    Thanks for sharing, looks awesome, the most beautiful thing is when you have kids involved, the youngest one had nothing to with building the deck all he wanted is to jump to the pool and play some tennis.

    Hand rails per code at least
    1- toe board

      Watkins Tree Farm - Hobbs Creek Country Life if i build 10 x 10 deck so. What side i need for deck broad? Thanks

      @@andyking7713 I used 5/4 deck boards. 10 foot length deck, you probably will need to cut a 12ft down. I would recommend spanning the 10ft without seams. There will be hangover regardless what length you decide or find.

      It came with the pool & I adapted the deck for the ladder. I think they sell them separately.

    Nice video. Dont kno if I should try this at 65 yrs old tho. What is the actual size of the deck u built? We are thinking about doing a 7x10 partial deck around a round pool. TIA

      Roughly 5X16 with the 16 foot going along the shorter side of the pool. You can see in the videos. As far as being able to build this at 65 years old, age has no limits. One step at a time. Wouldn’t hurt to have a second set of hands. It would make it a lot easier.

      To be honest, I used the existing ladder as is & cut an opening in the deck for it to go through. I think I had to block it up on one end.

    What's the spacing on the 4x4 posts? And those are joists I believe, not studs. But about the same I guess

      LOL I noticed that when I was editing. On the back side of the deck the 4x4's are roughly 8ft apart. Around the stairs it is almost a 4ft x 4ft square. Thanks for watching.

    Nice vid brother! your house is my dream house (no neighbours arround), I've been trying to work on my deck lately but got some stupid ass neighbour calling the police on me for working up till 7.30 pm on a May 24 (still bright daylight)... Hopefully I get to finish it soon so the kids get to play in the backyard again

    what size is this deck and for two people do you in your personal oppion think a 4 x 8 foot deck will work just want room to step up enter pool with one chair on deck. Thank you for your answer. Im a 60 year old woman going to try to do this on my own after watching you.

      A 4x8 platform should be enough for 2 people. Either way you shift it, I think there would be room for a ladder & a chair. Good luck & God Bless.

      2x6) (1) 16ft / (1) 12ft / (6) 8ft
      (2x4) (10) 8ft
      (4x4) (8) 8ft
      (8) Concrete Blocks
      (3) 6-Step Stringers
      Timberlok (Wood Lag Screws) 4-4.5 inches long
      (24) Joist Hangers
      (30) 5/4 X 6 X 8 Deck Boards
      You will need 3" & 1-3/4" deck screws also.
      All boards were pressure treated lumber. Cedar was too expensive!!
      This will get you close. Please realize that every project is different and each project will have its own challenges. Check the prices with the list.

      Did your pour concrete in the cement blocks to hold the 4x4s. How was they staying up right plum just sitting there when you first started

      @@cavyboy99 Those concrete blocks are purchased and can be found at most box stores. A 4x4 can sit right inside the top or a 2x4 on it side can go across it. Pretty slick!! Thanks for watching & I hope you follow us.

      I built this in May 2020 and lumber prices were normal. I was around $450 at that time. I would be only guessing for the current prices today.

      Right. I wish I could. One step at a time. Find someone local and well recommended. I know firefighters do wood projects on their off days around here. Maybe that is an idea. I hope you can find a way to get one.

      I assume your talking in a worse case scenario if the pool ruptures. Everything slopes away from the house. Definitely a concern but I feel it is a low risk. Thanks for watching. 👍 hope you follow us

If the failure occurred on the side closest to the house, the pool itself acts like a damn/barrier, forcing the water against the house and water follows the path of least resistance .... But hey, it's your house buddy! I've seen this very scenario happen in real life ... when the water came gushing up into the master bedroom....well....let's just say a it got real expensive, real quick!
