  • I am finishing up the Pool Deck Build by putting the spindles on the handrails. I also will show you how to stop slipping on the steps or falling off the deck. Our new kitten Gracie make her debut at the end of the video.

    After all of your hard work, I hope you are able to enjoy your pool as well. We put up a pool last year and are looking to do a small deck. Thanks for the inspiration and ideas.

      @@watkinstreefarm6880 What did you use for the spindles, did you buy in a pack or individually?

    • @watkinstreefarm6880
      @watkinstreefarm6880  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@macarioaguilar6784 They may make a pack of them but bought them individually. I am sure a person could also rip a 2X4 in half and that would work as well.

    I would like to know how you installed your ladder. Looks like you just used the one that comes with the pool.

    • @watkinstreefarm6880
      @watkinstreefarm6880  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I did. Cut a hole in the decking and had the backside of the ladder go off under the deck. I leveled it and supported the ladder on the backside. Notched the decking and covered the hole.

    Could you please tell me the cost of the pool deck. We want to follow your video to build one but want to have an idea about how much it will cost. Thank you

    • @watkinstreefarm6880
      @watkinstreefarm6880  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Thank you for watching. I believe when I built the deck is was just under $500. With today's prices I would guess it would be closer to $1,000. Here is a list I put together. I hope you subscribe & good luck with the build.
      2x6) (1) 16ft / (1) 12ft / (6) 8ft
      (2x4) (10) 8ft
      (4x4) (8) 8ft
      (8) Concrete Blocks
      (3) 6-Step Stringers
      Timberlok (Wood Lag Screws) 4-4.5 inches long
      (24) Joist Hangers
      (30) 5/4 X 6 X 8 Deck Boards
      You will need 3" & 1-3/4" deck screws also.
      All boards were pressure treated lumber. Cedar was too expensive!!
      This will get you close. Please realize that every project is different and each project will have its own challenges. Good Luck!!

    thx a lot for the video. What I wonder is how did you solve the issue of the post that is (not?) touching the pool liner in the middle? Many thx!

    • @watkinstreefarm6880
      @watkinstreefarm6880  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You are correct. I did space the 4x4 back, which allowed the concrete block at the bottom to miss the liner. The liner still was up against the 4x4. I then took a floor matt and put it in between the two. Thanks for watching!!
