I think the way MD tackles the Ban list better than the TCG or OCG. MD banlist focus on consistency most of the time. You still have "the main combo of the deck", but it's harder to use it. Example: Snake-eyes 3 S-Ash, 3 Bonfire, 3 Dialbell, 3 Wanted... hummmm let's cut this down. S-Ash is 1 card combo Bonfire is 1 card combo or an extender to by pass a S-Ash negated. S-Ash 1 and Bonfire to 2. You still have the 1 card combo, but it's 1 in 40 now. You still have bonfire to search it, but it's 2 in 40 now and it's harder to have both in hand to use it as extender. Diabel is a 1,5 card combo, sometimes you will need to sacrifice something to use it. Wanted solves this since it gives you a +1. Let's limit wanted to 1. You still have this engine, but it's 1 in 40. The combos are there, but they are less consistent, and this makes other decks the chance to overcome the top metadeck.
All of the Drain series of traps are incredibly fair to balance their power; they could use an up keep cost to put a timer of to the lock, but they mean YOU have to be able to do without what your taking. Seems fair to me. . .
Dumb idea - is there someone who can program or create Cali’s list and share it somewhere to playtest? Of course, we’ll need a large enough sample of players who can play under it and see how things play. I’d love to see if Konami can somehow beta test these ideas somewhere and keep ‘em under a NDA or something … just to surprise players.
Imma tell you like I told our OTS store owner: stop asking for cards to get banned. KONAMi won't listen and doesn't care as long as you all complain about the state of the game but insist on running the same 7 decks that generate money for them to keep said "need to be banned "cards from being banned.
Yugioh players be like "yea lets not hit the snake eyes engine: branded, shifter decks and appolousa are the problem" Snake eyes end board is literally not the problem part of the deck
I agree Pank can go to 3, but I would say he's better than Fenrir. The easiest way to play around Fenrir is to destroy him with your first monster effect or via backrow so he doesn't get the chance to trigger. Pank doesn't have that problem, he can just chain to anything. Pank's also bigger, which means he gets to run over things more easily than Fenrir, which is relevant because they're both considered an easy +1 via monster removal since they're big enough to swing over stuff and have removal effects. As well, Pank is easier to summon. You can control monsters and still summon him, provided your opponent is up on board presence.
hard disagree. Fenrir being able to be used going first as an extra body to extend or be used as another disruption when your opponent goes second makes it superior to Pank.
@@RayMon504 Fenrir has more utility for combo plays, but if I'm running either of them I'm running them for removal when going second. And for that purpose I'd argue Pank is stronger than Fenrir. It's harder to play around and more easily removes a second body via battle if the opponent chooses not to respect it.
I agree with I:P ban. Not sure about Apollousa, dont think its much of a problem. I would ban Nibiru, it kills most rogue decks on its own and Savage/Baronne are gone. Would be even worse if Apo is gone aswell. Since you mentioned RC2 and people think there will be hits : I think Skill Drain will either be banned or limited. I would ban Kash Unicorn outright and bring back Arise-Heart. Kash engine needs a hit. Now Snake-Eyes : i would ban poplar or flamberge. People say it kills the deck too much however, another name was Oak, so i would be fine with Oak and Flamberge limit actually. Ash is not going to get hit, it just got an ultimate. I wouldnt be surprised if we just get Bonfire semi-limited and I:P banned/meaning Snake-Eyes will just stay around. Beatrice should go, Blaze Fenix should go, Sanctifire should go and same with King Calamity. Because of the thought of RC2 cards getting hit, I can see Crossout Designator getting hit to 1. I would get Gamma even back to 3 + Called By to 2. Pankatrops to 3 aswell. I would really not touch Yubel at all for this banlist. It barely has any representation. Also i would unban : - Electrumite to 1 - Supreme King Starving Venom to 1 - Zoodiac Drident to 1 - Knightmare Mermaid to 1
@@loismexican9488 yea the prank kids link 1 can come back. I'm mean i get Iblee still exists and that would be a problem, but it was banned to the interaction with orcust knightmare. I'm not sure how much it would matter 4+ years later.
Banning cards only delays the inevitable power creep. Snake-eyes should remain untouched and should be phased out by a new deck. Same for Beatrice. She’s just going to be good until another good deck drops and she’ll go back to being where she was before Fiendsmith
I do not think that is a good argument. That would mean that cards should remain untouched no matter what they do. In theory, maybe you could leave SE untouched if you banned the ip and apo/apo and sp, leaving them with no real endboard disruptions, but that in itself would go against leaving cards untouched. If you do leave SE as it is without any real hits then they would just take advantage of any really good generic link monsters in the future because they are good at link climbing. Now with Beatrice maybe you could leave her untouched if the fiendsmith engine did not exist, but that would require you touching a new engines. Not to mention we cannot predict how easy rank 6s may be able to make in the future. We do most definitely have decks that were originally weakened by bans or limts, but came back to almost full power and have proven to be fine (toss format) but that does not go for every deck. Sometimes it takes a while for some decks or cards to be power crept, so they have to be hit. Konami made it like that

Wanted: Sinful Spoils to 2. Oak and Ash to 2. Poplar to 1. Flamburge to 1. Diabellstar to 1. Bonfire to 1. Promethean to 1. S:P Little Knight to 1. One for one: banned. Called by to 3. What Konami should do is not print ridiculously overpowered cards that have little to no restrictions in the first place. That way they won't need to ban cards that might help their original archetype. Beatrice could have an effect that only allows sending Burning Abyss cards. That would make her balanced. Fiendsmith should not be generic fiend support as well. Seems like Konami don't care about the game. They just want to sell new overpriced cards and then proceed to kill them in order to sell newer even more overpowered cards.

welp time to learn exosister the deck is good at stopping the GY plus in arc type Prohibition and eventually Seventh Tachyon to search Martha or any exo from deck
The reality of Konami is not going to change the advanced format. Everyone needs to play Goat and/or Edison format. Instead of simply just quitting the game. Once you play those formats the spirit of yugioh comes back. 1: So much variety of decks you can play 2: Actually winning cash prizes from tournaments. Yes cash! Just not a lot of them sadly. So support those two formats, so there can be more tournaments around. 3: There's over 20 different styles of deck people can make that has a chance to win. Compared to just 1 to 5 decks in the meta. 4:Making a deck cost is so much cheaper to build compared to advanced.
My crackpot approach to fixing YGO is to give every card a point value based on it's use rate, the better the more points it gets. Give players a maximum number of points per deck, and make rules for cards that have X number of points. Ex. a 7 point card can only be played at 1. Any card that isn't explicitly listed costs 0 points. Finally give players a means to vote on candidates to get point-adjusted after each banlist drops. You can vote for, or against. Or make tournaments with point-capped decks. All of a sudden really good decks either lose a bunch of consistency or their strongest generic support, really bad decks can run around at full power while making use of strong generic support, and it's the Wild West of players trying to figure out which cards offer the best bang-for-points or are underpointed. And this will result in play results + the ygo community ironing out the most overrepresented decks with regularity after each banlist adjustment resulting in a metagame constantly in flux. Enter the Wild West of YGO era
They need to limit Kings Sarcophagus. That cards multi use effect each turn to summon multiple lvl 8 monsters PLUS the ability to send cards straight to the graveyard is toxic. Limit the card to 1 or 2 max. It’s OP
I think ip and appo might be hit in the next ban list (after the tins), but not on the current one. They were some of the biggest draw cards from Rarity Collection 2, it'd be too soon to ban them. That said I think Preemptively banning cards is silly because there's always going to be broken tech. It's better to let things play out as is and see how people deal with it and THEN bring a ban list vs just banning cards willy nilly and creating a new problem and having to wait 3-4 months for the next ban list. Plus not banning anything before infinite forbidden increases sales of that product. It's funny pre snake eyes we had the most versatile format in a long time, and people were asking Konami to do something about it because it make YCS hard to prepare for. Now you have a format where only a few decks are viable and now we want them to ban cards so that more decks are viable again. Yu-gi-oh community has proven time and time again, they just don't know what they want.
Pretty good and it would Help alot but i would Limit Fenrir and the kash fieldspell aswell cause If Not they will Play it everywhere again and i dont think Fenrir is balanced since it searches itself for some reason. I.P, Albion and Beatrice must get banned there is No way around it. For snake eyes its hard Ash to one doesnt seem to Help at all in MD cause you have Like 10 ways to get it anyways probably a bannworthy Card.

@@dominickangelo4319 Banning OSS will cut the wanted engine entirely from SE which means much less consistency. Banning Flameberge wouldn't be bad either but people would just deviate from playing pure SE to another SE variant that's gonna be just slightly worse like FK or infernoid. Also keep in mind, Flameberge wouldn't really be that much of an issue if I:P and Apollousa are banned. Banning OSS means you have to play the deck pure and with only 1 SE ash, the deck won't perform and poplar will only have the field to search. I:P and Apo banned means the deck won't make much anyways.
The solution is not banning cards but changing the rules to slow the pace of the game how it was in the early stages. The main issue is all the chain combos available. Best way to slow that down is rule change such as limit amount of fusions/synchros/xyz/link to just 3 per player a match. Have to have 20 stars total in monster levels in a deck no more no less. And maybe even limit amount of effect monsters per deck. Just anything to slow down the pace
Stun, floo, shifter, and kashtira aren't disliked because they are powerful or have powerful cards. They are wanted on the banlist cause they are inherently Anti-yugioh.

You get better your hands of my bro Albion, he did nothing wrong. He summons Albaz and something he can use to fuse, not his fault Konami has no consistency when writing effects for those you, where when this card is on field you can only summon type x cards or whatever.
If flamebridge doesn’t get the ban, then mermaids and Masterplan, and Hakai have zero business on the list. Compare hands decks are either fine or they’re not. and yes, Hakai is irrelevant here, but what the hell is red doggo doing here anyway?
if ip and appo should be ban. then ban little night and all generic 2's 3's and 4's that remotely do anything. its just a double standard cause konami only cares about dealing with a problem card, if it doesn't make them money anymore.
You right my man, pot of greed is banned because only because its +1, one card combo is stup1d it can be +3-5, why bother banning a card that only do +1?
If I had to say... We need to make decks more specialized so that they can only play their monsters and severely power down generic monsters. Decks need to be specialized. If we get rid of the generic monsters that are to easy to summon with to strong effects. If you really want to play monsters with powerful effects, you need to play the exact deck to play that particular monster. If its to easy to summon with to strong of an effect. It needs to go. We need to stop the abuse of cards
Ban original sinful Poplar to 1 Ash to 2 The pyro search magic card to 1 I personally thing that the problem with the snake eye engine is to many accessible searches leading to big boards
Core game needs more restrictions, having infinite plays is cute when all the cards do one thing or nothing, but it's not cute anymore. I can't recommend anyone I know to play this game.
simple fix snatch steal with a non response window, just take the strongest piece on your opponent's board. Yugioh really just needs insanely strong going second cards so it can slow the pace down.

Drident and Barrage to 1, but unironically
I think the way MD tackles the Ban list better than the TCG or OCG.
MD banlist focus on consistency most of the time. You still have "the main combo of the deck", but it's harder to use it. Example: Snake-eyes
3 S-Ash, 3 Bonfire, 3 Dialbell, 3 Wanted... hummmm let's cut this down.
S-Ash is 1 card combo
Bonfire is 1 card combo or an extender to by pass a S-Ash negated.
Unban Brilliant Fusion, Spright Elf, Summon Sorceress, & Ronintoadin!
Yugioh players be like "yea lets not hit the snake eyes engine: branded, shifter decks and appolousa are the problem"
Snake eyes end board is literally not the problem part of the deck
Dinomorphia best deck
Also i would unban :
- Electrumite to 1
- Supreme King Starving Venom to 1
- Zoodiac Drident to 1
- Knightmare Mermaid to 1
I'd love mermaid to 1, but I don't think it would happen soon
Probably Pranks kids miao miao mew or whatever it's called should be at 1
@@loismexican9488 yea the prank kids link 1 can come back.
I'm mean i get Iblee still exists and that would be a problem, but it was banned to the interaction with orcust knightmare. I'm not sure how much it would matter 4+ years later.
Nib only hurts rouge decks at this point
Even the rogue Decks are starting to play through it now.
Leave my boy albion alone go after meta decks
I used 2 imperms, ash and nibiru and fiendsmith played through it and set up a full board. That engine was a mistake lol
Hi, Nibiru. Phantom of Yubel would like a word with you
Final Countdown to 3, there is no reason why it shouldn’t
Konami made it like that
If you guys are dissatisfied with the current state of Yugioh and are looking for other card games I recommend Cardfight Vanguard
Already playing it🤟
Fuck no
Yes🎉
I nearly flipped a table when I got double crit’d. Nah bruh, I’m good.
@@silvermushroom-gamifyevery6430 but you can always play the game. Yugioh is doesn't let you play. I basically call it a communist game. It isn't your turn its our turn💀🤣
i see Cali smart rockin the bucket hat. You can't be caught outside in this heat without it.
eh, I say we see what happens to the format first. Not saying the new stuff isn't scary, but I want to see what actually becomes a problem. I remember when Adventure Engine came out and everyone was freaking about it. It did like nothing. It did some, just didn't add much.
@Aaron__Parker though it was not the problem. The Adventure Engine defined a format wym? 🤔
@@thecalieffect im probably just still salty when i bought the engine and went on a two month losing streak lmao
@@Aaron__Parker fair lol
Wanted: Sinful Spoils to 2. Oak and Ash to 2. Poplar to 1. Flamburge to 1. Diabellstar to 1. Bonfire to 1. Promethean to 1. S:P Little Knight to 1. One for one: banned. Called by to 3. Barrone, Borrelload Savage, and Linkuriboh all to 1. boom i just fixed the format and restored balance to the game in a tier zero format. You're welcome 😜
OCG and TCG player : ban Beatrice!!
no to gamma no to apo ban...rest sounds good to me
One card I absolutely think could go to 2 or 3: change of heart. Ya boy got a playset of QCRs cause he’s convinced that the card could go either semi or unlimited next list 😂
I keep saying this, but if the Tenpai field spell can be at 3, put Misc back to at LEAST 2. It’s basically the same card!
Can’t argue with that
Dude I tell everyone at my locals I'm like these two cards are almost identical verbatim
@@lorenshone2373 Right?! People look at me sideways when I say it, but they stfu when they read the cards side by side!
how do you summon apo on the 5th summon? just link off 4 monsters? xD
I activate a spell card NEGATE, i activate a trap card ,NEGATE, i activate a monster effect, NEGATE, I attack a monster, STOP THE ATTACK,, set card on the field,,, DESTROY IT,,,,,sooooo what can i do then,,, the opponent,, nothing or skill issue or GG,,,, welcome to Yu-Gi-Oh
I don’t think ban list matter as much in modern yugioh because after a banlist ppl are waiting for the next, lol as long as yugioh keeps playing like solitaire the game will always be 🗑
apollousa errata once per chain to 'once per turn'. konami please mulligan.
Outside of Beatrice apoulsa and IP are fine. Just hit the main issue with snake eyes and that’s their main deck monsters. Ban flamberge , hit ash, witch , bonfire , wanted , or SOS all at 1 or 2 . Or unban older cards already.
"Looks at pure sacred beasts deck " I'm sorry little one....is what I'll say if the limit/ semi limit spirit gate....
welp time to learn exosister the deck is good at stopping the GY plus in arc type Prohibition and eventually Seventh Tachyon to search Martha or any exo from deck
I'm ready to lose High wave king Ceaser from my ddd deck due Fiendsmith BS...
Konami, stop making generic boss monsters that Negate everything. I just want to play ojamas. 😢
Fabled unicore is the card that must banned forever . while you have number cards equal to opponent, it negates everything even handtrap
You play RDA religiously and yet didn't want to hit Calamity Lock?
Pretty good and it would Help alot but i would Limit Fenrir and the kash fieldspell aswell cause If Not they will Play it everywhere again and i dont think Fenrir is balanced since it searches itself for some reason. I.P, Albion and Beatrice must get banned there is No way around it. For snake eyes its hard Ash to one doesnt seem to Help at all in MD cause you have Like 10 ways to get it anyways probably a bannworthy Card.
Going to be leaving yugioh. Sad.
Konami hasn't been concerned about making more cards which stops game play. Instead, they make more, saying buy our set, or get left behind.
I like your content, but might be watching less often. Keep fighting man.
Nibiru is the descendent of mirror force. It is a card that can get you if you don't respect it, but it requires your opponent to play into it. Mirror Force always gets negated and so does Nibiru.
My problem with 1 ash is that fiend smith gets to it no problem. I say ban flamberge
How bout no and just use the Belle.
@@kish45 so, don't ban a completely busted card because, well... "just draw the out" ?
@@dominickangelo4319 Yep. Infact Konami should unban Kitkalos, Master Plan, Master Peace, Supreme king Starving Venom, Drident, Broadbull, Zoo Barrage, Soul Charge, Block Dragon, and Card of Safe Return on the next banlist.
@@kish45 all that sounds like a no and could cause more problems then what we have already. Limit flamberg but also other stuff like wanted, ash , bonfire.
@@dominickangelo4319yup. There's called by, there's belle, if u go 1st u can set a negate for that. Everyone wants to play the same 4 habdtraps at 3 but don't want to include belle?
I think it’s because Konami keeps making decks with no locks. Thus causing certain extra deck monsters to go from generic to EXTREMELY generic.
Heyo! I am selling my entire collection and I’m wondering if you have any tips on where or who would purchase it off of me. The tcg value is $3490 Any help would be appreciated! 😊
Bans:
-Beatrice
-Original sinful spoils
-I:P
-Apollousa
-Sanctifire
-Calamity
Limited:
-Snake eye ash
-Skill drain
-Pot of prosperity
Do these hits and I guarantee the game will be as healthy as possible
And thats the problem u still need more bans or change the rules
Banning OSS kills other fire strategies. Flamberge is the problem and needs to be banned. OSS to 1 certainly wouldn't hurt either.
@@Maximusls2400 what other bans would you need?
@@haroutkayabalian8591 nerf link summon mechanic, remove handtraps, have better timer,
The solution is not banning cards but changing the rules to slow the pace of the game how it was in the early stages.
Controversial opinion: if hand traps just aren't doing it, maybe a format warping card like maxx c is the card we need right now...
We need the John Wick of hand traps, snake eyes killed his dog and he's having none of it
You get better your hands of my bro Albion, he did nothing wrong.
That’s how I know I’ve been on auto pilot, when did Lightning Storm get semi-limited?
if ip and appo should be ban. then ban little night and all generic 2's 3's and 4's that remotely do anything. its just a double standard cause konami only cares about dealing with a problem card, if it doesn't make them money anymore.
Ban original sinful
Poplar to 1
Ash to 2
The pyro search magic card to 1
I personally thing that the problem with the snake eye engine is to many accessible searches leading to big boards
If they ban Apollousa and I:P I'm going to break something.
Comparing Shifter to Nibiru is the hottest take. Disabling the graveyard for two turns is NOT the same as taking a fat token.
I can’t explain everything in a single comment, but i still say ban popular and original sinful spoil, and watch the snake fall from the top
If Sangen Summoning is at 3, make Misc at 3🗣🗣
I like Apollo USA but maybe you’re right, the modern decks are doing too much and abusing these generic cards.
Someone how plants may get hit before branded does and I hate the thought of it.....they should just unleash everything and let us go crazy
Its crazy to me that we still have to punish pendulum for no reason but the link monster power ceiling is just ever climbing.
Ip ban apo bow ban rank6 girl ban
Waifus ban basically 😂
@starboyjedi13 there is some more but I had to get on a work call. But yay that and some 1 card engines and strong support. Like puppet lock ban ash limited ect we need a string list that hits a lot of decks.
SE hits good. IP and maybe access code and albion as well as calamity but more inport crimson dragon could be banned Shifter needs to be banned and fenrir needs to go to 1.
Noooo leave my Albion alone lol. I know its a problem but you notice branded has to do the gimmick lock to keep up in the modern game however that is a problem.
gamma back to 2
called by back to 2
ban princess or flamberg
ban beatrice
droll is still super useful idk why you say its useless most decks add negates and follow ups during their combo
Skill drain affecting both players is irrelevant since one player built around not being able to use monster effects and the other one didn’t
Honestly once they ban apo and if they ban ip it’s the end of the extra deck. Everything sucks.
