle is a simple update, but so helpful. I do find the sizing on these to be a little awkward-if you’re between a Regular and a Large it may come down to the size of your shoulders/lats and their proportions compared to the rest of your torso.
One thing I was hoping to learn from this video was whether you can do burpees with this or not, did I miss it? That’s my big issue right now with my Rucker
Burpees, yes. The only issue is there’s no strap to hold the bottom of the carrier down. So it depends on how aggressive your burpees are. That’s one advantage to a vest is it all stays tight. But I’ve done burpees with the RPC no problem.
Crazy timing! Get my MCT training bundle today. Had the Rucker and it was to bulky for walking the dogs, hikes and biking. Gonna use the boogie bag for my edc. 🤩🤩💪🏻
I wouldn't at all recommend for HSPU. You'll be wearing that plate on the back of your head. Murph this year will be about survival. My recent training form doesn't support an aggressive approach this round.
I’m here because I’m looking for a replacement for the 5.11 tac tec plate carrier. I use the 20lb variant. It’s ok for in-gym movements, but TOTALLY SUCKS for running. Thank you for the review.
Are there any advantages of having this over a standard sized rucker? I bought the long range 33l from the sight, picked up a great deal on a 25l second hand. Now I'm trying to figure out whether a rucker 20l would be better because of the added utility for EDC or if the rpc is that much more comfy maybe just go for that. What are your opinions since you own them all? Thanks
Lots of choices there. Tough call. The RPC is limited just because it's just weight. For EDC there's better options and I'd look at a GR1. Depends on you size though too. If the 25L/33L sizes fit then I wouldn't think a 20L would be a good fit.
@@JBOutside1 I wasnt necessarily looking for EDC, but was trying to figure whether or not there were advantages of use pertaining to the rpc vs rucker for workout purposes? Like if it feels more stable on your back with different movements, and things like that. I just mentioned edc because the rucker has more utility.
@@williamcool4910 gotcha. The advantage to the Rucker is always the ability to use a hip belt. That’s the stability difference if you plan to do bear crawls or anything plank-like
Thank you for the review. I ordered one of these a few weeks back, and had to exchange for a different size (even after making my best informed guess based on their website sizing guide). They (GoRuck) were great with regard to the exchange process. I do wish it came with some sort of literature guide on ideal adjustment, but it does not. I just adjusted everything based on my own equipment experience, trying to get the plate to ride as high as it can on my back. There seems to be no ideal adjustment for all possible movements while wearing this item. It tends to need some adjustment shifting while in use so far, as it will slide down too easily even with the chest strap tight across the chest. Air squats are great in this RPC, but push ups and burpees cause the plate to slam the occipital bone, or to slide onto the neck to where neck muscles are helping hold the weight. I was never planning to jump rope with this, but I appreciate that caution in your video.
Yeah with minimal contact points it’ll need to be adjusted depending on the range of movement. I have good luck with the shoulder straps almost all the way tight. Gets the plate high enough and fairly secure. There’s surprisingly little info on the RPC so if more questions and comments get generated maybe I’ll revisit some of these issues.
@@JBOutside1 I started by ordering a Large, due to my height and chest size I thought that was ideal. However, the long straps were still way too long, and once I tightened it optimally, I could thread the loose ends of the straps in each other and tuck them inside the plate pocket! So I swapped for a regular size, and that helped a lot with the fit. I have cinched the chest strap well, to try and stabilize the plate as high as I can manage, but I will have to remove the logo panel off the strap to get it any tighter (which it feels like it needs). I think the RPC will be great for the Chad tribute workout in November. Will see how this year's Murph compares to last year with the front/back standard plate carrier I used then. I did find myself tempted by the Crye Jumpable in this video, which was probably not intended.
@@JBOutside1 settled for the large size so I could carry a single 30. I am probably on the cusp of either size. Thanks for the vid. It helped me decide that this was the right carry for me.
So, I’ve used this twice in the last week 30lb set up [for the first time ever….]. First time was a high rep push up, air squat, lunge wod. Second was a high rep pull up, push up, air squat, box step up.. the first wod without pull ups was ok. I’m still getting used to it. I’m coming off a 5.11 tac tec 20lb. But the pull up wod was a bit challenging. The straps definitely hindered my pull up movement. I’m not knocking this product. I’m pretty sure I still need to play with the adjustment. From what I experienced during the pull up wod, it seems like there might be a sweet spot between the adjustment of the shoulder straps and the vertical adjustment/tightness of the chest strap…. Any pointers? Thank you.
Get stronger? Haha, just kidding. Best guess is to maybe try tighter sternum strap and loosen the shoulder straps to get them out of that pinch area during the pull-up.
Some of them do. You have to be careful and get the right ones that are compatible. All I can say is there are different dimensions to some of the Yes4All plates
I can’t argue with that. I think it comes down to how you train and what you’re used to. After all the rucking I’ve done a plate carrier seems really restrictive

Very informative this helped me on getting ready to buying my first Ruck pack.

This is actually a fairly new thing that the plates are interchangeable like that.

Need? probably not. But I do like the ability. Since you're already carrying a bunch for work 30lbs might not feel like that much

Doesn’t really matter. Depends on your longterm goal and if rucking is the plan. If so. Get the carrier because you can use the plate to ruck too

Gotcha. The regular fit me perfectly but I’m in between a 20L and 25L Rucker size so 🤷🏼♂️

Hey JB, have you tried HSPU with it? The 5.11 was great because you could even do this kind of movements.

Hi: are the bundle deals for the plate Cartier and plates still available?
It appears they’re not currently available as a package deal
What a shame!
How frequently are these offered?
@@imluzhin Not sure exactly. It seems they do that when they do a big fitness push
Can you use this with the 10lb ruck plate
It will fit. No problem.
It needs molle to attach a hydration carrier.
🤔
Is there a way to add a pouch to the shoulder straps?
Yes. You could secure one to the shoulder straps using the sewn in webbing.
Which sunglasses are you wearing?
“Crossing Alaska” from Blenders Eyewear

Some of them do. You have to be careful and get the right ones that are compatible. All I can say is there are different dimensions to some of the Yes4All plates
can it fit more then one plate?
Depends. It will carry one 30lb plate or a 20lb plate and the new style 10lb plate.
Can you put 2 plates in it?
They make a 20 and skinny 10lb which could. Otherwise just the 30lb in the back.
So hard to unsee the diaper at the bottom 😜
